Chapter 126 Either a Stepmother or an Aunt Is Acceptable
Jane knew that taking care of people had nothing to do with kindness but had something to do with gender. It was not a big problem for people of the same sex, but people of different sex were easy to be mistaken as bad people.
Edward was an example. In his eyes, only his girlfriend could do such things.
When he saw Jane, it was hard to tell whether he was more shocked or more surprised. They looked at each other, and Jane soon said, "Justin wants to show you his love. Earlier, he even cut his finger when he was downstairs. I was afraid that he would burn himself, so I carried the bowl upstairs for him."
As she spoke, she walked to the tea table and put down the big bowl of steaming fragrant noodles on it. Before Edward could make a sound, she said directly, "You're sick. Please drink more ginger tea. You might get better after sweating. Have a good rest. I'm leaving."
Her words were terse, taking advantage of the condition that Edward was too weak to open his mouth. When she turned around, Justin immediately tilted his head and asked, "Where are you going?"
"Back to the company," Jane answered.
"You haven't eaten anything yet!"
"I'll go back and eat."
Edward lifted his blanket, sat up, and said, "Eat here. Ask the servants to prepare food."
As calm as ever, Jane replied with a small smile, "No, thanks. I have to hurry back because I happen to have something to do. You eat with Justin. He has been busy with cooking, and he hasn't eaten yet."
"You had asked for leave this afternoon, and you won't have classes, will you? Do you have anything else to do?" Justin questioned sharply.
"I just put off the time, but I still have to give classes," Jane lied cheekily.
Justin looked at her suspiciously, ready to say something, but Edward interrupted, "I'll leave you to it. Ask the driver to drive you back."
"Okay, then I'm going downstairs," Jane nodded and said.
"I'll walk you out," Justin said.
While Justin was walking Jane out, Jane asked him to keep a distance from Edward in order to free him from being infected. A few minutes later, Justin came upstairs with the same noodle bowl as Edward's and sat opposite him.
Seeing him come in, Edward put out his cigarette by pressing it against the bottom of the ashtray.
Justin glanced at the ginger cola beside him that had not been touched at all, and asked, "Aren't you thirsty?"
"You boiled it?" Edward asked.
"Yes."
Edward picked it up and tentatively licked it, finding that it tasted fine. Then, he drank more of it slowly.
"Are you better now?" Justin asked.
"Uh?"
"Nothing, just eat the noodles. They'll be cold in a while."
Edward lowered his eyes and squinted at the well-cooked noodles. Although he knew that they were absolutely not Justin's work, he couldn't help but ask, "You cooked them?"
Justin was already eating his food. Hearing it, he replied, "Bad Teacher cooked them."
Edward felt something slightly unusual. He asked, "You forced her to do it?"
Justin felt that the noodles tasted so good that he was unhappy to spare time to speak, but Edward persisted in asking, so Justin answered casually, "Who dared to force her?"
Having watched the video that recorded her beating others, Justin remembered the words she said at that time that she was not even afraid of ghosts. Then he knew that was not a joke.
"It wasn't you who asked her to come to my place?" Edward asked.
Justin pushed a pork chop into his mouth. While chewing it with a noise, he replied in an unclear voice, "Eat the noodles first. They're particularly delicious."
Why was he so anxious to urge Edward to eat noodles? It was because Jane had said that there was medicine in the ginger cola and that Edward should eat the noodles before drinking it, but Edward had already drunk half a cup in one gulp moments earlier. Justin didn't know if drinking the medicine first and eating the noodles after it would bring his uncle trouble, and he was worried that his uncle would be poisoned to death because of inverting the order of drinking the medicine and eating the noodles.

Edward really didn't have an appetite. He wanted to say he wouldn't eat, but he couldn't bear Justin's pestering. He randomly picked up a few noodles with his chopsticks and put them into his mouth. After that, he thought he could also eat spinach. Then, he could also try ham. After eating it, he thought he might as well try the pork chops.
Sitting opposite him, Justin asked proudly, "Delicious, right?"
"They were not cooked by you. Why should you be happy?" Edward said.
"While Bad Teacher was cooking them, I saw her doing it and secretly learned the skills," Justin answered.
Still tired, Edward would only think about a few words. For example, even the dogs wouldn't eat the food cooked by Justin.
The boy and his uncle were eating noodles silently in the quiet room. While they were eating, Justin suddenly asked, "What do you think of Bad Teacher, uncle?"
"Which aspect?"
Edward spoke peacefully and picked up a few noodles with his chopsticks, putting them into his mouth.
Justin was even more peaceful. Without even raising his head, he asked, "Do you think my dad will like her?"
"Puff... ahem, ahem, ahem..."
Edward lost his table manners for the first time-he uncontrollably spat out the noodles that he had put into his mouth.
Just reacted fast. He shielded his noodle bowl first and then passed the tissue box to Edward, and the latter pulled out two pieces of tissue in a row. Now his eyes were red after having tilted his head to cough.
Only after a long time did Edward regain his breath. He looked at Justin tearfully with an uncontrollable panicky expression. "Your dad has never seen her before, but why did you ask such a question?"
Justin asked calmly, "My dad is overseas alone. I don't think he has a girlfriend, right? Bad Teacher looks beautiful, has a high educational background, and can fight and cook. I think she's very good. If my dad likes her, I'm willing to let her be my stepmother."
The confused air in Edward's eyes disappeared, and then he thought that these words were unimaginable. He said, "Don't you think you've thought too long? The beautiful women with high educational backgrounds are so many, and she is not the only one who can fight and cook, but you let her be your stepmother because of these reasons, eh?"
"But she's my tutor! If my dad likes her, will he return home a few more times?"
Justin didn't feel sad while speaking these words. Instead, he was simply thinking about it, but Edward suddenly felt something heavy over his chest. "You miss your dad?"
"I dreamed of him last night. He said he would return to see me on my birthday this year."
Edward felt more grief. Justin's birthday was around the corner. A few days ago, Edward had happened to have a phone call with Gary, who said that he wouldn't come back this year. But Edward didn't know how to tell Justin.
"What kinds of presents do you want?" Edward tried to change the subject.
"I want to introduce Bad Teacher to my dad. To be honest, she's very good. Even if he has high standards, my dad won't say no at first glance, right?" Justin said.
"Does Jane know you treat her like your stepmother?" Edward asked.
"She even called me brother!" Justin said with a smile.
"She regards you as her brother, but you think of her as your stepmother," Edward reminded him.
"You don't think Bad Teach can be our family's wife?" Justin stared at him and asked.
"Don't have so much wishful thinking! Do you think she wants to be your stepmother?" Edward replied, not smiling.
"I won't mess around, and my dad is so handsome and so rich, so why is she not happy?" Justin said.
"I'm also handsome and rich!" Edward refuted.
What he meant was that Justin shouldn't think so naively and that love was not a math formula for two people to be matched.
Hearing it, Justin arched his eyebrows and stared at Edward, "Do you like Bad Teacher, uncle?"
"According to the logic you just described, she is nice from head to toe, so I shouldn't refuse to like her," Edward said.
"How come I forgot you! You brought her here, so you should be the first candidate. If you like her, I won't tell her about my dad. You pursue her first. Whether she becomes my stepmother or my aunt, I can accept it," Just said.
