Chapter 123 Misunderstanding, Sleeping Naked
Aaron deliberately asked for only two orders of steaks, wanting Sofia to be embarrassed when she sat down, but he forgot what kind of person Charles was. Charles would not easily embarrass Sofia, so when he gave his steak to her, Aaron gave up his own steak to Sofia, with sincerity and reluctance.
Sofia looked surprised and suspicious for a moment, and Aaron thought to himself, "What are you looking at? You don't think I like you, do you?"
Sofia thanked him insincerely and took it. Charles wanted to give up his steak to Aaron. Aaron smiled, "Enjoy your food. I'll order something else. In fact, I don't like steak that much."
If Jane and Jennifer had been there, they would have definitely cried out. It turned out that one would lie through his teeth when pampering someone because Aaron loved steak, as much as he loved sandwiches and milk.
Even though she had lunch with Aaron at the same table, Sofia didn't dodge the official business and started the conversation, "I saw that the email complaining about Jane has been dropped."
Charles dropped his eyes slightly, and said "yeah".
Sofia said, "Was someone operating behind the scenes?"
Charles couldn't say it was Edward because not only Sofia, but many people in the company thought that Jane must have an affair with Edward, so he deliberately said, "It was handled by the top of the company."
Except for Aiden, there would be no one else at the top of the company. Since it was the order of Mr. Lee, Sofia certainly didn't dare to say too much. The key point was that she could not and dare not question Jane's relationship with Aiden. On the one hand, they hardly spoke to each other. On the other, it was a fatal mistake of questioning her superiors in the workplace. She would not put her own future at risk for Jane.
"Great. Since the complaint had been dealt with, what else do we need to do?"
After arguing with Charles in the morning, Sofia wanted to redeem herself as much as possible.
Charles said calmly, "Internally deduct her bonus for half a year and don't have to say anything to the outside world. Just pretend it didn't happen, and don't let employees talk about it in the company."
Sofia nodded. "Okay, I'll arrange this."
Aaron was having spaghetti by the side, but because of hating Sofia, he couldn't swallow at all. Listening to their conversation, he quickly filtered some information, such as Aiden helping Jane solve big trouble.
After returning to the company, Aaron repeated Charles's original words during the meal to Jane at the water cooler. Lowering her eyes slightly, Jane said, "It's over. Even though everyone is talking about me, it won't take long to forget it. You don't have to take it to heart."
Jane said, "Jennifer also called me. I don't know how many times I was publicly discussed in the morning."
Aaron said, "It is better to win than to lose. Show those who talk behind your back all day long that you are not a woman to be trifled with."
Jane was still disappointed. "I want to maintain my image of intellectual. Who wants to be regarded as a bad girl?"
Aaron smiled, "You must be only afraid that Aiden knows about it, right?"
Aaron could occasionally hit the nail on the head, and Jane was speechless.
Aiden not only didn't punish her but also helped her deal with the complaint. It's easy to imagine how tough Beth was. Now Jane was really too embarrassed to face her idol.
...
Everyone thought that it was a big deal and Jane would definitely be punished severely this time. Who would have expected that she only went in and out of the offices of Mr. Lee and Miss Moore, and it's over?
Miss Moore didn't mention it anymore, and naturally, other employees didn't dare to say more. No one even bothered to ask what happened to Jane. Everyone pretended not to know and only talked about what kind of connections Jane had behind her back.
The next day, Jane and Justin made an appointment for classes. It was during her period again. She brought jujube cakes and hawthorn brown sugar juice. They had breakfast and took two classes. When they went downstairs at noon, Sam came over with a brown sesame cake and smiled at Jane, "Miss Cooper, the chef wanted to ask if it's okay to be heated up directly in the oven."
Jane replied, "Yes. Five minutes is enough."
Justin was eagle-eyed. "This is not made by the pastry chef at home."
Sam said, "It was brought by Miss Cooper."
Justin turned his head, "You did it?"
Jane nodded. Justin asked, "Why didn't you bring it up for me to eat?"
Jane said, "You didn't eat the jujube cake?"
Justin wanted to argue for the sack of arguing and say that he just wanted to eat sesame cake, but then he thought there was no need to compete with Uncle Edward.
"Uncle Edward hasn't gotten up yet?" Justin asked.
Sam said, "No. I was just wondering if I should wake him up."
Justin said, "I'll wake him up."
Justin went upstairs, and Jane was downstairs chatting with Sam. Her phone rang suddenly, and when she took it out, she saw that it was Justin.
Jane picked up and asked, "What's wrong?"
Justin said, "Please come upstairs."
Jane didn't hesitate, hung up the phone, and went up to the second floor. This was the first time she stood at the door of Edward's room. The door was not closed, and there was still a large suite inside. She walked in, stood in the living room, and whispered, "Where are you?"
After a while, Justin came out of the door. Jane asked, "What's wrong?"
Justin looked serious. "Please come in and have a look."
After saying that, he turned around and went back. Jane came to the door of the master bedroom. She looked inside and saw a copy of Justin's room. The curtains were closed, and it was almost pitch-dark in the room. She could only vaguely see a figure standing beside the bed, and then a familiar, low voice came, "Uncle Edward, are you sick?"
Jane couldn't see Edward who was covered by the quilt on the bed at all and only heard him snort slightly, "I'm fine."
Justin said, "Then do you want to eat cake? Bad Teacher did it herself."
Jane, who was standing at the door, was surprised by his "Bad teacher", and thought to herself, "What the hell?"
Edward replied in a low voice, "No, thanks."
He didn't sound sleepy, but rather uncomfortable and lack of energy.
Jane took a few steps in, stood beside Justin, and said to the big bed, "Mr. Smith, if you are not feeling well, I'll ask Sam to call a doctor for you."
Edward didn't make a sound immediately, and after a while, he said, "Have you changed the wake-up call?"
His voice was slurred. Jane didn't understand, but Justin did. He knew that Uncle Edward must have been confused and taken Jane's voice as a mobile phone recording.
In the darkened room, Justin said to Jane, "Look at what happened to Uncle Edward?"
Jane was glad that it was dark in the room, otherwise, Justin would have seen the speechless and dazed expression on her face. After all, she was not a doctor.
When she touched the bedside lamp, Jane pressed the switch. There was warm yellow light, and the naked back on the bed was exposed at the same time.
Jane was startled to see Edward's sleeping position... She could see the two Venus dimples at his lower waist at a glance, and fortunately, there was a quilt covering the lower part. But it could be inferred that he was definitely sleeping naked!
Quickly turning around, Jane said, "Put the quilt on your Uncle Edward!"
