Chapter 203 Cheer Her Up

Chapter 203 Cheer Her Up
The lover was obviously afraid of the wifeso she immediately turned around and dived into the crowds when she realized that she was being looked at. She shouldn't have acted this way. Because the next moment the wife rushed towards her when the crowds naturally make a way for her. The wife grabbed the lover's hair from the back, pressed her against the floor and slapped on both sides of her face, cursing, "This is what happens when you seduced other women's husbands and broke a family apart..."
The lover covered her face. But the wife didn't stop, she ripped the lover's sweater and the black underwear revealed.
Edward turned away before too late while Jane was looking calm all the time. She pushed the shopping cart and said, "Let's go."
The exit was ahead of them. The two of them walked shoulder by shoulder. The man literally hit his wife to save his cheating lover. The wife was only a woman after all. She was slapped down on the floor and her head hit a shelf beside. She couldn't get up for a while.
People were discussing around them, but no one stepped up. Jane looked stern and she was trying her best to control herself so as not to hit the man with the plates in her shopping cart. It was not that she didn't dare to do it. She was only afraid that she might hurt him seriously and it would be a lot of troubles in consequence.
When she was hesitating, Edward who was standing next to her finally took two steps forward and grabbed the man by his collar and threw a fist at the man's face. The man fell on the floor, dizzy and bleeding on his nose and mouth. He failed to stand up. His wife was right lying on the floor next to him. She was not a weak woman. She grabbed a 15-inches plate laying behind her and hit straight at the man's head.
Some people in the crowd screamed or made sighing noises. The lover was frightened and was ready to run. Jane would never let the starter leave so easily and blocked the lover's the way swiftly.
The lover's hair was a total mess, so was her makeup. She was completely panicked. The wife struggled to stand up and grabbed the lover's hair again and tossed her backwards.
There was a moment when Jane felt that the wife was standing on the edge of abyss, that is, she would fell down if she took a step back. That's why she had to take the unworthy man and the lover with her.
It was unknown that if those people who looked terrific on the outside had a frightening dark abyss inside them. Some of them couldn't stand it and jumped, while some of them were already at the bottom and were struggling to climb out.
It was only a drama or a joke for the watchers, but for those who were in it, they became careless because this was the only way for them to survive.
Sometimes if you didn't punish the wrong, it was like that you were already not living.
Edward clearly saw the coldness on Jane's face and also the sorrow accidentally reveal in her eyes. Two completely different emotions were being seen on one face of one person.
Somehow Edward thought of what Beth said that Jane's mother was a home wrecker.
She could deal with misunderstandings so calmly and didn't forget to name the real criminal in the mean time, which is not because that she was born like this, but because she had been raised up like this and she had turned extremely cold.
Edward walked closer, held the handle of the shopping cart and said to Jane, "Let's go, I'm hungry."
Jane gathered up her thoughts and walked towards the cash desk with Edward. If Edward didn't hit the man, she would have hit the man with the plates anyway. A man like this deserved a good beat-up.
When they were walking, Edward suddenly said,"The old saying that beautiful women cause disasters was right."
Jane tilted her head and replied, "By beautiful disastrous woman, you don't mean me, right?"
Edward answered, "I mean the wife and the woman. But you do deserve the words too."

Jane slightly raised her eyebrows and said, "Wasn't it an unexpected disaster?"
Edward replied, "It was not totally unexpected. There were three women just now and the bad man accidentally picked you."
Jane calmly answered, "So I do have the potential to be a disastrous woman. I'll take that as a compliment. "
Edward said, "It is a compliment."
There was a confusion in Jane's eyes. She turned to look at Edward who was looking straight forward. Edward said, "Are you feeling better?"
Jane stopped.
Edward tilted his head and said, "Some thought you were the home wrecker. At least, it proves that you are beautiful enough."
Jane was even more confused. She wasn't sure if she was understanding Edward's thought correctly. Was he trying to ask her not to be mad by saying all these nonsense?
It was exactly what Edward was thinking. But he didn't want to simply say that she was attractive.
Jane thought for a minute and said, "Thanks."
Edward answered, "You are welcome. I should thank you for bringing me here to expand my horizon."
Jane suddenly felt very funny. Edward did learn a lot today. He learned that a coin was needed to be used for the shopping cart in the supermarket and used banknotes of small value for change when inserting coins; He learnt that not every couple who were saying "honey" to each other was husband and wife, but they might be cheaters; And he learnt that not every woman who looked attractive was a whore, but she might only be a lady who was buying some plates.
"What's so funny?" Edward asked.
Jane quickly shook her head, "Nothing."
Edward plainly said, "You are laughing at me for having never shopped in a supermarket."
Jane was surprised at his smartness but she calmly said, "What's wrong with having not been to a supermarket? I have never seen a backyard which is a zoo. Are you going to laugh at me?"
Edward was speechless. He turned away and stayed silent.
Jane continued, "If you want to expand your horizon, this is the right place for you to come. There's new knowledge for you to learn everyday. "
Edward answered, "Justin once said that he saw two old ladies fighting with an old man over discounted vegetables and the old man had his asthma attack."
Jane added, "There was a news the other day that a mother met her missing son in the supermarket after many years and all the customers were moved to cry. "
Edward pursed his lips and said, "They cried because they didn't get the discounted vegetables, I bet?"
Jane became happy and her laughter became audible. Edward found it very interesting too, as if what had happened was only a little amusement of daily life."
When they arrived at the cash desk, Jane took out her purse. Edward wanted to pay the bill, but Jane seriously said, "No, I have coupons."
Considering this would be a small amount, Edward didn't insist. However, it was only 4.8 dollars cheaper after using the coupons. He really wanted to ask, "What's the point of using coupons?"
Edward didn't pick the goods or pay the money. When they were getting out of the door, Jane was about to carry the bags but Edward finally couldn't bear it any more and said, "Don't make it looks like that I live off your money."
Then he quickly took all the bags when Jane was still stunned. Jane's both hands were empty and she felt uncomfortable, "Come on, let me help you with one."
"No."
"Now it looks like that I've hired myself a bodyguard." She honestly said.
Edward answered, "To hire me as your bodyguard, you are something. "
Jane playfully asked, "Should I walk behind you?"
Edward said, "I'm not free of charge. You are going to cook for dinner."
Jane nodded, "Fair enough."
Jane didn't notice that there was a gleam of light flashed over Edward's eyes. That was happiness. But even Edward himself didn't realize it neither. He only thought the staff who was in charge of changing coins at the door was much less annoying.
