Chapter 102 Ebony Was a Little Resentful
Early the next morning.
Ebony, without any makeup, went downstairs with a mobile phone in one hand and an eco-friendly bag in the other. As soon as she got downstairs, she saw Janet, her new assistant.
"Are you Janet?"
The short-hair girl standing in front of Ebony seemed to be a bundle of nerves.
She bowed to greet respectfully, "Yes, I'm Janet. Nice to meet you, Ebony!"
"Nice to meet you, too." Ebony sat in the back of the commercial car and said only, "Let's go."
Janet hurried to get on the driver seat and start the car.
Having worked as an assistant to many other stars, Janet had a clear knowledge that it's not easy to serve some picky female stars.
So she was very careful when driving.
"Stop at the corner."
After a while of silence, Janet heard her new employer's order.
"Okay." Janet promptly parked the car on the side of the road.
She turned around and asked, "Ebony, do you want to go shopping?"
"Yeah." Ebony opened the car door and got off, saying, "I'm going to buy something in the supermarket. Some fresh foods are on sale today. Wait for me here."
Janet was startled by her words.
And just as she was in a trance, her new employer actually got out of the car with the eco-friendly bag!
"Hey, wait, Ebony!"
Ebony stood by the car and took out a mask from a pocket of her coat.
Then she put it on. Seeing that Janet got off, she frowned, "You don't need to get off. Stay in the car. You can't park the car for too long on the side of the road here. If you see the traffic police coming, drive away at once and don't get a ticket."
Janet was dumbfounded, "I..."
Just then the traffic lights turned green.
Ebony hastened her step and crossed the road on the zebra crossing.
She went to the opposite side.
Janet stood her ground without knowing what to do.
She wanted to follow Ebony, but she was afraid that she would really get a ticket if the car was parked there.
After waiting for half an hour in anxiety, she finally saw Ebony come out of the supermarket.
Janet rejoiced at her appearance and hurried to help her after seeing her carrying a large bag full of things.
Ebony avoided Janet's help and said, "It's heavy for you."
Janet hurriedly replied, "I can do it. Believe me, Ebony."
Ebony had no choice but to give her the bag.
As a result, at the instant taking the bag, Janet failed to lift it and it almost fell to the ground.
It's Ebony who quickly caught it and prevent it from falling. Then Ebony got into the car with the bag in one hand and said, "I just said it's heavy for you."
Janet was so embarrassed that she blushed.
After getting into the car, Janet couldn't help but turn her head to ask, "Ebony, what did you buy?"
"Food." Ebony checked what were in the bag and found no food was crushed, so she said in relief, "Hurry up! Or we'll be late for work."
Janet thought to herself that they were not afraid of being late.
But she hurriedly drove in the direction of Whitemarsh Mansion as Ebony ordered.
When they got downstairs in the company, Janet looked at the cafe opposite and asked, "Ebony, what would you like to have for breakfast? How about a piece of low-fat strawberry cake and a cup of sugar-free coffee? You can go to the meeting first, and I'll buy and send them to you right away."
Ebony gave Janet a puzzled look and asked, "Why should I spend my money on breakfast?"
Janet was startled once again.
Ebony got out of the car at this time.
As she walked, she urged, "Hurry up, I'm really going to be late."
Hearing the words, Janet felt that her new employer was really a good star who was punctual and serious.
Although she only needed to come to the company occasionally, she still insisted on arriving before 9 a.m.
Stars who followed the time like her were rare in the entertainment industry!
Two minutes later, Janet stood at the door of the break room.
She gaped at Ebony who was rummaging through boxes and cabinets like a plague of locusts...
Dolores's assistant came to the company at this time. After putting down the bag, she came to the break room to have some coffee.
As she went in, she saw Ebony.
She instantly shouted to the outside, "Come here. Ebony comes to steal our snacks while we are not here! Catch her!"
Three or four staff members rushed in at once.
Smart Ebony immediately grabbed the snacks, dragged stunned Janet, and went straight into Dolores' office when she heard the alarm.
Dolores hadn't even come to work yet, so there's no one in the office.
After Ebony ran in with Janet, she locked the door.
Janet stood in a daze, listening to the slamming of the door and the sound of cursing...
She couldn't accept the reality at all!
"Ha-ha." Ebony burst into laughter. Then she put the snacks in her arms on the table, turned her head and waved to Janet, "Come here for breakfast."
Janet, "..."
Ten minutes later, Dolores came.
The staff members outside the office immediately complained to Dolores.
Knowing the situation, Dolores turned her office door handle with a gloomy face, but she failed to open the door.
She shouted, "Open the door!"
The next second, the door opened.
Janet stood in the office with panic all over her face.
Dolores didn't look at Janet. She directly looked in the direction of the couch and saw Ebony, who was sitting in an orderly manner.
"Good morning, Dolores." Ebony raised her hand to greet honestly.
Dolores felt a drumming in her temples.
After taking a glance at the pile of empty food bags and drink boxes on the table, she walked directly behind the desk and sat down, not even bothering to scold Ebony.
She only said in a cold voice, "Go for the meeting in ten minutes to select your next specific job."
"OK, OK, OK." Ebony agreed obediently.
Ten minutes later, the representative of the company's department of business affairs came to Dolores's office to attend the meeting.
The representative took out a large pile of documents and said with a smile, "Ebony is so popular lately, so we have to choose carefully for the next project."
Ebony looked at the documents on the table, leaned a little closer, and carefully touched them.
Dolores was a little surprised, "Too many! Not so many before."
The representative's eyebrows danced and his spirit soared. He said, "Her popularity is increasing day by day. This morning, I got several more calls asking for cooperation."
Dolores nodded. Seeing that Ebony was still touching the documents, she felt a little ashamed.
She went to sit next to Ebony and pulled her hand back.
Ebony had to put both hands on her knees, but her eyes still fixed on the documents.
The meeting lasted about an hour.
Two magazine shoots and an interview were chosen for Ebony.
And two movies were picked as the next specific jobs.
After the representative left, Dolores took the two movie scripts and said, "One is for you to be the heroin, and the other needs you to audition for a supporting role. What do you think?"
Most of the scripts they received were boring soap operas and bad movies judging from their titles. Besides, there're some not popular variety shows.
The only ones that were not that bad and would help Ebony's future career were the two movie scripts in Dolores's hands.
Dolores said, "Originally, the former is better. It's a men-focused commercial movie with many grand scenes. The actors are all famous and influential. Although it has romance as subplots, your part is not small at all. The director is Lionel. You can use this movie to get glided. After it is released, you will be able to be more popular and famous."
"But..." Dolores raised the latter script in her other hand, .
"This is Elvin Knapp's new movie. You know, Ancient Alley, his last movie, helped Lloyd and Belinda win the Oscars."
Ebony was a little unhappy when she heard this.
She corrected what Dolores said, "It's Lloyd who won the award. Belinda was only nominated."
"She was the only actress to be nominated that year." Dolores bent down and pushed the three-page draft of the script of Elvin to Ebony, asking, "Are you confident to give it a try?"
Ebony stretched out her hand, directly pressed the draft and snorted, "Of course."
