Chapter 305 Rebirth Might Be Illegal

The phone was hung up, but Max could see Lloyd and Ebony through the surveillance.

He could hear them too.

The viperous man pulled a long face. Beside him, the subordinate cringed and pretended that he didn't hear anything.

Max held up his phone. Rather than call Lloyd again, he dialed another number.

Kara woke up to find herself lying on the bed of a hotel room. Ebony was sitting next to her.

In a daze, she sat up, rubbed her forehead, and called out, "Ebo?"

Ebony was playing with her phone. Seeing the girl wake up, she put the phone down and walked over. "You're awake."

Kara asked with confusion, "What... happened to me?"

It looked like she couldn't remember anything. Ebony's eyes swiveled, and she told a lie, "You were poisoned by gas."

Kara looked at her in dismay.

She rubbed her temples, recalled, and remembered everything. She said emotionally, "No! I was kidnapped!"

Kara remembered it, so Ebony had no choice but to talk through her hat, "Wrong, I found you poisoned at the entrance to the bathroom. Then I booked a room, and took you here for a rest."

Ebony asserted that she was poisoned by gas, but it was different from what Kara remembered.

She stroked her nose and said, "As far as I remember, someone gagged me from behind. There was a pungent smell, and then I passed out."

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Ebony patted her on the back and comforted her. "It makes sense that you would think so. I heard that people poisoned by gas would hallucinate. I think that was your hallucination."

Kara looked at her and asked with uncertainty, "Really?"

Ebony sincerely nodded. "Yeah. Otherwise, why would the kidnappers want to kidnap you? Look at your clothes. No one's taken them off, right?"

Kara immediately looked at her clothes and found them intact.

She started doubting herself. After a long silence, she looked at Ebony who explained everything in detail. In the end, she was convinced and thanked Ebony. "Turns out I was poisoned by gas, and you saved me. Thank you, Ebo."

Ebony was relieved to see the girl buy it and said, "You're welcome. I'm glad to help."

"Where are the others?" Kara asked.

Ebony showed her the phone. It was midnight. The drug was so potent that Kara had been asleep since the evening.

She was taken aback. "It's so late. Will we stay here for the night?"

Ebony shook her head. "No, we have to go. Lloyd is waiting downstairs. I'm a married woman. I can't spend the night outside."

Kara was puzzled.

Ebony urged her, "Come on, get up and put on your shoes."

Kara was stunned.

A few minutes later, Ebony led Kara down to the first floor. Lloyd was sitting in the lounge on the left side of the lobby, reading magazines.

Ebony saw him and rushed over.

Kara followed and pouted unhappily.

When they were about to leave, she said, "We haven't checked out yet. Ebo, you're holding the room card, right?"

Ebony was stunned.

Kara headed toward the front desk.

Ebony hurriedly checked her and said, "Lloyd has checked out."

Surprised, Kara looked at Lloyd with disdain. "How come he was holding the room card? Wasn't it you who got it before we left the room?"

Ebony couldn't tell her that she had broken in. Instead, she mumbled, "Anyway, we have checked out. Come on, let's go!"

Kara was dumbfounded.

On the way back, Lloyd served as the driver.

20 minutes later, Ebony saw Kara home.

Standing at the door to her house, she watched the black car go into the garage of the villa next door.

She snorted and felt jealous.

Ebony and Lloyd went back home. As soon as she entered the house, she found a change.

The monitors in the living room, the kitchen, the dining room, and other spots on the first floor had all been removed.

Originally, there were at least 20 rocker cameras in the house. Now they were all gone.

This was normal. As this project would end tomorrow, it made sense for the equipment to be put away today.

She looked at the somewhat empty hall and then at the man beside her.

It happened that Lloyd was looking at her.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she hurried upstairs.

However, the back of her collar was grabbed.

Lloyd pulled her back and wrapped his arm around her waist. His dark eyes stared at her anxious eyes, and he asked calmly, "What are you running from?"

Ebony pushed his chest but failed to push him away. In a panic, she said, "I... I've told you everything. I have no relations with Max. What senior fellow apprentice? Nonsenses! I don't even know him!"

Lloyd calmly looked at the girl in his arms. After a while, he buried his forehead in her neck and bent down to hold her. "I just want to hold you."

Ebony was surprised.

Their skin was stuck together.

He then let go of her, adjusted her wrinkled collar, and said in a deep voice, "Sleep tight."

Till she went back to her room, had a shower, and went to bed, she was still thinking about his action.

She could feel that he had wanted to ask her for the truth. He held back because he had sensed her reluctance to tell.

As Max said, they were both curious about one thing.

Only she couldn't tell him.

This whole rebirth thing was supernatural.

It might be illegal, who knew?

She sighed, got under the blanket, covered her head, and muttered, "Forget it."

Early the next morning, the staff members came to help the guests carry their luggage.

Their luggage would be mailed back to their houses.

Ebony put Rolls-Royce into the cage and handed it to a staff member.

The consignment of animals was troublesome. It required a lot of paperwork and all kinds of vaccination certificates. She also had to reserve the aerobic cabin in advance with the airline.

Fortunately, the program teams had that covered.

After watching the baggage car leave, the chief director and the assistant director came over with a stack of paper and pens.

Except for Belinda, who had left earlier, the guests were all there.

The assistant director distributed the stuff to the five guests and said, "When the show is broadcast, the program team will mail you the gifts from the sponsors. Now you need to fill in your addresses so that we can go on with our work."

Ebony hurriedly took the paper and pen before the others did when she heard that there were gifts. Then she quickly filled in the address of her home.

After that, she noticed that Lloyd was empty-handed and didn't fill in anything. She asked in surprise, "Why don't you fill out the form?"

The other three guests and the two directors also looked over.

Lloyd didn't say anything. Instead, he took Ebony's form and wrote down his name in front of hers. The card was then handed to the assistant director. "We share the same address."
