Chapter 55 You Hurt My Wife
Su Jiuyue left the central room, holding the handkerchiefs.
As soon as she went out, a snowball flew at her.
No time for her to dodge, the snowball split on her hair. Small pieces of snow fell into her lappet along her hair.
The sudden cold touch pulled Su Jiuyue out of the previous mood and looked up, seeing Niuniu throwing a snowball at her.
Niuniu was so small that the snowball she made was soft and spongy which couldn't hurt Su Jiuyue a bit.
Seeing Su Jiuyue looking at herself, Niuniu stuck out her tongue and waved to her. "Auntie, come and play!"
Kids living in the remote mountains lacked amusements. That's why they were quite happy on snowy days. If it were not for the lack of food at home and the confinement of frolics from their parents. The whole village would have been in much more boisterous scene by now.
Su Jiuyue stood still, but Wu Xiyuan rushed over. Seeing that her eyes seemed to be a little red, he turned around with much anger, and said to Niuniu, "Niuniu! Look what you did. You hurt my wife!"
Niuniu didn't do it on purpose. When she saw her third uncle yelling at her, she ran over too and explained, "I didn't! It's just a very small snowball! It won't hurt."
"But why is my wife about to shed tears?" Wu Xiyuan tenderly used his hand to take the snow off her hair, while still questioning his little niece.
Niuniu was so young that her stature just reached the same height as Su Jiuyue's chest. When hearing her auntie was about to cry, Niuniu hurriedly looked up at her, "Auntie, is all right? I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to."
Actually, it had nothing to do with Niuniu. Su Jiuyue recovered her composure and beamed brightly, "I'm fine."
Niuniu tilted her head and asked her confusedly, "But why are you crying?"
Su Jiuyue shook her head, "I'm not crying. It's just the snow was too cold! You little rascal!"
Niuniu stuck out her tongue again. "No, I'm not. I just wanted to play with you!"
Su Jiuyue swung the handkerchiefs in hand, and said, "No problem but I have to put away these handkerchiefs first then I'll come back to play with you. Is that ok?"
Guoguo, not far away from them, stumbled over with her short legs and exclaimed, "Count me in! I want to play with you too!"
Su Jiuyue was just a bit elder than them. No sooner had she returned to the room to put away handkerchiefs than she heard the cry of the kid outside.
She was startled and hurriedly put down the things in her hands, rushing out.
Su Jiuyue saw her second sister-in-law holding Guoguo, who was wailing miserably in her arms, "I want to play too! Mom, you're too bad!"
Guoguo's pitiful cries touched Su Jiuyue who asked, "Sister-in-law, what's up?"
Tian Xiuniang frowned and seemed to be a bit dissatisfied with Su Jiuyue, "Too cold outside. Guoguo is still too young, what if she catches a cold?"
What other words Tian Xiuniang wanted to say were the fact that many kids had died of cold. She didn't speak out because Tian thought these words seemed to curse her own kid.
On second thought, Su Jiuyue agreed since Guoguo was only three and a half years old. If she really caught a cold, she would suffer a lot.
Regardless of Guoguo's heartbreaking cries, Tian Xiuniang carried her back to the room after finishing her words.
But even if they entered the house, the crying of Guoguo could still be heard by three people in the yard.
Three people stood gazing at each other until Niuniu sighed, breaking the silence, "I pity Guoguo."
Su Jiuyue stroked Niuniu's head and said, "We can't leave Guoguo alone. How about we playing inside?"
In kids' mind, a big sister who was gorgeous and had a good temper was welcomed, not to mention that Su Jiuyue's such pretty appearance was viewed a fairy girl.
Su Jiuyue had a wooden hairpin slanted on her head, which was obviously not a good quality, but its unique style set apart from others.
