"Rent a car?"
Everyone looked at Rita at once.
Teri disapproved, "Renting a car is too expensive."
"It's not expensive. The car I contacted through the hotel will be cheaper because we are guests." This was obviously learnt from what Ebony did in the last episode in which she borrowed a car from the hotel so that it would be cheaper.
"It's only twelve dollars. They will take us to and from the destination."
Was twelve dollars not expensive?
When they were about to finish their lunch, Teri asked Ebony quietly, "How much is the round-trip fare if we take the bus?"
"Two dollars," said Ebony.
"..." Teri was speechless.
That was much cheaper.
However, it had already been decided that Rita Obrien would lead the team, and there was no going back.
The day went on in peace, except that Rita practiced favoritism and took extra care of Vernon in everything, which made the others feel a little uncomfortable.
However, no one said anything considering that Vernon was indeed injured.
When they were back at night, they had to pay for the next day's room rates.
Teri went with Rita because Rita's English was not good.
However, when they got to the reception, Rita could not find any money after searching her pockets for a long time.
"What's wrong?" Teri asked.
Rita looked perturbed, "Maybe it's upstairs. Just give me a sec, Teri." Then she ran upstairs.
Ebony came out of the shower and saw Rita rummaging through the room, making their room look as if it had been robbed. She asked with a stern face, "What are you doing?"
Rita said anxiously, "My wallet is missing. Have you seen it?"
Ebony frowned, "Didn't you put it in the black backpack?"
"I have looked in there. It's not there," Rita's face turned red. Biting her lip, she said, "Help me look for it. I can't find it."
Ebony pursed his lips, and finally bent down to help her look for it.
Teri had waited for almost twenty minutes, and Rita was still not coming downstairs, so she went up to see what was going on.
When she was upstairs, she saw that everyone was blocking the doorway of the girls' room, all busy looking for something.
"What's wrong?"
"Rita doesn't know where did she put her wallet," Jacob Silva said with an unhappy look.
"The money is lost?" Teri blurted out.
These words seemed to have pierced the last barrier to the truth, and everyone in the room fell silent at once.
Rita, who was sitting on the floor and rummaging through a suitcase, started crying.
Teri hurried over and hugged her.
Rita whimpered with tears on her face and said, "I don't know where I put it. I remember well that I put it in the bag. How come it's gone..."
"I remember," Victor Torres said suddenly, "I remember, Vernon said he was thirsty, and when you went to buy him a drink, you seemed to have put your wallet on the counter?"
Rita stood up instantly and ran out.
"Rita, where are you going at this late hour?" Teri ran out after her.
Jacob was worried about their safety, so he ran out after them.
The others in the room said nothing for a while.
Victor got up from the ground and returned to his room, followed by Vernon.
Lloyd stayed behind. He leaned lazily on the sliding glass door of the balcony, and looked sideways at Ebony, who was sitting on the bed, "If we can't find the wallet, what are you going to do?"
Ebony glanced at him, "She's the one who wants to be the leader of the team. If she can't find the wallet, it's she who should be bothered. What does it have to do with me?"
The bullet screen comments were raging.

-- [Is this called selfishness? Get lost! Rita Obrien only cared about Vernon Hale and she lost the wallet. Everyone has no money now, and you have the cheek to call Ebony Gibson selfish?]

"Are you really not going to care about her?" Lloyd looked blandly at Ebony. "Are you?"
"Am I her mother? Why should I care?" said Ebony.
"Whatever," said Lloyd.
After an hour, Rita and the other two came back, and sure enough, they could not find the wallet.
Rita had cried her eyes into two swollen walnuts.
After a while, Rita's phone rang. She picked it up and said a few words sobbingly, and then she said to Teri, "Teri, I'll go out for a moment."
"Is it the production team?" Teri asked.
She thought it was a phone call from the production team. The production team would definitely intervene when something as serious as this happened. Perhaps they would give them some money. After all, it was an accident that the money was lost.
"Yeah," Rita replied vaguely and went out.
Teri was relieved and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
Ebony tossed and turned on the bed for several times, and finally she sat up and went out.
It was impossible for Rita to succeed in the negotiation with the production team with her lack of eloquence. She walked towards the elevator with a stern face.
When she passed by the safety stairs, she suddenly heard a woman's exclamation coming from the closed stairwell.
She froze for a moment and looked at the door.
"Vernon, don't do this, Vernon. Let me go, Vernon..."
"Baby, don't be afraid. There's no one here."
"Vernon, no... Vernon, don't, don't...don't...don't..."
Ebony narrowed her eyes and stretched out her hand to push the door.
Her wrist was intercepted in mid-air.
She turned and saw that Lloyd had come out of the boys' room on the opposite side. The door of the boys' room was open and some light spilled out.
"Vernon...ah...ooooooo..." It seemed that someone covered Rita's mouth just as she started to cry out, and her voice turned into whimpers.
Ebony stared at Lloyd, "Let go."
"Didn't you say you don't care?" said Lloyd.
Ebony's face changed, "You want me to ignore it? Why, have you done the same thing as Vernon?"
Then, ignoring the worsened look on Lloyd's face, she raised her foot and kicked the door to the stairs!
