Chapter 041 My Husband Is Angry, What Should I Do

Chapter 041 My Husband Is Angry, What Should I Do?
At noon, Hubert suddenly went to Teresa's bookstore.
When he arrived at the bookstore, Teresa and Gwendolyn were just finishing their work. They were going to eat their take-out when Hubert walked in.
Teresa was startled and watched in awe as he entered in stride.
Hubert walked right up to her. He lowered his head slightly and asked, "You didn't recognize me?"
Teresa came back to her senses and laughed, "I'm surprised. What brings you here? Have you had lunch yet? If not, I'll order another one for you."
Gwendolyn said hello to Hubert. She read the room. Picking up her share of take-out, she hid behind a large bookshelf to eat. She didn't stay there to disturb the two.
"I have had my lunch. You didn't have your lunch until now?"
Hubert raised his wrist to look at his wristwatch. It was almost one in the afternoon. He frowned and said to Teresa, "You should have lunch on time. Don't starve, or it will harm your stomach. It's troublesome to recover from a stomachache."
He had a business lunch today. He went to the hotel at eleven o'clock to have a business lunch with a client. He went to Teresa only after he was full.
If he knew she hadn't eaten by this time, he would have asked her to accompany him to that business lunch.
Wait?
No!
He went to that lunch as the President of the Donovan Group. Bringing her with him would expose his real identity.
Hubert was shocked by his sudden thought. But he kept his expression calm. He said to Teresa indifferently, "Bring your take-out, you can eat in the car. I'll take you to a place."
"Where? Is it so urgent?"
Hubert did not explain. He turned around and headed out.
After a silent pause, Teresa picked up the bag of the take-out and told Gwendolyn. Then, she hurriedly followed Hubert out.
When she got into the car, she asked, "Where exactly are we going? Do we have to go now?"
Hubert still didn't explain. Seeing that she couldn't get an answer, Teresa just had to eat her meal first.
When she finished eating, Hubert parked his car.
Teresa got off and looked around. It turned out that he had brought her to a car dealership.
"You take me here to buy a car? My electric bike is fixed and Ezra has arranged for someone to send my bike back. It's just that one of the wires broke for whatever reason. That's why it won't run."
Teresa walked to the trash can and threw away the take-out box. Seeing Hubert enter the dealership without a word, she followed him into the shop even though she was muttering secretly.
Hubert had already offered to help her with the down payment on a four-wheeled car.
But she thought her bookshop was not far from Florence Garden. And it was convenient to commute to work by electric bike. So, she politely refused him.
She didn't expect him to bring her here today to buy a car.
"I have a meeting at 3:00. So, make it quick. When you make your choice, I'll pay for it and go back to the office."
Hubert said to Teresa, "You don't need to look at the price of the car. Just look at the appearance, you should choose the one you like. And see the performance of the car. Take a test dry. If the one you choose is handy, we will buy it."
Teresa came up to him and whispered, "What if I see a car that costs more than $30,000? Expensive cars will need more money for a down payment. How much is the one you usually drive? I'll buy the same brand as the one you have."
Hubert's Chevrolet was around $20,000. His dark eyes twinkled. He said in a light tone, "Then you pick a Chevrolet. Do you like black or white?"
"Black. White stains easily."
Hubert gave a "hmm".
He liked the black car too. At this point, their preferences were the same.
Having determined which brand they wanted, it was much easier to choose.

Teresa took a little test drive in a few cars. In the end, she chose an SUV. Hubert also took a test drive and felt the car was acceptable. So, it was a deal.
Teresa thought she would have to wait a few days to pick up the car after making the down payment. She didn't expect Hubert to have paid the full amount. So, she could drive the car back to her bookshop right now.
"I thought it was just a down payment?"
Teresa asked him in a whisper.
"The car you picked is not expensive. So, if we can pay it in full, we should do that."
Teresa, "Oh." And then, she whispered, "I'll transfer half the amount to you later."
Hubert gave her a look, "No need."
Teresa blinked.
No need. So, was he buying her a car as a gift?
Although the car she picked wasn't expensive, it cost about $20,000. Although they were married, they hadn't been married long enough to know each other. In particular, they had signed an agreement to get divorced after six months.
He suddenly gave her a $20,000 car for no reason, which made Teresa's heart pound. She couldn't help but dragged him out of the dealership and asked him, "Mr. Donovan, can you tell me the reason why you suddenly gave me a car? If you don't tell me clearly, I can't feel at ease when I use it. And I'm afraid I owe you a huge favor."
The favor was the most difficult debt to repay.
Hubert looked at her.
After a while, he looked away. Teresa noticed that his handsome face was slightly flushed.
She felt a bit speechless.
"Last night, um, I misunderstood you..."
Teresa suddenly understood. "You misunderstood me. So, you felt sorry. And then you suddenly gave me a car as an apology gift?"
Hubert looked her in the eyes and thought, 'Luckily, she's not stupid. She gets it.'
"Last night we've settled this already. You have apologized to me. Although I was really angry at the time, I'm totally cool with you now. You don't need to spend so much money to buy me a car as an apology."
"It will be more convenient for you if you have a car."
Teresa certainly knew the convenience of having a car.
"If I'm going to buy this car, I'll pay for it. Or, I won't buy it. And, Mr. Donovan, you've said that you will give me your car when we get divorced six months later. So, I'll have a car then."
Hubert choked.
He had written that agreement. And he had asked her to sign it.
But at this moment, when he heard her mention that they would get divorced in six months, Hubert still felt a little gloomy.
Soon, his expression turned cold. He said in an indifferent tone, "Do you have money to pay for the car now? If not, I'll pay first. And you can transfer it to me later."
"I don't have it now. I can transfer it to you when I get home tonight."
Hubert said nothing more. He left Teresa alone and went back to the car dealership.
After he paid for the car, he didn't wait for Teresa. He got into his car and said to Teresa, "I'll go back to the office first."
And then, he drove off.
Teresa watched him drive away and muttered, "Is he angry with me? Is he mad at me for being so clear with him? He said he would divorce me after six months. So, of course, I have to be clear with him, in case I have to pay for a bunch of things in the divorce and get my mood ruined."
Although she and Hubert did not have love, divorce was not a happy thing anyway. It was something that would affect the mood. And if he asked her for compensation, it would ruin her mood. So, she was just being prepared in advance.
Then he was unhappy.
Even if Hubert was unhappy, Teresa was adamant.
When she returned to the store with a new car, Gwendolyn asked gossipingly, "So, you two went car shopping just then? I thought you two were going to the hotel... You know... Hahaha."
Teresa rolled her eyes at Gwendolyn. "Stop your wild guess. I didn't expect that he would take me to buy a car. Well, come on, Gwen, look at my new car."
It was the very first car in her life.
