MARU'S POV
I can say that my life now is almost complete.
Since Mara and I agreed to start again as friends, our relationship has improved.
Mara returned from her being an attentive and sweet wife, but I still feel that something is missing.
Just like what I said to Mara before, I want us to be more than friends.
Even though my sweet wife has back, I still had a fear in my heart because there is a possibility that someone might take her away from me. After all, the relationship that we have right now has no assurance.
I want to own her completely, but I can't because she won't let me.
I want her to own me, but she doesn't want to.
Though I felt that I own her last night as we celebrated our 2nd anniversary.
I can't help myself from smiling whenever I remember how we celebrated our 2nd anniversary.
"You look happy." I smile at Yelle.
"I am," I answered her, still wearing a big smile.
Almost every Saturday and Sunday, Yelle is here visiting baby Tanya.
I'm happy for the love and attention that she is giving to my child, but I still prefer it if she will lessen her visits.
I can't bond enough with my family because she is always here.
Jana was also like that before, but I told her that I would appreciate it to lessen her visit. I told her my reason, and she understands.
I wanted to tell Yelle to do the same, but she might not understand my point. Maybe I'll tell Mara about this.
"That's good to hear. At least now you are slowly building your relationship again with your wife."
I smile at her.
I've known Yelle for quite a long time. I let her be close to me before because I know that she is Mara's best friend.
We lose our closeness when she found out about my feelings for Mara. She confessed her feelings to me. I told her that I couldn't love her back because I'm already in love with someone else.
I'm in love with my future wife, her best friend.
Since then, she has avoided me. I feel sorry for her, but I can't force myself to like her. Also, if I lead her on, it will be more awkward for us now. Plus, it might be difficult for me to win my wife's heart.
"But Mara and James are close to each other. Lucky you because you already married her when James came back to your family."
My jaw tightened.
I know she's so talkative, but I didn't realize that she's too insensitive.
"Oh, look at them; they look so sweet!" She said to tease me.
I look in their direction.
I glared at them when I saw my brother's arm on my wife's shoulder.
When my brother notices me, he removed his arms from my wife's shoulder.
A few minutes later, Mara and my brother went to us.
Baby Tanya immediately raised her hand to ask for her mom. Mara directly holds her, but when she got her, baby Tanya raised her hand again and asked for me.
I laughed. Good job, my princess. I can't help but smile because of the behavior of my baby.
It seems like she knew the situation of her parents. Maybe she heard us whenever Mara and I argue when she was still in Mara's belly.
So now, she is the one who serves as the bridge to improve my relationship with my wife because whenever she sees us, she does not want to separate from us. She does not let others hold her. She wants us always to keep her together.
"It looks like the baby is feeling it too. Great job, baby Tanya!" James said.
I knew that James was hinting at us. And I think I knew what his hints were all about. I need to talk to my wife.
When baby Tanya went to sleep, we left her first to Yelle and James. I told her that I wanted us to talk after baby Tanya fell asleep.
We head straight to our room to talk.
"Wife..." I called her.
"Yes, Maru? What do you want us to talk about?" She asked.
"Haven't you noticed? Jana barely visits here." I started my speech.
She raised her brow. "You are sad about it? Then go visit her!"
I smile at her reaction. I can hear the jealousy in her voice.
"No, I'm not! Silly." I said to her.
"So, what do you want to say?" She asked, a bit bored.
"I talked to her. I told her to lessen her visits because we can't have our alone time as a family. After all, she keeps on visiting us during our free time."
Her eyes widen. "You told her that?!"
I chuckled. "Yes, because it's true."
Mara just shook her head.
"Why are you telling that to me?" She asked, a bit confused.
"Because I want you to also talk to Yelle. And do the same with her." I said seriously.
"What? Why?" She was so shocked by what I wanted her to do.
"Same reason with Jana. I can still tolerate James because he barely visits, but Yelle, she's not only here during Saturday but even during Sunday!" I reasoned out.
"You seem so close with her these past weeks. I didn't expect that you will ask me to do that." I frowned.
"I am just treating her well because she is your best friend, Mara," I said in a serious tone.
"Oh, okay. I thought-" I cut her off.
I grabbed her and kissed her.
"Stop imagining things, wife. There's no one else in my heart but you and baby Tanya." I told her sweetly. Then I hug her tight.
"Talk to her now so that we can have baby Tanya alone tomorrow."
"I understand," she answered.
After that conversation, Mara and I immediately went down to see if our princess is already awake.
I sat at the table where my older brother was while Mara went to Yelle.
"What took you so long? Baby Tanya is too young, but it looks like you want to give her a baby brother or sister." My brother started to tease me again.
"No, silly! And will you stop hugging my wife!" I hissed.
"You guys have married already, but you are still jealous of me? If I wanted to steal your wife, I would have done that even before you guys got married. I respect her decision. And I know that you have always liked Mara. I'm not that selfish to ruin your family."
Hearing that from him, I suddenly felt ashamed of my actions.
He gave me a tap on my shoulder. "I get your sentiments, but I am not the one you should think of but the people around you. Many people today are good at hiding their real intention." He said seriously.
"I know what you mean. That's why I'm careful."
He raised his brow. "It's not obvious that you are careful."
"I already talk to Mara."
"About what?"
"About her friend. I told Mara to talk to her friend and tell her to lessen her visits here because we are losing our quality time with our family." I told him.
"So that's the reason why those two look so serious." I just nodded in response.
A few moments later, Yelle already said goodbye to us.
After that, my brother followed her.
"What did you tell her?" I asked my wife.
She heaved a heavy sigh.
"I tell her what you told me. And I think she understands our point. That's why she already said goodbye to us." I can hear the sadness in her voice.
"Then why are you sad?"
"Why won't I feel sad? Yelle looks sad and disappointed with what I asked her to do. She told me that she would miss baby Tanya." I hug her tight and kiss her forehead.
"Don't be sad, my wife. I'm sure she understands us."
