Chapter 133 I Cried, I Faked It
The staff member was dumbfounded. What kind of fishing was this?
Would any normal person chase a fishy banknote from the fourth to the ground floor?
Ten minutes later.
The staff member looked blankly at Ebony who appeared in the lobby and picked up the phone with satisfaction. She folded it and put it into her pocket.
The staff member was astounded.
Happy to get the money, Ebony turned around and prepared to go back to the training room when danger was sensed coming from the right.
She froze for a moment and reflexively assumed an offensive stance.
The next second saw her ear being grabbed.
Dolores's snarl then rang out. "Why didn't you answer my calls?"
The sight of Dolores scared the hell of Ebony.
Dolores grimaced in anger. "How does it feel, you wretch!"
Dolores came here to apologize to the chief director for what happened during the public performance yesterday.
While she was making an apology, Ebony was asked to stand in the corner as punishment.
The chief director conversed with Dolores before glancing at Ebony.
It was the first time he had seen Ebony so well-behaved. She was acting like a different person.
The chief director knew Dolores. In the same circle, they were acquaintances.
Dolores's apology was so sincere that the chief director knew not how to respond.
In fact, inviting Ebony, Belinda, and Victor to the same show was a deliberate decision.
It was not all Ebony's fault that the matter escalated.
The chief director made some general remarks, shook hands with Dolores, and saw her off in person.
After the chief director left, Ebony tried to sneak out.
Dolores yelled at her, "Stop!"
Ebony halted and turned around. The rims of her eyes were red.
Dolores was surprised to see her crying. "You..."
Ebony was very upset. "Dolores, are you going to deduct my salary?"
Dolores was speechless.
She had a headache, pinched her brows, went over, and softened her voice. "Luckily, the program team is reasonable, but you have completely offended Belinda."
Ebony grunted, "She started it."
Dolores nodded and said, "She is a bitch. Everyone knows. However, she is popular, and you should be tolerant."
Ebony didn't say anything, but her eyes were redder. "Are you still going to deduct my salary?" she asked again.
Dolores sighed and replied, "No."
"Oh." Ebony blinked, and the moisture in her eyes was gone.
She cried. She faked it.
Dolores was speechless.
Dolores was pissed off, regretting being so nice to the hussy!
Dolores said irritably, "Forget it, go back. I should get going!"
Ebony waved goodbye like a well-behaved girl. "Bye, Dolores."
Dolores looked back at her and remembered Ebony's look when she picked up the money. After a moment of silence, Dolores took out her phone and wired Ebony 2,000 dollars.
Ebony stiffened at the transfer prompt on her phone.
Dolores pulled a straight face, saying, "Work hard. I'm expecting you to buy me a house!"
If an artist earned good money, the agent would get commissions. So far, Dolores had made over 200,000 dollars. In this circle, the agents of those popular artists earned generous commissions.
Take Lloyd's agent, Ivan, for example. He had been Lloyd's manager since the latter entered showbiz.
Over the years, Lloyd rose to fame and made great money.
Along with it, Ivan became a famous rich man in the circle.
Rumor had it that the agent owned more than 600 million dollars.
So, Ivan worshiped Lloyd like a god.
Once again, Dolores glanced at Ebony who was gazing happily at the balance of her account. The total amount was 2,145.27 dollars.
Tsk.
If she would own 600 million dollars one day, she was willing to pay someone 20 million dollars to pray in the church every day, not to mention give Ebony 2,000 dollars as her allowance!
The third public performance was coming. Ebony was busy training the trainees strictly every day.

One day, she received a call from Director Bass.
In a cheerful voice, he told her that Fairy Island would soon be available on the internet.
Ebony was overjoyed to receive the news.
Fairy Island was the first TV drama Ebony acted in after her rebirth. Although it was a net play, she starred as the female lead and had a happy time during the filming.
Director Bass, a disciple of Director Knapp, was a responsible director. After Fairy Island was filmed, Director Bass put in good words for her in front of Director Knapp and won her an audition chance.
Ebony asked enthusiastically, "So, what do you need me to do?"
Director Bass said, "Nothing. The budget for the play is small, and publicity is not in the plan."
Ebony said, "At the very least, I should post it on Twitter."
Director Bass freaked out and said immediately, "No, don't! You can't let anyone know that you star in the play... Ebony, in fact, I checked out your Twitter page before calling you. Well, you have too many anti-fans."
Ebony was stunned.
Director Bass said earnestly, "I just want to tell you that you don't really need to do anything. The poor producing team doesn't have money to delete the negative comments from the trolls. If those anti-fans of yours come and rate our play one star, we'll be in a difficult situation, don't you think?"
Sad to hear that, Ebony grumbled, "I won't tell anyone that I have a role in the play..."
Director Bass was relieved. "Good. That will be your great contribution to the play."
Ebony was speechless.
There wasn't any publicity when Fairy Island was released.
Eight episodes went live on the first day.
Since she starred in the play, Ebony spent 15 dollars to buy a membership. That was a lot of money for her!
Since it had just been released, there were barely any bullet screen comments.
Ebony watched three episodes in a row and only saw three comments.
"Here it comes!"
"Here it comes!"
"Here it comes!"
Each one appeared at the opening of every episode.
Ebony had reason to believe the comments were left by one person. It was quite likely to be Director Bass.
Ebony had a bitter feeling.
She then left one comment at the beginning of each episode.
"Nice!"
"Nice!"
"Nice!"
After watching three episodes, Ebony checked the time. It was a bit late, and she went to bed since she had a dance class tomorrow.
At 3:00 a.m.
After the filming was finished, Lloyd went home and closed his eyes for a rest. In the front seat of the car, his assistant was talking over the phone.
"It has gone live? Okay, Director Bass, I'll leave my comments right away. What is it called, Fairy Island? Yeah, I've memorized it."
The man in the back seat opened his eyes.
Lloyd took out his phone and searched with the keywords.
At 5:30 a.m., Lloyd's fans, who had stayed up all night or woke up early, were surprised to see a new tweet from his Twitter account. There hadn't been any updates for a long time.
A photo was posted. It was a woman in an ancient costume rather than Lloyd himself.
In the photo, the cunning and pretty lady was dressed in a pink and blue dress.
An emerald hairpin was on her hair. Sitting by a creek, she turned sideways and looked back when the golden sunlight sprinkled down through the leaves and landed on her white face. She looked like a dancing butterfly.
The breeze came, fluttering her hair.
In the strong sunlight, she looked ethereal.
She was like a fairy descending from heaven...
A few minutes later, over 7,000 comments were left under the tweet.
The most popular comment went like this. "It's Ebony. Ahhh..."
Lloyd replied, "Yes."
The second most popular comment went like this. "Gosh! Ebo is so beautiful!"
Lloyd replied, "Yes."
The third most popular comment went like this. "You haven't tweeted for over ten years. Then you posted a photo of Ebony?"
Lloyd replied, "Yes."
The fourth most popular comment went like this. "Long live Lloyd & Ebony?"
Lloyd replied, "How should I top your comment?"
