MARA'S POV
I did not know what went into my brain, and those words came out of my mouth.
I didn't mean it.
But my anger overpowers me.
Until now, I still can't accept the fate that baby Tanya faced.
I feel like we failed to take care of her. I must admit that I blamed Maru, but I also knew that no one wishes for it to happen.
I can't help but get angry. Especially now that I am at home and my baby was still in the hospital.
I'm sorry, Maru if I put all the blame on you.
I heard the car leaving; I looked at the window, and I saw Maru go out.
I don't want to think about it, but I have a strong feeling that he will go to Jana.
Where else can he go?
So my anger toward him worsen.
Why did he get so mad that night in the hospital?
It's so obvious that Jana is the one he loves!
A few hours later, my phone suddenly rang. Its Yelle.
I frowned. "Why is she calling me?"
"Hello, Mara!"
I can sense that she is kind of pissed.
"Do you know where your husband is now?"
My forehead furrowed even more.
"I don't know, and I don't care!" I answered her coldly.
"What? You don't care? Are you crazy?" She hissed.
"Your husband is here in The Elements. He's so drunk, and maybe you want to fetch your husband??"
What is he doing there?
"I said I don't care!"
"Mara, what are you saying?! He is your husband, but you don't care at all?! Did you guys fight?! I will let him here, but what if someone took advantage of your husband's drunken state?" She scolded me.
I rolled my eyes. She's overacting!
"Mara!"
I can hear the frustration in her voice.
I was about to say that I will fetch him when I heard Maru talk.
"Stop calling her." I heard him say.
"B-but Andrew!"
"She doesn't care, so stop it!" I can hear the irritation in his voice.
Then Yelle cut the call.
I frowned and was a little nervous.
This is the first time that I heard him sound like that.
I immediately changed my clothes and went to the bar that Yelle have mentioned.
There I saw my husband drinking continuously. I felt pity as I watched him. I was about to go near him when I saw Yelle carrying him.
I wanted to show up, but I couldn't.
She asked for help from the people there to lead Maru to his car. I followed the vehicle. I frowned when I noticed it was heading towards her house. I saw him bringing Maru into her home.
I wanted to take my husband from her, but when I remembered the cold in Maru's voice earlier, I stop myself from doing it.

The following day I did not want to admit it, but I was waiting for my husband to arrive. I went down to see if he was home already.
"Oh, Mara, you're awake! The breakfast is ready, and you can call your husband to join you." Manang Biding said with a smile.
So he is not yet here?
"He's not in the room."
She frowned. "He's not in your room? You mean he did not sleep here last night, is that it?"
I nodded shyly.
"You still did not reconcile with your husband?"
I couldn't answer. I lower my head.
I saw her shake her head. "You two are both hardheaded! You are intensifying your fight. What you guys need is to have a serious talk."
"You know what, Mara, a relationship without good communication will not work." She said, scolding me.
I just gave her a forced smile while peeking at the door. Hoping my husband will come home.
"Sit down there and eat. Don't wait for your husband. He'll come home to you later." She said, assuring me.
But after breakfast and lunch, Maru did not come home.
So I decided to go to the hospital alone.
I was about to leave when my phone rang. I was hoping that it was Maru, but I felt disappointed when I saw James calling.
"James." I tried to hide the disappointment in my voice.
"My princess sounded so sad. Do you have a problem?" He asked worriedly.
I just shook my head.
"Nothing. I'm going to the hospital to visit baby Tanya."
"You are going alone?"
"Yes." I just answered.
"You want me to go with you?"
"Aren't you busy with your business?"
"You know that I can cancel all my meetings if it's for you."
I smiled at what I heard.
"Sure."
"Are you in your car now?"
"Yes."
"I'm close to your house. Just ride with me."
"Okay." I just said.
I'm not sad because Maru didn't come home. I'm sad because he did not go with me to visit baby Tanya.
We both agree that we will visit baby Tanya every day until we can bring her home. I hope that no matter how annoyed he is with me, he will still go for our child.
Just a few minutes later I heard a car arrive. So I got out of my car and got out of the gate.
There I saw James leaning on his car. He is handsome in what he is wearing now. They are siblings. They look alike. Why didn't I think that they were brothers before?
I saw him raising his eyebrow.
"Like what your seeing, princess?" He said teasingly.
I just rolled my eyes.
He helped me get into his car before he went inside the vehicle.
There was no traffic, so we got to the hospital quickly. We went straight to where my child is. We talked to the doctor, and he said that my baby is getting better. And I can also touch him now.
I was about to go to my child when I saw Maru going towards us. It went straight to the doctor, and he treats me like I was passing by. Like me, he asked about our child's condition. So the doctor repeated what he had told us earlier.
Just like me, I can see in his eyes that he's happy with what he had heard.
We went to baby Tanya together. My hand was still shaking as I put it in the incubator. It feels nice to hold my child, even if it's just her hand that I can hold.
My tears immediately welled up.
Just wait for a little more, baby Tanya, and you will be with me.
After me, Maru held baby Tanya, and just like me, his tears welled up.
After we visit baby Tanya, the doctor spoke to us again.
"Mr. and Mrs. Ottave, I am happy to tell you that next week you can bring your child home. Somehow she can breathe on her own, but we still need to make sure she is well before you bring her home; that's why I advise you to wait for a week more." I nodded happily and turned to my child again.
Did you hear that, baby? We can bring you home next week. You can be with us soon, baby.
After that conversation, I immediately called James to bring me home.
"Why don't you ask your husband to bring you, home princess?" James asked curiously.
I was about to answer him, but Maru answered him instead.
"I can't send her home because I need to go back to the office; I still have a lot of work to do."
I was hurt not only by what he said but also by the coldness of his voice.
I stared at him without emotion. I try not to show any emotion to him. Like me, he looks the same.
"Let's go, James," I said, and I avoided his stares.
James frowned as he followed me.

James did not take me home yet. We decided to have coffee first.
"Spill it out." He said in a serious tone.
I frowned. "What are you saying?"
"Don't play dumb with me, Denise."
I just stared at him.
Then I heaved a heavy sigh.
I told him everything that has happened between my husband and me. He just listened carefully.
"What the Denise! Love is not jealous?! Where did you get that cheesy line?" He said while laughing hard.
I glared at him.
I felt annoyed because of all the things I said; that was all he noticed.
"Okay, I'm sorry haha haha... but your line is so cheesy!"
I just rolled my eyes.
"But wait, why did your best friend bring Maru to her house? Why not in your house?"
I was also asking myself about that last night. But I don't want to give any meaning to that.
I just shrugged.
"Your best friend, does she like your husband?" He asked seriously.
"Almost everyone on our campus likes your brother," I said, laughing.
"But you did not answer my question, Denise."
I was a bit pissed with his question. "Because your question is pointless."
"Why is it pointless?"
I just rolled my eyes.
"Based on your reaction, I can say that your best friend has a thing for your husband."
"Yes, but it was just a crush and not just Andrew. Almost all the popular guys on our campus were Yelle's crush. So will you stop accusing her!" I said in annoyance.
I heard him chuckle, which made me more annoyed.
"I didn't conclude anything, and it was you who you were concluding something. I'm just curious. I didn't mean anything."
I just rolled my eyes.
"But it's not bad to be careful, Denise. Especially since you and your husband have a problem."
I suddenly felt nervous.
No.
Not Yelle.
