Chapter 31

MARU'S POV
This is probably the first Sunday I can be alone with my family.
Since we took Baby Tanya home, she always had a visitor every week. We also can't blame them because our daughter is so lovable. But of course, my family and I also need to have time alone, especially since I'm still fixing my relationship with my wife.
"Hon, let's go out." I sweetly told my wife while she was holding our child.
"Sure. I think it's the first time that we can go out as a family." She can't hide the excitement in her voice.
"Where do you want us to go, hon?" I asked her.
"Let's go to the mall, let's go shopping for baby Tanya. If we choose to go to the park, I'm afraid that she will not be able to appreciate it for now." She explained.
I agree.
We hurriedly changed our clothes and went out for our first family bonding.
We did not talk about what we should wear; coincidentally, we both wore plain white shirts which made us look like wearing a couple outfit.
I chose to wear a white shirt because it's comfortable to wear, especially with Baby Tanya since we have hot weather here in the country.
When we entered the mall, people keep on looking our way, especially at baby Tanya. I can't help but be proud of my daughter.
She's getting all the attention. Baby Tanya looks like my female version. Though I prefer her to look like a mini Mara, my female version did not lessen her beauty.
What I liked most about this situation is that I'm holding my wife's hand while my right hand is pushing baby Tanya's stroller.
Best feeling ever.
We went to the first baby boutique that we saw. Mara looked excited at choosing clothes for our baby.
"Ma'am, that dress is perfect for your daughter; that dress is also one of our new arrivals." The sales lady said.
Mara smiled as she turned to our baby to bring the dress. The dress looks cute on our baby.
"Do you like this dress, baby Tanya? For sure, you will be even cuter with this dress." Mara said excitedly.
I just smiled at her.
This is exactly what I picture myself with Mara and our daughter. I can't wait to have another child with Mara. I want to have a baby boy; this time, I want it to be Mara's male version.
After choosing clothes for our baby, Mara went straight to the cashier to pay for the clothes.
"The total is 10,499 pesos, Ma'am." Mara handed over my card to the cashier.
"Thank you, Ma'am, Sir! You look good together! Your family looks cute too." The sales lady said while giggling.
"Thank you," I told her.
My smile went bigger when I saw Mara blushed at what the sales lady had said.
I was holding the paper bags while Mara's pushing the stroller.
After we went out of that boutique, we went next to a toy shop. Since baby Tanya can't play yet, we bought infant toys first. And our child seems to like her new toys.
Next, we went to some boutiques to buy clothes and shoes for ourselves. Before we had our dinner, I first took the things we purchased in the car.
We decided to eat at an Italian restaurant because my wife suddenly craved pasta.
"I have so much fun! Why did we do it just now?" Mara said while smiling.
"How can we do this if we can't run out of guests," I said, laughing.
She chuckled. "We can't blame them. Because our baby is adorable and lovable."
"Agree. But it's perfect that we finally had this time."
"True! It's so much fun!"

I still can't get over our very first family date. That's why even when I enter the office, I still can't get rid of my big smile.
"Looks like you had a good day." I saw Jana entering my office.
"Indeed," I said.
"Let me guess, something good happens to you and your wife?"
I nodded. "Best days of my life."
"I'm happy for you."
My eyes narrowed when I saw the pain in Jana's eyes.
Impossible.
We both know that I'm not the one she likes.
She likes Alex, Mara's best friend. And I know that until now, Jana still likes him. So it is kind of impossible that she was hurt. I'm sure it's just my imagination.
"Let's have lunch together later? I don't have anyone to go with me." She said, trying to make her voice lively.
"Do you have a problem, Jana?" I asked worriedly.
She shook her head. "Nothing new. Still the same." She said while giving me a forced smile.
"I told you to forget that guy. You can find someone you deserve more than him." I said seriously.
"If only I could command my heart, I would have done that a long time ago."
I felt sorry for her.
"All right, let's have lunch together later."
I saw the twinkle in her eyes. "Okay. I expect you later then?!"
I just chuckled.

And true enough, at noon, Jana came in to invite me to eat. I fix my things, and then I went out with her.
Jana and I enjoyed our lunch. I told her about our very first family bonding.
"I feel like Mara is about to accept that she loves me." I happily told her.
"I'm happy for you," Jana answered.
We have never done this for a long time. Before, we often go out to talk about our unrequited love. I told her about my feeling for Mara while she was telling me about her feeling for Alex.
Jana is very supportive when it comes to Mara. At the same time, I am the opposite when it comes to the person she likes. I am very vocal that I'm not too fond of Alex for her. For me, there are better men than him.
Jana is kind, so she deserves to find someone who will love her and take care of her. And not the one who keeps on hurting her. It may not be physically but emotionally.
Jana had to leave first because she had a sudden meeting.
I just paid the bill and was about to leave when I saw Yelle approaching me.
"You and your ex are so sweet."
I furrowed.
"We are not doing anything wrong," I told her in a serious tone.
"You sound so defensive!" She said, mocking me.
"Because you are pertaining for something."
"Oh really?" She just said.
Her reaction made me more pissed.
"You really can't leave that woman, huh?!"
"What do you mean by that?" I hissed.
"When I confess to you before, you told me that you are in love with someone else, and that is my best friend. But I was surprised because, after a month, you and Jana became a couple," she said thoughtfully.
"So your point is?" I asked her in the same tone.
She just shrugged. "Nothing. I was just surprised that you married my friend and you break up with that woman."
"Because I love Mara!"
She raised her brow. "Oh really? Or is it because you are just afraid of your parents? You just married my best friend because your parents commanded you. You both don't like to get married, but you don't have a choice."
"What is your problem?!"
"Nothing. I want to tell you that because of your actions and treatment of that girl, I find it hard to believe that you love my best friend more than that girl."
"What are you trying to say?! That's not true! I love Mara! She's the only one I love!" I growled.
"Fine if you said so." She looked at me sarcastically and then left.
I clenched my fist.
