Chapter 194 Challenge Her Bottom Line

Chapter 194 Challenge Her Bottom Line
The man at the tea table stood up and stepped towards Jane Cooper. Only when they were face to face did she realise how tall he was. He was about the same height as Edward Smith, towering over her.
Jane thought he was going to hit her, but his hand calmly passed over her ear. He closed the window that had been left open. Her hair, which had been slightly blown by the wind, stopped swinging instantly.
Retracting his hand, the man's gaze was flirtatious and teasing, "You know to be afraid?"
Jane remained silent. She didn't have to struggle against human nature because fear is an instinct.
The man said, "I'll give you one more chance."
Jane cut him off before he could finish, saying, "I'll give you another chance too, this is S City. You'd better pick a good place if you want to cause Edward trouble.
The man stared at Jane's good-looking but defiant face and said, "You'd rather put yourself on the line for him?"
Jane said, "If I ask him to come over, I'm also risking. Both are deaths. If you kill me, Edward will definitely defend me."
The man smiled, "You want to be a servant?"
Jane looked away, ignoring him.
Jane ignored him and turned her head.
When he noticed this, the man pulled out his phone and dialed a number. Jane overheard him remark, "I have your man, come to Moonshadow, alone," shortly after that.
After saying that, he brought the phone closer to Jane and said, "Speak."
Jane remained silent as she noticed the word "Edward Smith" written on the screen.
The fist stopped in front of Jane's upturned nose. She instinctively shouted, "Call the police!"
The man withdrew his phone and turned back to the tea table, "You hear me? Do it yourself, or I'll kill her."
The phone hung up. He questioned while sitting down and making tea, "Do you think Edward will come?"
Jane was annoyed. She looked at the man with a cold and hard glare. Even Barlow was muttering inwardly. As a woman, a tutor, where did she get such a strong hostility?
The man sipped his tea and looked sideways at Jane, said in a kind voice, "Miss Cooper, don't be angry, I'll let you go when Edward comes."
After saying that, he then asked, "Are you and Edward just a client and tutor?"
Jane said, "Soon you and I will be the relationship between the plaintiff and the defendant."
The man lost his smile, "What subject do you teach? Sharp-tongued."
Jane said, "Intimidation and threatening to limit the personal freedom of another person is punishable by up to three years of fixed-term imprisonment. Causing serious injury is punishable by more than three years and less than ten years. Causing death, more than ten years."
The man said, "Now you are the one intimidating me, right?"
Jane said, "If you are clever enough, you should hurry up and escape. Edward is not a fool. He will not come but only call the police."
The man was visibly painless, "Yeah, well."
Jane said, "Of course, unless Edward is an idiot, otherwise he would be foolish to be here.
Ten minutes later, the closed door of the room was suddenly pushed open from the outside. Jane raised his eyes to look over. A tall and long figure exposed, with a familiar face and short hair.
He soon saw Jane standing against the wall. They looked at each other. Her eyes were quite complicated as if she was nervous, or as if she was asking, You didn't come alone, did you?

The man at the tea table said joyfully, "What did I say? Miss Cooper, you've lost."
What a loss or a gain, as if she had even placed a bet with him, Jane didn't have time to listen to.
Edward looked at Jane from head to toe, and spoke with a tense face, "Where's your phone? Why didn't you pick up the phone when I called you?"
Jane's big eyes revealed-What?
Is this the right time to ask such a question?
The man at the other end said, "Barlow, go get Miss Cooper's phone back."
It appears that the door was unlocked because Barlow simply walked over to it and opened it.
The man looked at Jane and Edward, and couldn't help but laugh, "Edward, where did you find such a treasure? I gave her thirty million dollars so she could call you, but she never did and threw the phone away."
Jane's eyes appeared to be slightly confused. It was challenging for her for a time to collect herself.
The tightness in Edward's throat was released. His attention left Jane's face as he strolled over to the tea table and sat down. He received a cup of tea from the man. "Fourth brother, what type of game is this?" Edward asked as he extended his hand to accept it.
Alan Jones said with a light laugh, "To help you test the loyalty of the people around you, and to get rid of those who are not loyal before it's too late."
Edward took a sip of his tea, his mind was filled with what Alan had just said, "Poverty cannot be removed, and power cannot be surrendered."
Alan looked sideways at Jane with a pleasant face, "Miss Cooper, come and sit down."
Jane couldn't describe how she felt at this moment, especially after Edward sat calmly. Her deepest feelings of worry and anxiousness quickly transformed into rage. She remained still for a little period of time with her back to the wall. She then took a step toward the door without saying anything.
The door to the room was pulled open and someone was guarding it, blocking her path. Jane raised her head and said in a cold voice, "Go away."
Alan looked at Edward with a casual look. Edward's eyelids lifted and he looked at the back of the doorway and said, "Jane."
Jane ignored him and reached out to push the man in front of her. But he was motionless, like an iron tower. Edward frowned and called out again, "Jane Cooper."
A few seconds later, Jane turned around with an expressionless face. But she was suppressing her rage. Not looking at Alan, she asked Edward directly, "Is there anything else for Mr. Smith?"
Although he was also the 'victim' of this incident, he was always to blame. He could understand her anger, so he calmly said, "Come in first."
Jane's chest was riddled with two strands of anger. One was, of course, anger at being teased and fooled, while the other was an attempt to convince herself to be calm and rational.
She has had a lot of resources since she met Edward, as well as a lot of difficulties. Jane suddenly felt the want to let things go. She does not share in his wealth and is not harmed by it.
Edward and Jane stood a few meters away from each other to look at each other. Her face was tense and looked indifferent. He had a feeling. Maybe today was her extreme. If pissed off her, she could quit, what can he do?
As a result, Jane took two steps inside, reached out and closed the door behind her, and she stayed.
Only when his heart was put back in its place did he realise that he had just been on tenterhooks.
Alan twisted his head and said, "Miss Cooper, don't be angry, if you want to be angry, be angry with me, it's none of Edward's business."
