Chapter 122 A Storm of Jealousy

Chapter 122 A Storm of Jealousy
After Wendy's persuasion and warning, Beth agreed to drop the complaint to Forward Education, that is, not to hold Jane accountable.
Wendy said, "When your brother comes back, he will definitely go to Edward, and then you go with him and say sorry to Edward. The face is not as important as you think, especially in the face of the interests of the whole family. You have already taken a false step, and you can't go on the wrong course step by step."
Beth was arrogant at heart, but she also knew that her arrogance came from the background of the Brwon family. She heard for the first time today that her father's official position was not as stable as she thought and her dad still had to rely on the Smith family to support him behind his back. It was she who thought too much. She thought that the Brwon family and the Smith family were helping each other.
S City was not the Browns', but the Smiths'.
While Jane had a meal with Justin and Henry, Forward Education had already received an email to drop the complaint. Charles was a little surprised and called Aiden to report the situation.
Aiden simply said, "Dropping the complaint is better."
Charles asked, "Did you find someone to deal with it?"
"It's not me."
Charles muttered, "That's weird... Could it be Edward? Edward came to the company this morning to explain Jane's behaviors."
Aiden said, "The smaller the matter, the better, and then it can be over as soon as possible."
Charles replied, "I talked to Jane and decided to cut her semi-annual bonus as punishment."
Aiden said, "You are the manager, so decide it yourself."
Charles smiled and said, "I still have to obey your orders. If you say don't punish her, I won't even deduct her bonus."
Aiden said, "When you stay in my position, you won't have to listen to my instructions."
Charles said, "You're avoiding talking about the crucial point. Well, Jane wants to invite you to dinner and she let me ask you when you are free."
Aiden said, "Tell her to keep her mind on work, don't worry, and don't think too much."
"Well, you helped Jane but don't allow her to show gratitude, which would make the employees think that you are lofty and look down on them. I know Jane very well. The company doesn't punish her this time, and she will definitely feel guilty, so she just wants to say thank you to you in person. If you have time, why not meet and have a chat?"
Aiden said, "My schedule is tight recently, and I'll tell you in a few days."
"Okay, I'll thank Mr. Cater on behalf of Jane first."
Aiden said, "If I hadn't known that you had someone in your heart, I would have thought you liked Jane."
Charles smiled, "My junior is good in all aspects, but she's too tall. I have a height requirement, and 161.5cm is just perfect."
Aiden said, "Go to Y City for business trips if you have the opportunity, or I can send her to S City."
Although he knew that he was joking, Charles was still very happy. "I'm serious. Don't make fun of me."
Aiden said, "You are both top executives of Forward Education. If you are married, I have to send double wedding gifts. It's not worthwhile."
Just as Charles was about to make a joke, he caught a glimpse of Aaron appearing outside the door. He hung up and gestured for Aaron to come inside.
"What's wrong?" asked Charles.
Aaron had just been praised by Charles in the morning. Charles said that Aaron has been working hard recently, which is not the same as when he was in college. Aaron was easy to be complacent when he was praised, so he asked boldly, "Do you have an appointment at noon? If not, shall we have lunch together?"
Charles looked at the time, and it was indeed time for dinner. He talked about Jane with Aiden just now, so he was in a good mood. He got up and said, "Let's go. My treat."
Aaron said with a twinkle in his eyes, "My treat."

Charles picked up the coat hanging on the side, and said with a smile, "What's wrong? Why are you here now to show off your money after I just praised your performance this morning?"
Aaron said, "You are the boss when we're in the office, and you are just my senior when we get off work. Can't a junior invite his senior to lunch? It's not a bribe, right?"
Charles nodded, "Okay, I want to eat ISA's steak."
That western restaurant was in the opposite building, which was notoriously expensive. A casual meal may cost more than a thousand dollars and the customers couldn't order drinks. Ordinary people would not choose this restaurant, but Aaron didn't even think about it and said, "I have its contact number. I'll ask them to do it now, and we can eat directly when we get there."
Charles squinted slightly as if he had already recognized Aaron as a rich boy.
When they were about to leave the office, they turned their heads and met Sofia. Aaron's face fell suddenly, and he didn't even call her Miss Moore.
Sofia glanced at Aaron, with the same indifference and arrogance. When her eyes fell on Charles, she turned friendly immediately and asked, "Shall we have lunch together?"
Charles said, "I just made an appointment with Aaron."
Aaron picked up the phone and prepared to make a call, "Charles, how would you like your steak done?"
This was the first time that Aaron had called Charles 'Charlie'. He seemed to be calm, but in reality, he was very nervous. This was a great attempt, but he didn't know Charles's attitude.
Charles didn't feel anything wrong at all, not even thinking that this was a 'nickname'. He replied calmly, "Please order for me."
Aaron made an OK gesture and went out to make a call.
Sofia asked, "Do you have anything to talk about?"
Charles said, "Nothing. What's the matter?"
Sofia answered, "If you don't mind, could you take me with you?"
Aaron not only listened to the sound on the phone but also had to pay attention to what they talked about. Hearing the words, he secretly looked at the expression on Charles's face. Charles was also a little embarrassed and glanced at Aaron.
Aaron wanted to pretend he didn't see it, but he couldn't stand embarrassing Charles, so he could only look at Sofia.
Sofia smiled, "Can I go with you?"
Aaron thought to himself, "Don't you know the answer? Why do you still ask?"
Reluctant to have lunch with Sofia, Aaron didn't show a very happy look, and he even obviously nodded embarrassedly, "Okay."
Generally, people would not have gone with them if they had seen this, but Sofia turned blind eyes and still went along with them.
From the moment they entered the elevator, Sofia had cast flirtatious glances at Charles, acting like there was no one else present. She was not the same person as she was in the office, in terms of her attitude and voice, as if she had another personality. Aaron got goosebumps after hearing her voice.
Aaron thought Charles also didn't want to listen to her, so he took the initiative to talk to Aaron, and they directly changed the topic into sports that only men can talk about.
Sofia interjected a few times, and Charles replied a few words, but Aaron couldn't help but say, "Miss Moore seems to usually focus on the work, and I didn't expect you would have a wide range of hobbies in private."
Sofia smiled, not to Aaron, but to Charles. She said, "It's been a long time since we played tennis together. When are you free? Shall we go a few rounds?"
Charles was afraid that Aaron would feel left out, so he looked at Aaron and said, "Do you like to play tennis?"
Aaron was swearing in his heart. Hearing this, he answered with a smile, "It depends on you. I will definitely like to play tennis if you like to."
Charles laughed, "What are you doing? Flattering me?"
Aaron said, "I was just catering to your pleasure."
Sofia interjected again, and Aaron got angry in his heart. "Could women not interject when men are talking? It's okay to have free lunch, but not free opportunities to chat." he thought to himself.
