Chapter 304 Arrogance and Pride in His Tone

Ebony was speechless.

Whoa, that son of a bitch!

The corners of her mouth twitched. In a rage, she almost crumbled the phone.

Lloyd took the phone over, checked it out, slid upward, and saw the video clip Ebony had sent to Max earlier.

In the video, the girl was unruly and domineering. Two men were under her foot. Facing the camera, she provoked the leader of the assassin organization.

Lloyd looked sullenly at her.

She evaded the matter and said, "Let's... find Kara first!"

At a hotel in Bierske, Max put the phone down. The smile on his face turned broader.

Beside him, a hitter said gingerly, "Capitan Nightingale has been alarmed. We..."

Max's grey eyes looked over.

The man immediately shut his mouth.

After a moment of hesitation, he asked, "Why did Ebony let our men off the hook?"

Max stubbed out the cigarette in the ashtray and said nonchalantly, "Rule out the impossibilities, and the rest will be the truth, however incredible it seems."

"Boss, have you figured out her identity?" the man asked humbly.

Instead of laying it bare, Max turned to look at the gray sky outside the window.

Kara had been in the box just now. In the blink of an eye, she was kidnapped. Moreover, the background of the video was a white bed.

How was it possible that they could take her somewhere with a bed so soon?

Without a doubt, she was in a room in this hotel.

However, the hotel featured 20 floors. Which room could she be in?

Ebony watched the video again.

Lloyd, however, walked straight to the elevator.

Surprised, she hurriedly caught up with him and asked, "You know where she is?"

Instead of answering her question, he pressed a button.

The button indicated the 20th floor. She frowned and shifted her attention back to the video.

When it was played to the last second, her eyes lit up. She said, "Oh, I see it now."

At the end of the video, the camera shook and captured a glass of water. From the reflection of the glass, they could roughly tell that the photographer should be somewhere high. He should be on any floor between the 18th and 20th.

She paused the video, looked closer, and found that there was a high chance that he was on the 20th floor. That could be told from the ratio of the sky outside the window to the building. It was 1:1, which meant that the filming position was closer to the sky, so the kidnapper was quite likely to be on the top floor.

They reached the 20th floor and focused on the rooms on the right side given the orientation of the building.

There were a total of 15 rooms. They studied the angle and further narrowed the scope down to three.

Standing in front of the three rooms, Ebony stroked her chin and asked, "Which one do you think she is in?"

Lloyd ignored her, took out his phone, and browsed the booking site of the hotel.

He took a look and stopped at the door to Room 2021.

Ebony stood on tiptoe, peeked at his phone, and saw that Room 2020 and Room 2023 had been booked.

Room 2021 became the only suspicious place.

Lloyd took half a step back, stuck his hands into his pockets, and looked at her coldly. "Would you like to open it?"

She cringed, looked at him, and asked, "Is this sort of trespassing?"

Lloyd gave no response, and there was no expression on his face.

Ebony scratched her face, looked around, and saw a cleaning trolley around the corner. She went over, removed a wheel, and picked up a small piece of iron from its core. With it, she came back, squatted down, and poked at the keyhole of the electronic lock.

Two minutes later, the lock opened with a click.

Lloyd observed, and his eyes dimmed further.

In Bierske, Max also saw Ebony's operation through the surveillance of the hotel.

Her techniques were familiar to the eye.

Sure enough, she was...

Ebony pushed the door open, put away the iron clip, and looked at Lloyd.

The man was looking at her. His dark eyes were icy cold.

She said in a hurry, "It's not trespassing as you said!"

"I didn't say anything," he responded indifferently.

With that, he went into the room.

Ebony hurriedly followed.

Sure enough, Kara was lying on the bed.

Following a glance, he headed to the bed and reached out to check on her.

Ebony immediately shouted, "What are you doing?"

Lloyd looked back at her.

She trotted over, blocked his way, and said, "You can't touch her."

He raised an eyebrow. "Reason?"

Ebony bared her teeth. "You just can't!"

She pushed him away and went to check out Kara's condition herself.

The girl was just asleep. She stood up, looked back at him, and muttered, "Lloyd."

The man ignored her.

She went over, suddenly held his waist, and looked up at him.

Lloyd reached out to push her away.

Ebony refused to let go. Her eyes swiveled. She rested her chin on his chest, looked at him, and asked, "Do you like noodles? I have some recommendations for you."

The man looked down at her and waited to see what games she was playing.

She grinned and said, "Spaghetti, pasta, ramen... I am your noodle!"

Lloyd froze.

He turned his face to one side. The corners of his mouth curved up a little.

She immediately pointed to his face and said, "You're smiling and no longer upset!"

Feeling helpless, he sighed, wrapped his arms around her waist, and said blandly, "Just this once."

Ebony didn't care if she would do it again. Anyway, she agreed and nodded vigorously. "Definitely!"

Max was stunned to see it.

He cocked his brows and narrowed his gray eyes.

In a moment, he took out his phone to make a call.

Lloyd's phone rang.

He took it out. The caller ID was unknown, but he could tell who it was from the location.

He glanced at Ebony, pressed the answer button, and turned on the speaker.

Ebony watched, had no idea why her master was calling Lloyd, and hurriedly eavesdropped.

Max's indifferent voice came from the other end of the phone. "I think you're curious about one thing as I am."

Lloyd raised an eyebrow.

Ebony's heart tightened in an instant.

Max snorted and said coldly, "If I'm not wrong, she is sort of my..."

She was so nervous that her fingers clutched Lloyd's clothes.

Lloyd studied the expression on her face.

"We learned from the same teacher."

Ebony was stunned.

Lloyd was too.

She gawked at the phone. The man on the other end thought that he had found out the truth. His tone was filled with arrogance and pride.

She listened for a while and then lost her patience. One finger stretched out and poked the on-hook button.

The phone was hung up. She looked at Lloyd and said solemnly, "Maybe I knocked the wits out of him last time. Lloyd, you can't play with a fool. Don't answer his calls again, okay?"
