Chapter 152 Earning Money When Resting
Jane rested on Sunday, but she didn't fully recover. She started to cough at night, so Jennifer volunteered to make some stewed pears with sugar to relieve her symptoms. However, Jennifer didn't fully process the ingredients and added too much sugar, so when Jane tasted the food, she said it was cloying.
Jennifer appointed Hunter to go downstairs to buy linctus, but he came back with a bag of Tortoise Jelly, saying that linctus was sold out and this would work too.
Jennifer asked Hunter to read the instruction, so he stood next to Jane, chanting, "It can be used to clear heart fire, to moisten dryness, to detoxify the body, to relieve itching..." It could be used for everything except relieving the cough.
Jane was afraid of being 'killed' by them, so she asked them to go back home hurriedly when she could still say something.
She couldn't teach students with sickness tomorrow, so she could only temporarily tell the company to take two days off. Then she sent a message to Justin that she didn't feel comfortable these days, so she needed two days off.
Justin sent her a message, asking, "What's wrong with you?"
Jane said, "Nothing, I have a little cough, and I'm afraid I'll infect you."
Justin said, "Uncle Edward also has a cough. What's wrong with you guys? Are you so unhealthy?"
Jane hesitated for a moment and replied to him, "Your uncle likes sweets, so let him drink some linctus."
Justin said, "He dislikes the color and refuses to drink it."
Holding the phone, Jane was speechless, and after a few seconds, she said, "Then you can secretly put some medicine into what he eats."
Justin said, "Well, did you betray me? Uncle Edward warned me not to put medicine inside the food he eats."
Jane felt guilty and then sent a three-second voice message over to gain sympathy, which was the sound of a cough.
Justin's bark was worse than his bite. He replied to Jane, "Don't care about others. Hurry up and recover soon."
Jane sent an OK emoji to Justin and told him not to stay up late these two days, to pay attention to Smith, and not to be infected.
After the chat, Jane lay down on her bed, thinking she could rest in peace, but all that came to her mind was Justin's words, "Uncle Edward also has a cough."
The more she thought, the more unpleasant she became. Smith was right that she was a victim, and he was even more innocent. He even had a cold and cough because of her. Jane couldn't be so easily reconciled to herself, but she was too embarrassed to call directly to him. Therefore, she woke up at 10:00 p.m. and prepared to make the stewed pears with sugar.
Pears, sugar, and red dates were stewed in the clay pot, and Jane was peeling pomegranate seeds, and then she juiced them with strawberries. When she finished everything, it was 11:30 p.m..
Lying on the bed again, Jane felt less guilty than before. She decided to send the food to the Smith family by special delivery tomorrow, with the excuse of helping Justin prevent from catching a cold. Justin was a good boy, and he would certainly give some to Smith.
Well, such a good plan.
At seven o'clock in the morning, Jane called the special delivery when she got up. At 7:30, Hunter with a bedhead went upstairs, knocking on the door. Jane opened the door, and he gave her the packed breakfast without entering the room. Then he went to work.
He bought dozens of kinds of breakfast in Chinese and Western styles. There was so much food that it even covered the whole coffee table. Others who saw the scene might think Hunter was taking care of a pregnant woman rather than a patient.
When Jane was eating on the sofa, Jennifer called her, and she mumbled to answer Jennifer. Jennifer said, "Are you eating? I just ordered take-out for you."
Jane swallowed what was in his mouth, "Can you withdraw the order? The food Hunter bought me can be eaten for two days."
Jennifer said, "Forget it. I always live frugally, but at least you are sick. You should eat more bird's nests and fins to get more nutrition."
Jane said without any expression, "Baby, I'm sick. Could you please send me something bland? At least Hunter knows to get me something easy to absorb."
Jennifer said, "That was the food made by Fragrance Restaurant! Baby, I really hesitate to eat it when I'm sick!"
Jane knew that money meant everything to Jennifer, so she immediately said, "Needless to say. I will eat it up even if I'll die."
Jennifer said, "If you can't eat it, I'll help you. Wait for me."
Jane said, "Stop daydreaming."
Jennifer said, "How about you eat half of the food and cover half of the expense?"
Jane, "Goodbye."
Jane was a model worker. When she was in school, she would attend every class unless the teacher was too sick to come to the school. Therefore, these two days off for her were a rare holiday.
Jane rest at home and didn't know that Justin and Henry had gone to the Forward Education in the morning together. They sat down in the meeting room, waiting for Sofia.
When Sofia heard that two boys came to sign the contract, she wondered whose children they were, but once she heard that they were Jane's students, she immediately became alert.
Jane had signed four contracts, two of which were with girls, sot the remaining two were with the Smith and Perez families.
She hurriedly went to the meeting room. She opened the door, and Justin sat directly opposite her. After quickly examining Justin's face, Sofia determined that he must be from the Smith family as Justin was similar to Smith. Justin and Smith might not be alike in appearance, but Justin's temperament of arrogance and indifference was almost the same as Smith's.
Sofia greeted with a smile, "Kids, how are you."
Both Justin and Henry didn't like to be treated like children, especially Henry, who was 1.8 meters high.
Henry said, "We're here to buy more classes with Miss Cooper."
Sofia sat down and said with a smile, "Miss Cooper called in sick today, so she is absent."
Henry said, "I know. We'll give you the money and just wait for her to come to sign the contracts."
Sofia was a little surprised and said, "I remember that Miss Cooper signed quite a few classes with your parents, so I guess there are still a lot of unfinished classes. You don't be no rush to buy more."
Justin raised his eyes and looked at Sofia, "You guys, don't you like the money??"
Sofia met Justin's eyes, and at a time she felt like Smith was sitting there. After a two-second pause, she smiled and replied to Justin, "No, because our company has rules that the contract must be signed by adults to be valid. You're ... under 18 years old, right?"
Henry said, "Our parents are too busy to come here. May I call them to talk with you?"
Sofia didn't understand what Jane said to them. Jane didn't come to the company but earned more money.
Henry made a phone call to Vincent on the spot. Vincent was still sleeping. After he knew what had happened or maybe not, Vincent said in a lazy tone, "Do it. Whatever he wants."
Sofia tried to maintain her smile, "Okay."
Justin called Smith that he would like to buy more classes in Forward Education. Smith asked, "Why?"
Justin said, "For Miss Cooper's birthday, and she is sick."
It was so simple. This was a gift for Jane's birthday and for wishing her to recover soon. Sofia felt shocked and
The call was on the speaker, and Sofia heard Smith's voice, "I'm Justin's parent, and I agree."
Sofia was very afraid of Smith, so she didn't dare to refuse. After the call, she asked people to make the contract. Both the Smith and the Perez families would add 100 classes. Justin and Henry paid the bill by using their own money. They didn't know to send what kinds of gifts to Jane, so they send her the things she needed. They wanted to use this way to celebrate Jane's birthday.
