Chapter 119: Disliking Her Meant To Offend Edward
The breakfast shops near Forward Education basically only have shop fronts and no seats. Jane took Justin to a nice coffee shop. In the private room, the two ate pan fried pork bun and drank coffee, which was a combination of local and foreign.
After learning that Jane would not be dismissed from the company, Justin leaned against the sofa and watched the video on his phone. Jane sat directly opposite him, seeing him dragging the progress bar back and forth over and over again, he couldn't get tired of watching it, and Jane couldn't help asking, "What are you watching?"
Justin turned his phone, and Jane fixed her eyes on it. In the video, a deft woman in black sportswear kicked away a woman with one kick, three kicks in a row, and she hit her where it hurt. And then, as if there were eyes on her back, she reacted nimbly and turned around to slap another woman who wanted to attack her from behind until that woman was dazed.
Apparently, this video was taken more closely, and it was clearer. Jane stared at it for a moment, raised her head, and asked, "Who sent it to you?"
Justin said, "I asked the manager of Moonshadow to send it to me."
Jane pretended to be serious, "Why do you watch this? Delete it."
Justin said, "It seems that what you said to teach me is false. You told me to look before I leap, and you told me not to be cruel while fighting because I would be in the wrong once I hurt others. Alas! I knew what adults said was unreliable, but I didn't expect your words to be so unreliable."
Jane said, "Bullying others and protecting ourselves are two entirely different things, right? You can't think it's my fault just because I didn't lose."
She must have been influenced by Edward. When she said this, she wasn't guilty at all.
Justin raised his head, "How can you have a double standard? I fought to protect myself before, but you said I was too cruel. Look at you. You beat her first, and your every move was fierce." He shook his head and sighed, "For the first time, I sympathize with Beth."
Jane said, "Alright, I admit I was wrong. In the future, I won't fight if I can solve the problem by communication."
Justin thought that Jane would talk back. Unexpectedly, she admitted her mistake. He said, "But I think she asked for it. You couldn't beat her for no reason."
Jane said, "Even a murderer has a reason to kill someone. I can't act recklessly just because I have a reason. This is my fault. I'm sorry for the company and my clients. Don't learn from me. I was wrong."
Justin said, "But at least you're not sorry for yourself, right?"
Jane didn't expect that a twelve-year-old child would be so sensitive. She was speechless. After a moment of silence, she whispered, "Maybe everyone has his own bottom line that can't be touched, just like the fuse on the bomb, and whoever burns it will be exploded." She knew she and Beth would both suffer, but she did it.
Justin said, "You don't have to tell me whether something is right or wrong at any time. I know how to distinguish between right and wrong. Nothing is absolutely right or wrong. We just do things with our conscience."
Jane slightly raised his eyebrows, "Justin, I think I admire you a little."
Justin said seriously, "I've heard about lots of truths. The reason why I don't believe them is that no one can live according to truths forever. People say that it takes two to make a quarrel, but I believe it was Beth who provoked you first. I don't want anyone to tell me such a truth, or I'll scold that person."
Jane didn't speak. She rested her chin on her hand and stared at him with a smile.
Justin frowned, "Why do you stare at me?"
Jane said, "I suddenly think you are very sensible."
Justin was unconcerned, "I've always been sensible."
Jane said, "Since you are so sensible, why don't you delete the video? Don't you know that I will be very embarrassed?"
Justin rolled his eyes, "You were not bullied. You were so good at fighting. Shouldn't I keep it in memory of your brave performance?"
"Thank you, but I don't have that idea."
Jane persuaded him for a long time, and he finally agreed to delete the video on his phone. Jane's phone rang. It was Henry.
Half an hour later, Henry pushed open the door and came in. Seeing Jane, he asked, "Are you okay?"
Jane smiled and said, "I'm fine."
While speaking, she raised her hand to pull the chair for Henry, and they saw the white gauze on the back of her right hand. Henry walked closer, "You're not fine. Is your hand injured?"
Justin said, "Didn't you watch the video? I'm afraid the others need to have physical examinations."
Henry glanced around, "Did you watch the video, too?"
Justin didn't say yes or no. Henry silently took out his phone and clicked on the video, "I thought you hadn't seen it..."
Jane reached out to cover the screen and said seriously, "Hey, can you stop? I really know I was wrong. Don't play this video in public again. I've watched it four or five times this morning."
She had watched this video together with Sofia and Edward. Then Justin played this video many times. At this time, Henry wanted to watch it... Jane promised that she wouldn't fight again. Even if she had to fight, she would choose a place without a security camera. It was too embarrassing, wasn't it?
Henry was relieved to learn that Jane was fine and she wouldn't be punished. Of course, he didn't tell Jane that he had talked to Rachel before he went out. Rachel didn't like what Jane had done. In her opinion, Jane was double-faced, and she couldn't teach Henry well.
Henry said very rationally, "Before I met Miss Cooper, I would be so mad if you said so, and I would think you were unreasonable because you blame her before you figure out the whole story. But now I want to reason with you. If Miss Cooper was the one who was beaten, would you pity her or think she deserves it? Don't judge her with prejudice. You can only see that she beat others, but in my opinion, she fought with a group of people herself. They were bullying her, weren't they? "
"What's more, Beth and the group of people are really double-faced. They speak one way but think another!"
Rachel had nothing to say. Of course, she didn't want to quarrel with him. Their relationship had just eased, and Rachel had to thank Jane for this.
After Henry left, Rachel called Vincent. Vincent was in another city last night. He didn't take his phone with him when the accident happened, so he didn't know it immediately. At this time, this matter had spread in this circle. Naturally, Rachel would know it.
"It's not Jane's fault. Beth asked for it. She regarded Jane as her rival in love. Initially, Edward doesn't like her. Now they've become enemies."
Rachel, "No matter what, she couldn't beat Beth on the street. Will the Brown family let her go?"
Vincent said, "Mom, let me tell you the truth. Now it's not whether the Brown family wants to let her go or not, but whether Edward is willing to show the Brown family respect or not. He might not want to show them respect. He cares about his reputation so much. Beth has disgraced him, hasn't she?"
"That's right..."
"So don't get involved in this matter. You should be more careful during this period. If you show dissatisfaction with Jane and even want to change a private teacher, you'll offend Edward. I've reminded you."
Rachel was rendered speechless. Although she was Edward's elder, she watched Edward grow up and knew his temper well. Edward would pay a debt of gratitude, but he was very vindictive. No one was not afraid of him.
