Mara's POV
I was so excited to wake up because today, Baby Tanya will be discharged from the hospital.
I will finally be able to be with my baby.
"Good morning!" I smiled and greeted Maru.
I saw the shock in his eyes.
A week ago, we seemed like a stranger to each other. We treated each other like a wind. It felt sad, but we are getting used to it.
I just chuckled and went into the bathroom.
Today is the best day of my life. Nothing will ruin my day. Even during our breakfast, I can't erase the smile on my face.
"Good morning Manang!" I greeted her and immediately hugged her, and kissed her on the cheek.
I could see the shock in her eyes, but she just shook her head.
"It looks like you both have a beautiful morning. Did you two reconcile already?" Manang asked teasingly.
I did not answer Manang. Instead, I just shared with her the great news.
"Today, my baby will get discharged from the hospital, Manang," I told her.
"OUR baby Mara. You can't produce a child alone." He said in a joking tone.
I just shrugged. "Yes, OUR baby."
"It's good to see you two like this. Now I can say that you're a married couple." Manang said with a big smile on her face.
I suddenly felt shy. "All right, Manang, let's eat. I'm excited to be with baby Tanya."
We sat and ate together. The three of us had a good time talking.
After our lunch, Maru and I excitedly went to the hospital to fetch baby Tanya. 
"Ready, wife?" My husband said with a smile as he held out his hand to me.
I smiled and accepted his hand. On our way, Maru did not let go of my hand. He held on to it until we arrived at the hospital. 
Deny it or not, the happiness I felt today is not solely because of baby Tanya's discharge but also because of the development of my relationship with Maru. 
We both shed tears as I finally held our baby. Her face is very peaceful while she was in my arms.
My baby. My princess.
I looked at Maru as his tears welled up in his eyes.
"I love you, baby." He said, but his stares are pointing at me.
I just smiled at him and looked at my little princess again.
After Maru fixed all the necessities for baby Tanya's discharge, we immediately got in the car, and we are excited to go home.
When we got home, I was shocked to see our parents, the two Manang, Yelle, Alex as well as James, who prepared a welcome party for baby Tanya.
"Thank you, guys!" I thank them sincerely.
Baby Tanya's grandparents immediately went to us and excitedly get baby Tanya from us.
I immediately approached Yelle and hugged them.
"Congrats!" They all said.
"Looks like you love me, Denise. I look like baby Tanya." James said with a wink.
"What are you saying there, James! I look like my daughter. You have no participation in making our baby. So you don't have any right to claim that you look like my child." Maru hissed.
I laugh at James.
"You love teasing your brother!" I told James.
He just shrugged and gave me a wink.
"My goddaughter is beautiful. It looks like there is no hope." Alex whispered.
I glared at him.
"I'm just kidding. You're too defensive." Alex said while laughing hard.
"I don't know about you bullies!" I said, laughing.
We had lunch together.
Baby Tanya's grandparents are the ones who volunteered to take care of her.
I frowned because I can't find a chance to hold my daughter.
"Let's give it to them for now, wife. Later you can have your alone time with Baby Tanya. We have our lifetime to take care of our daughter." He whispered.
I smiled and nodded at him.
And just like what Maru has said, I was able to have my alone time with the baby when the guests left.
Now she was sleeping in her crib.
I was surprised when I suddenly felt Maru's hug from behind me. His chin rested on my shoulder.
"I'm so happy right now, wife."
"Me too," I said in agreement.
"I'm also happy because we are now okay, hon." He confessed.
I nodded. "Me too."
"Why are you so cold to me the past weeks?"
I heaved a heavy sigh and faced him.
"Because I was still very emotional then. I'm sorry if I put all the blame on you." I said seriously.
"Wife..." Maru can't utter anything.
I smile at him.
"I think Maru, we need to fix our relationship for baby Tanya," I told him.
I saw the glow in his eyes. "You mean..."
I shake my head.
He frowned. "Then what do you mean by fixing our relationship?"
"I want us to be f-friends," I said almost in a whisper.
"F-friends?!" He looked so shocked by what I said.
I nodded.
"What the heck Mara?!"
"Why? You don't want us to be friends?"
"I don't want to!"
My forehead creased.
"But why?!" I asked him, a bit confused.
"You're my wife, Mara. I don't want to be friends with you. I want more than that!"
My heart suddenly beat faster.
"But we've tried that before. And look where it leads us."
"Mara... wife..." he pleaded.
I'm afraid I have to disagree. "No, Maru. I don't want to go back to that process again. Now there is no other value in my life but Baby Tanya."
"But do you think baby Tanya will like this idea of yours?"
"I don't know. All I know is that I do not want my child to experience what I have experienced and felt before."
"I thought it might be okay if mom and dad didn't insist on staying in their marriage. I would feel better if my mom and dad chose to separate. Though we are not a complete family, at least they are happy."
"Don't you even go there, Mara. I already told you, I don't have plans to get out of this marriage."
"That's not what I mean, Maru."
"Then what?!" He hissed.
"Why are you shouting?! Baby Tanya might wake up!" I whispered.
"I don't like your idea, Mara. I want more than friendship."
I try to keep myself from smiling because I knew in my heart that I was thrilled by what Maru had said.
"But our relationship went too fast. We skip this part. I'm not closing any door. I want us to start where we should be. No skipping this time."
He just sighed. Again he hugged me from behind.
"Okay. Let's start again as a friend for now." He whispered in my ears.
I felt electricity when I felt his lips in my ear.
"But can we be friends with benefits?" He said teasingly.
I laugh at him.
"I can still kiss you like this, right?" I felt his lips on my shoulder.
"Right, friend?" He said, then kiss my neck.
"Why aren't you answering, my friend?" He kissed my ear.
I close my eyes.
Oh, how I miss his touch!
"Friend..." He turned me to face him, and our eyes met.
"I can still do those things, right, my friend?"
I nodded with shyness.
"But make sure that I am the only friend that you will allow to do these things, or I'll kill them."
I swallowed and nodded softly.
I saw him smirk and started to kiss my lips, full of passion and longing.
