Chapter 289 I am Yvan
Ebony reached out and scraped the tip of Virginia's nose as she said, "Nonsense."
Virginia looked at Ebony pitifully and then buried her face in Ebony's arms.
Lloyd brought a fruit-flavored candy. Then he unwrapped the candy and fed it to Virginia's mouth.
After eating the candy, Virginia smacked the tip of her tongue and felt the sweetness on it. Then teardrops hung on her long eyelashes. Finally, she stopped crying.
Then Ebony glanced at Lloyd.
Lloyd said calmly, "She likes eating candies."
He often helped the Gibson family to take care of Virginia, so he knew some of Virginia's preferences very well.
After saying that, he took another candy and handed it to Xander.
After taking the candy, Xander responded, "Thank you, Mr. Vasquez."
After that, he held the candy in his hand and did not eat it. Then, he looked at Virginia with a worried look.
Ebony picked Virginia up and said to the doctor, "Thank you."
After they walked out, Xander suddenly stood on his tiptoes and handed the candy he was holding to Virginia, who was hiding in Ebony's arms, and said, "Virginia, you can have my candy."
Virginia looked at Xander and then at Ebony.
Ebony smiled and said, "Take it if you want it."
Virginia hesitantly held out her finger and took the candy. Then, she whispered, "Thank you, Xander."
Xander grinned.
Because Virginia was injured, the others were no longer in the mood to play.
Then they headed back. When they got home, it was almost 3 p.m.
They didn't have a big meal at lunch and only had a quick snack at the amusement park.
Ebony put Virginia, who was crying and had swollen eyes, on the couch. While watching Virginia eat her candy, Ebony asked, "Are you hungry?"
Virginia touched her flat little tummy and nodded.
Ebony said, "There are still some ingredients in the fridge. I'll cook something for you. Guys, you can eat something else first. We'll have a delicious dinner tonight, okay?"
Virginia said in an obedient tone, "Okay. Thanks, mom."
Ebony stroked Virginia's head.
At that moment, Lloyd suddenly said, "Thanks, Ebony."
Ebony was speechless.
Ebony glared at Lloyd, then got up and went into the kitchen. She didn't even look at Lloyd from the beginning to the end!
Lloyd was used to Ebony acting like this. And he did not even look upset.
Ten minutes later, Ebony came out of the kitchen with three bowls of sausage fried rice.
Because Virginia's hands were bandaged, someone had to feed her.
At this point, the three of them sat at the table. Then Ebony said to Lloyd, "Eat your food. I'll feed her."
Ebony then took a small spoon, scooped up a spoonful of fried rice, and put it to Virginia's lips.
Virginia opened her mouth and ate it. Then, her small cheeks puffed out.
At that moment, Lloyd took a spoon out of the kitchen. Then, he also scooped up a spoonful of fried rice and then put it to Ebony's lips.
Ebony was speechless.
Ebony looked at Lloyd.
Lloyd said, "You feed her. Then I'll feed you. Is this not okay with you?"
Lloyd saw that Ebony was still not making a move. Then he put another piece of sausage on top of the spoonful of fried rice and put it to Ebony's lips again.
Ebony was torn for a moment. Then, she opened her mouth and ate it.
After that, the atmosphere in the restaurant suddenly became strange.
After Ebony fed Virginia, Lloyd fed Ebony. Then they took turns in this order. If one didn't know what was going on, one would think they were playing passing the parcel.
After a while, the doorbell suddenly rang.
It was one of the crew who arrived here.
The staff came to ask about Virginia's injury and asked if she would like to continue to participate in the show.
As soon as Virginia heard that someone was picking her up, she went over and hugged Ebony. Then she pouted and said, "I'm not going."
The staff kindly explained, "We're not trying to kick you out of the show. Virginia, aren't you injured? Don't you want to go back to see your parents?"
Virginia immediately kept shaking her head and said anxiously, "My mom and dad are right here!"
Lloyd suddenly said from the side, "Not really."
Virginia immediately looked at Lloyd. Her big eyes were filled with tears, and she was about to cry.
Ebony hugged Virginia and then scolded Lloyd. "Why are you irritating her?"
Lloyd didn't say another word.
When the staff saw that Virginia wanted to stay here, he did not force her to leave.
In the evening, while Ebony was cooking dinner, Lloyd's cell phone suddenly rang.
Lloyd answered the phone. After talking to the person on the other end of the line for a while, he walked to the kitchen with the phone and handed it to Ebony.
At that moment, Ebony was stir-frying the ingredients. She asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"
Lloyd said, "It's Yvan."
Ebony froze and then paused abruptly.
Then Lloyd took the spatula from her hand and put the phone in her hand as he said, "Answer it."
Ebony grabbed the phone. After a moment's hesitation, she nervously put the earpiece to her ear.
A man's light and gentle voice from the other side of the phone came into Ebony's ears. "Hello?"
Ebony squeezed her fingers for a moment. She stammered for a moment before saying, "Hello. Hello..."
Lloyd chuckled and asked, "Ebony?"
Ebony suddenly grabbed Lloyd's shirt and frantically pleaded with him for help.
Lloyd held her hand in his hand to reassure her silently.
Ebony swallowed her saliva. Then, she said, "Yes, I am..."
Yvan's gentle voice came into Ebony's ears. "I'm Yvan."
Ebony looked at Virginia, who was playing with Rolls-Royce in the living room, then hurriedly said, "I-I know. You are Virginia's father..."
Virginia was Yvan's daughter. However, because Yvan had a special job, he usually rarely appeared in public. Therefore, Virginia was practically brought up by Zachary and Darryl as a child.
During Ebony's previous meetings with the Gibson family, she had met her parents, Zachary, Darryl, Rosie, Lydia, and several other nieces and nephews.
However, she had not met Chadwick, Jonathan, and Yvan.
Yvan continued to speak in his clear voice. "Are... Are you at No. 7 Joy Road, right?"
Ebony was speechless.
Ebony froze.
She instantly looked out the door and said, "Are...you..."
Yvan said calmly, "I'm almost there."
As soon as Ebony hung up the phone, she immediately pushed Lloyd away with her butt. And then she took the spatula and quickly stir-fried up the ingredients!
Lloyd was pushed aside by her. Then, he looked at her with a slight frown and raised his eyebrows. "What's going on?"
Ebony panicked as she said, "Yvan... Yvan's coming! You go wash the tomatoes. You wash all those ingredients and then cut them into small cubes! Hurry up! Go! Quickly!"
Lloyd was speechless.
Fifteen minutes later, the doorbell rang.
Ebony became clumsy with fear for a moment!
Lloyd touched her head and said, "It's okay."
Lloyd said as he went to open the door.
Yvan was standing outside the door wearing a light gray shirt and smiling lightly.
Yvan looked different from Jon, who had a calm personality, and Darryl, who had a domineering personality. He was the most refined and gentle one of the five siblings in the Gibson family.
He looked more like his mother. He had a handsome and gorgeous face.
When he saw the one who answered the door, Yvan greeted him with a smile, "Lloyd."
Lloyd nodded as he said familiarly, "Please come in and talk."
"Dad?" Virginia, who was playing with Rolls-Royce, suddenly saw her dad appear. Then, her eyes widened in shock for a moment.
Yvan waved as he affectionately said to Virginia, "Virginia, did you miss me?"
Virginia was speechless.
Virginia stood hesitantly on the spot. After quite a while, she suddenly took a step back.
