Chapter 160 Their First Private Meet
"There are some things that once missed, will be missed forever."
"Trust me, I promise that I will never do it again. Aiden, I have done a lot for you and the company and have been honest to you and treated you with all my heart over these years. I did it just because of a momentary lapse this time.... "
"I can take the blame for you if you killed someone or set fire. But now, you are forcing a good person to some bad things. How can I help you?"
"You can just pretend that you don't know, and if it is just between you and me, no one will know it. Help me please, Aiden. It took me so much efforts to become who I am today, and it also took us so much efforts to become who we are today."
Bobby Smith was really feared. Having fought side by side with Aiden Cater all thses years, he hasn't been feared for a long time. Because he thought whatever happened to him, Aiden Cater would protect him. But what he didn't expect was that it was Aiden Cater who was gonna gang up against him now.
Aiden Cater was indifferent, and he calmly replied, "There are a lot of things that you cannot deny theirs existence. If we all pretended that we don't know, then what about Jane? Who can be reponsible for her misfortune?"
"I'll go and beg her to forgive me." said Bobby Smith.
Aiden said, "You can go and find her if you are not afraid of going to jail and see if she will forgive you or send you to jail. "
Bobby grabbed his hair with his hands, regretting all the things he did.
Aiden said calmly, "Be catious in the future. Even if you don't break the law or commit a crime, you have to see if it is against your conscience."
Doing things against your conscience will lead to big troubles sooner or later.
Bobby lowered his head and struggled to say, "Aiden, I don't want to leave. I've been worked with you since I left college, where can I go now?"
Aiden said, "I remember everything you've done for me, but this is the end. Not only you and I who know about this, but Ken has also taken the blame for you. You know his temper, just leave S City as soon as possible."
To Bobby, he has been worked for him for many years and just did the wrong thing accidently. Aiden was too heartless. But so was Aiden, he only gave him the dismissal for their fomer friendship's sake.
Hearing the name of Ken, Bobby was terrified. Knowing it was nonnegotiable, he handed in his resignation on the spot, ending the beautiful status of Aiden's classmate and partner and also losing the job that paied millions a year. And he knew that no matter he applied for a job or went it alone, as long as it was a project he was in charge of, Aiden would not cooperate with him.
Was this punishment serious? It varied from person to person. In the adult world, being poor was the same as being dead. Aiden has given him the most affectionate and also the least affectionate punishment, causing him to lose ten years of struggle overnight.
Seeing Bobby went out from Aiden's office, those outsiders didn't know what happeded. They just thought that he looked awful, and still greeted him as usual, "Mr. Smith."
Bobby turned a deathly shade of white. Nothing left.
Jane's birthday was November 26th in the lunar calendar. It was not Sunday, so she still had to clock in at the company.
Charles was thoughtful and had already told Aaron long ago. So when Jane arrived at the company in the morning, everyone gathered and celebrated her birthday together.
Of course, they did this not because that Jane was popular, but because the big boss Mr. Lee took the initiative to plan this out, and also because of the powerful resources behind her. Some of them really liked her, some just didn't dare to affend her, and others just were peacemakers. So seeing this, one might think that Jane was very popular in the company.
About ten or twenty minutes of fun in the morning, the rest of the time was spent as usual. Jane went to the Smith family for class, and came back in the afternoon. When she was walking upstairs, her phone rang, then she took it out...
It was Aiden Cater.
Jane was stunned for seconds, then found a quiet place to connect. "Hello?"
She was afraid that it was Ken who called her with Aiden's phone just like last time. So she didn't respond at once.
A man's calm voice came from the phone. "This is Aiden Cater."
Ken couldn't imitate his voice. "Hello Mr. Cater." Jane quickly answered.
Jane called him Aiden last time before she left on his birthday party. But she was not used to it, so she choosed to be polite and called him Mr. Cater.
Aiden said as usual, "Hello. Do you have a minute?"
"Yes."
Jane thought he was asking if she got time to answer the phone. But Aiden said, "I am downstairs in your company. If you are free, can we meet now?"
This was just like Crayon Shin-chan suddenly sent Aaron an invitation to meet. Who can refuse his or her idol?
Jane took a breath, nodded and replied, "Okay, please tell me the specific location, I'll come now."
Aiden said, "In front of ICBC."
There was an ICBC downstaris the Forward Education. Jane responded and hung up the phone, then turned around and walked out. When she was out of the building and looked to the left, there was a tall and conspicuous figure standing in front of the bank, wearing a long black trench coat. It was Aiden Cater.
Jane walked over, while Aiden turned his head. "Mr. Cater." she greeted with smile.
Aiden said, "You come so fast."
Jane said, "I just returned to the company and haven't gone upstairs yet."
"No wonder."
He was not good at talking in private, especially with female. Jane knew this after meeting him a few times. So she took the initiative to ask, "Why are you here?"
Aiden said, "If you are not busy, let's find a place to talk."
Jane shook her head. "I'm not busy. "
"Then wait a minute, I'll drive the car over. "
"Ok."
Just as Aide left, a colleague of Jane in Forward Education came out of the bank. She greeted and said, "Miss Cooper, happy birthday."
"Thank you."
Standing 6.6 feet away, Aiden heard it clearly.
His car was parked nearby, so it only took him one or two minute to drove over. Jane got into his car. "Have you eaten yet?" asked Aiden.
Jane was very tense. "Yes." she replied nervously.
"I don't come here often. Where do you want to go?"
Hearing this, Jane automatically thought that he was asking her to introduce the place for talking. So she said a place, and then Aiden drove the car over.
It was a tea shop with a nice environment. And teachers usually met clients here. It was quiet and private. Most importantly, Jane felt inexplicably that Aiden was not a coffee drinker or a person had a sweet tooth. He was quiet and even cold, just liked a pot of tea.
The two got out of the car and entered the store. Aiden took the initiative to ask the clerk for a single room. After ordering, Jane was a little bit cramped when the clerk left. This was the first time she sat face-to-face with Aiden alone.
Aiden spoke first, "I came to see you today because I have something to tell you."
For fear that Aiden's words would fall on the ground, Jane replied quickly, and just liked a comedy nemesis."Just say it."
Aiden said, "I heard that you did not feeling well after the 19th. Recently, I've looked into it and found that it was Bobby Smith who did that to you. I have already dimissed him, and I'm so sorry."
Hearing this, Jane got more and more gloomy.
