Chapter 103 One Wife Is Enough
The audition was scheduled for a week later.
Dolores was super protective of Ebony. She turned down all odd jobs arranged by the company's department of business affairs for Ebony.
She tried her best to create an environment where Ebony could concentrate on the script and prepare for the audition a week later.
In order not to distract Ebony, Dolores also asked Janet to take care of her.
Janet was responsible to cook for her and help her clean up the house.
In short, Dolores stopped Ebony from doing all kinds of trivial things as far as possible.
Ebony's main energy was hoped to be used to prepare for the audition.
Unexpectedly, Janet stayed at Ebony's house for less than two days and was kicked out.
After hearing the news, Dolores called Janet to ask what happened.
Janet cried and explained, "I saw there're some waste cardboard boxes on Ebony's balcony, and I threw them away. But Ebony said that they were the express cardboard boxes she kept, and she planned to sell them when she had more. I threw them away as rubbish. She asked me to compensate her."
Then she added, "She also complained that I ate too much. She said one meal I had was enough for her three meals a day. It's a lie! She just doesn't want to share her meals with me! How can I eat as much as she does? She eats three big hamburgers at a time!"
Janet cried and felt even more aggrieved, "She also blamed that I put too much oil and didn't know how to save the oil when cooking. She also condemned that I didn't turn off the tap when I used the hand sanitizer...In those few seconds, I didn't waste a lot of water!"
Dolores almost caught a headache after heating Janet's tearful complaint. She had no choice but to persuade, "Forget it. You can have several days off."
Hearing this, Janet turned distraught.
Dolores asked, "What's wrong with you?"
Janet replied, "Ebony told me to rest for a few days. But I won't be paid when I have days off. Dolores, can I not rest?"
Dolores, "..."
A week passed in a blink of an eye.
The day before the audition, Dolores accompanied Ebony and flew to Kopool.
The next day, Dolores woke up Ebony early in the morning and took her to the audition set in person.
This audition was an internal one.
As soon as entering the lounge, Dolores saw that there were several people inside, all of whom were current first-line female stars. Some of them were chatting, and the others were fixing their makeups.
Seeing Ebony and Dolores come in, all the female stars lapsed into silence.
Dolores, sophisticated and seasoned, would definitely not show any cowardice since she was used to seeing such s scene.
She was afraid that Ebony would be nervous, so she was about to hold Ebony's arm. But when she turned her head, she found that Ebony was missing.
Looking around, she saw Ebony had been seated with her hands in her pockets and her legs crossed.
She kept shake her legs in a relaxed manner when seated.
At the same time, she glanced at the people on the opposite side.
Dolores, "..."
Being stared at by Ebony so unceremoniously, those female stars turned their eyes away instantly.
They continued to chat or fix their makeups, and the scene returned to harmony.
Dolores came to sit next to Ebony, patted her thigh, and said, "Put you leg down."
Ebony could only stop crossing her legs, smacking her lips and saying, "There're so many people competing for a supporting role."
Dolores snorted, "What do you think? Do you know the director is Elvin?"
The audition started at ten o'clock on time.
A total of seven people were there for audition, and Ebony was the seventh to start.
When it was Ebony's turn, it was already one o'clock in the afternoon, and Ebony was already hungry.
Dolores told Ebony, "No need to be nervous."
Ebony nodded, "I'm not nervous at all."
Seeing her being sluggish, Dolores quickly changed her words, "You'd better be nervous. Get nervous! Mobilize yourself! Hurry up!"
Ebony, "..."
"Is this the last one?"
In the audition room.
Elvin, who was in his forties, looked at the document in his hand, skimmed it twice, and frowned, "Ebony? Is she recommended by Ben?"
The assistant director next to him replied, "Yes, Ben knows we hold an audition today. He called specifically to ask if there was Ebony on our audition list."
Elvin smiled, "Ben is really doing big things now. I'm even not able to have him to do me a favor."
The assistant director said with a smile, "It's actually owing to your instruction. I watched some clips of Fairy Island, Ben's new movie. It's really good. You often say that you're happier than us when knowing we get ahead."
Elvin waved his hand with a smile and said, "Let her come in."
At this moment, a staff member hurriedly came in and said, "Director Knapp, Mr. Vasquez is coming."
Elvin raised his eyebrows in astonishment, asking, "Didn't Lloyd say he wouldn't come here? Why did he change his mind? Where is he?"
"Downstairs."
A few minutes later, a stern man in a dark coat walked in from the back door.
Elvin and Lloyd were quite familiar with each other.
Elvin raised his hand to greet, asking, "Didn't you say you wouldn't come here?"
The room was heated, so Lloyd took off his coat and handed it to the staffer. Then he replied lightly, "I tried my best to come here. After all, you're helping me choose my wife."
"Ha-ha, you really have a lot of wives." Elvin gave a hearty laugh.
Elvin waved a document in his hand and said, "The others have finished auditioning, and we're going to audition the last one. She's recommended by a man who is close to me."
Lloyd walked over to sit next to Elvin and took the document.
Looking at the first page, he saw the picture of Ebony. He couldn't help smiling, "One wife is enough."
Ebony was finally asked to come in the audition room.
She was almost starving to death.
When entering the audition room, Ebony first saw Lloyd sitting in the middle.
She blinked in confusion.
"What are you doing over there? Come in." Elvin, who was not into variety shows and entertainment news, had no idea that Ebony and Lloyd knew each other. He took a sip of coffee and greeted Ebony casually.
Hearing that, Ebony walked in, but her eyes were still on Lloyd.
Why was Lloyd there?
Would he act in this movie?
She clearly remembered that there was no Lloyd in this movie.
She remembered, in the previous life, Elvin worked hard for six years for the movie Pledge. Unfortunately, it did not surpass Ancient Alley.
Although Pledge won a favorable reputation and box office, it's still a long way from Ancient Alley.
In fact, there was no movie that surpassed Ancient Alley and no actor that surpassed Lloyd before Ebony died in the previous life.
While Ebony was lost in memories, Lloyd raised his head and looked at her.
His eyes looked calm. He didn't forget flipping through the document in his hand when looking at her, as if he was an impartial and stern interviewer.
Elvin said at this time, "Let's start."
Ebony came out of her trance, stood in the center, put aside those distracting thoughts, and started her performance.
At first, Elvin was not attracted by her performance, but after watching it for a while, he suddenly felt a little interesting. He leaned forward with a smile touching the corners of his mouth.
After the performance, Elvin asked, "How many scenes did you recite?"
Ebony responded, "All three scenes have been recited. "
"Um. "Elvin said, "Let's come to the second scene."
Ebony changed her mood right away. When she raised her head, her eyes had been flushed with tears.
This made Elvin stunned for a while.
He didn't expect that the girl would cry so fast that she didn't even need to prepare at all.
After the second performance, Elvin became more and more serious.
He asked Ebony to perform the third scene as well.
After all three scenes were over, Elvin pondered for a while.
Then he suddenly said, "Extra test for a love scene."
He looked left and right, and then said to Lloyd, "Do me a favor?"
Lloyd agreed without any hesitation, stood up at once, and said lightly, "OK."
Ebony stood still and saw him walk to the center of the stage.
Elvin stared at the looks of the two, touched his chin, and suddenly said, "Give him a kiss first."
