Chapter 290 Lloyd's Scheme Had Failed


Yvan was speechless.


After being stunned for a moment, Yvan said, "I heard that you were injured, so I came over to check on you."


Then, Virginia took two steps back.


Yvan was speechless.


Yvan was a little helpless and said, "Virginia?"

Yvan looked at Lloyd and then at Ebony. He had noticed the interaction between Lloyd and Ebony. Then he chuckled and picked up a piece of meat with his chopsticks and put it in his mouth.


The next second, Yvan froze.


After trying to swallow the meat, Yvan took a sip of water and asked, "Did Ebony make the dinner?"


Ebony's ears turned red. Then, she immediately said, "Yes. Yeah."


Yvan nodded his head and said, "It's delicious."


Upon hearing his words, Ebony breathed a sigh of relief. Then she picked up her chopsticks and ate the piece of meat Lloyd had put in her bowl.


The next moment, Ebony froze.


Ebony took a tissue and spit out the meat. She looked at the plate of meat in shock. Then, she suddenly remembered that it was Lloyd who was cooking while she was on the phone with Yvan's.


Ebony was dumbfounded. Then she asked Lloyd, "Did you put salt in it?"


Lloyd was stunned. He looked at Ebony's face and then at the dish. After a moment of silence, he said, "Believe it or not, I saw the salt jump into the pan with my own eyes."


Ebony was speechless.


Ebony didn't want to say anything anymore and pushed the plate of meat aside. Then, she awkwardly said to Yvan, "Try something else."


Yvan then used his chopsticks to eat other dishes and didn't mention what had happened.


After that, it was mostly Lloyd and Yvan talking during dinner.


Halfway through dinner, Lloyd glanced at Virginia, who was being fed with the "cripple meal" by Ebony, and said to Yvan, "Are you here to pick up Virginia?"


Yvan said, "I got a call from Darryl. He said she was injured, so I came to check on her."


Lloyd nodded and said, "She was seriously injured. The doctor said if her wound was any worse, she would lose her arm."


Yvan was speechless.


Ebony was speechless.


Virginia was speechless.


Ebony was shocked. She thought, 'How could Lloyd talk nonsense? It's just a graze. How could he say Virginia is going to lose her arm? If Yvan had heard about it, he would think she tortured his daughter!'

However, Virginia was upset and immediately said, "I don't want to go. Uncle Darryl said I could stay with Ebony until Monday!"

Ebony blushed. With a determined look, she said, "She is entirely welcome."

Ebony thought she should take the initiative. Then she picked up a piece of ribs with chopsticks and put it into Yvan's bowl.


Yvan smiled. Then, he also raised the chopsticks and returned a piece of meat..


At once, they looked happy at the dinner table.

Virginia was amused to see Ebony and her dad passing on food in each other's bowl. Then she tried to grab a small spoon, scooped up a spoonful of minced meat, and put it into her dad's bowl.
