Chapter 132 Rush Over and Throttle Ebony
"Wow!"
Those trainees cupped their faces and cheered noisily.
Mr. Vasquez was so indulgent!
Ebony, however, was not happy. What do you mean? I gave him my autograph. Why is he the nice one?"
The trainees were speechless.
And so was Lloyd.
The trainees were flabbergasted.
They exchanged looks but lost their tongues.
Ebony stood akimbo and lectured all the trainees present. "You fans are really biased. No matter what others do, when he is around, he is the best. He's on top of the world, right?"
Ebony was both jealous and angry.
The others were still gaping at her.
It annoyed her even more. "What, am I wrong?"
In her anger, Ebony ignored the others and turned to Lloyd, "Are you done? Time to go!"
Lloyd silently gazed at her.
In the end, he sighed and said, "Let's go."
Ebony went outside the practice room and whispered her disapproval, "Do you think this is a signing session? Showoff..."
Lloyd was speechless.
At night, they had their sixth meal at the hotel restaurant.
Not that hungry, Lloyd put two shrimps into his bowl, put on gloves, and started to peel them.
There was a television in the box.
Entertainment news was being broadcast, and the public performance today was covered.
Before the certain talent show started, some audience did live streaming, and Lloyd appeared as a guest.
The live streaming was later cut off, but according to the audience, some guests of the show quarreled. Ebony, Belinda, and Victor were all involved.
However, those were just rumors. There were no videos to prove them, and the media didn't have enough information. If people wanted to know what really happened, they might have to wait till the program hit the screen.
Some netizens had different opinions, believing the appearance of Lloyd and the quarrel between the guests were just a publicity stunt made by the producer.
Ebony watched the news till the next one was covered.
While gnawing the ribs, she asked Lloyd, "What time is your flight tomorrow?"
At that point, Lloyd had peeled a shrimp.
He dipped it in the sauce, sent it to Ebony's mouth, and replied casually, "Five o'clock."
Ebony froze and glanced at him.
She had the shrimp with a slurp and finally smiled.
"When will you get up?" she asked again.
"At three or so."
Ebony frowned, pondered for a moment, and rang the bell to call the waiter over.
The waiter came in. Ebony ordered two plates of pastries for takeout.
When the waiter left, Lloyd peeled the other shrimp.
He sent it to Ebony's mouth and asked, "You're not full yet?"
"No." Ebony ate the shrimp.
She smacked her lips and continued, "It's for you. Breakfast is unavailable at three o'clock, and buying outside is not economical."
Lloyd was surprised before chuckling at her. "Thank you then."
Ebony grunted and said, "Eat as much as we like. It will be reimbursed anyway."
With that, she accelerated her eating speed.
By the time the pastries were served, Ebony had finished her food. Her cheeks bulging, she asked the waiter to put it on her tab and then led Lloyd to take the elevator.
Their rooms were on the same floor.
Ebony saw Lloyd at the door of his room and stuffed the pastries into his hand.
She checked the time on her phone, ignored the 18 missed calls from Dolores, and said, "It's 0:30, and you have about two hours to sleep. Go and take a rest."
With one hand holding the pastry, Lloyd suddenly raised his other hand and used his thumb to wipe the glutinous rice off the corner of her mouth.
Motionless, Ebony stared at him.
Lloyd's dark eyes met hers.
With affection, he caressed her cheek and said in a light voice, "I have to see you next time..."
Ebony nodded cheerfully and said, "Yeah, see you, bye!"
Lloyd was lost for words.
He withdrew his hand, turned around, went into the room, and closed the door.
When Ebony got up the next day, Lloyd had left.
She checked the phone, surprised by the sight of 39 missed calls from Dolores.
Ebony went to wash up in the bathroom.
She changed her clothes, came out, and saw Janet coming in with breakfast.
Janet's face was haggard, and she got dark circles under her eyes.
While opening the lunch box, Ebony lectured her, "Girl, even though you're young, you should pay attention to your health. Rest early. Staying up late will affect your life expectancy."
Janet rushed over and throttled Ebony.
Ebony looked up at her with confusion.
With a fierce look, Janet said, "I stay up late because of you! Ebony, could you answer Dolores's call? I can't take it anymore. She scolded me all night!"
"What are you talking about?" Ebony patted the back of Janet's hand and soothed her, "If I answer the phone, won't I become the subject of her scolding?"
Janet felt devastated. "But it was not me who scolded Belinda and Victor on stage!"
Ebony took a bite of the streaming hotdog and said while chewing it, "Actually, you should learn to adjust your mind. Dolores scolded you, so what? Are you afraid of her? What's there to be afraid of? She's a first-class manager, so what? She's the hand that feeds us, so what? In front of us, she has to cry and beg us not to cause trouble outside. If you think from this angle, she is not scary at all."
Janet's glassy eyes looked at Ebony. "Since you're not scared, answer the phone."
Ebony shook her head. "It's a different story. Besides, my phone is out of juice."
Janet was lost for words.
After breakfast, Ebony swaggered her way to the practice room.
The two teachers and the five trainees had started practicing.
At the sight of Ebony, the trainees stopped and greeted her respectfully, "Miss Gibson."
With her hands in her pockets, Ebony walked straight to the chair at the back, sat down, and said casually, "Go on with your practice."
The dance teacher clapped her hands as a single for the trainees to continue dancing after her.
Ebony watched the practice all morning.
At noon, she had lunch and then went to draw.
In the afternoon, Ebony began to correct moves for the trainees.
Halfway through the training session, someone suddenly knocked on the door.
Without checking who it was, Ebony barked, "Go away!"
The staff member outside cringed and scampered away.
The staff member rushed to the exit and told Dolores, who couldn't enter without a badge, "Sorry, Miss Gibson is giving a lecture. No one is allowed to disturb."
Dolores nodded. Her face was sullen.
She fished out $100 from her pocket, handed it to the staff member, and said, "See the fishing line on it? Slip the money in through the crevice and pull the line when Ebony tries to pick it up. Repeat this process till she comes out."
The staff member was petrified.
