Chapter 143 Being Irritable
After confirming the address with Henry, Jane returned to the private room. She found a good time, raised her glass and said to Aiden: "Mr. Cater, happy birthday. Thank you for your invitation. I am very happy to see all the seniors, but I have something else to do. I'm sorry I have to leave now."
Before Aiden, someone asked, "You are in such a hurry, what happened?"
Jane answered, "I just know that one of my students is also celebrating his birthday today."
"Student's birthday is less important than that of the boss."
"That's right. Tonight, we must drink until we are thoroughly drunk! How can you suddenly leave?"
Jane smiled and said, "This cup is to Mr. Cater. And the next cup is to all the seniors. Next time, I will be the host and invite all of you to dinner."
Everyone tried their best to keep Jane. After all, she is the only girl here. Although they can't touch her, it's good to have a look.
Jane kept making apologies. Finally, Aiden said, "Where are you going? I'll have someone take you off."
Jane smiled, "Don't bother, I'll take a taxi."
"You have drunk. To be safe, I will ask my driver to escort you. You are welcome," responded Aiden.
Bobby said: "You two are too polite. You both came from the same school. Don't be so estranged."
Someone agreed, "That's right. Come on, just call Aiden senior brother, no more Mr. Cater."
Later, someone planned to take a group photo. Jane was placed between Aiden and Ken, in the centre.
After taking the photo, Aiden and Ken went out with her. Jane said, "You guys can go back. Don't worry, I'm fine."
Ken said to Aiden, "You go back first. I'll take her out."
Aiden stood there and replied: "Take care."
Jane nodded, "Goodbye, senior brother."
"Thank you for your flowers," answered Aiden.
Jane smiled, "You're welcome. I'm glad you like it."
Ken put his hands in his pockets and said, "Okay, aren't you in a hurry? You two are too polite."
Hearing that, Jane quickly bade farewell to Aiden and went outside.
"Who else is celebrating birthday?" asked Ken.
"Are you checking my household registration?"
Ken smiled, "You're honest and obedient in the face of Aiden, but so naughty while facing me."
Jane replied: "He won't ask at all."
"So what? I'm caring about you. It's not safe to go to other places after drinking."
While Jane thought, "Staying away from you is the safest."
When they came to the door, Ken arranged a car for her. The driver kept a low profile and said few words. At first glance, he was like Aiden.
When she got into the car, Ken stood by and said, "Call me when you get there."
Jane didn't like his attitude. She replied neatly: "The driver will take me to the place safely. Don't worry."
Ken laughed angrily, "Will you be exhausted by making a phone call?"
Jane replied with a look indicating that he deliberately asked it. She had never let down her vigilance against him. He could easily make Beth Brown a "thief" though she was not. So how could Jane trust him?
Seeing the vigilance in her eyes, Ken was not angry but just said casually, "Let's go. I'm doing good things but bear the title of villain."
Jane calmly answered: "Thank you, I got it."
"You got it, but you didn't put it into action. You're so clever!" thought Ken.
He watched Jane get into the car, then turned around and walked back. In the car, Jane sent a message to Henry to see what was going on there.
Justin held a birthday banquet in the villa area of the Pearl Road. Fortunately, it was a suburban area, and the GraceLand was not far from there, a 20-minute drive away. When they got there, Jane got off the car and thanked the driver, who would then return to report the completion of his task.
Henry slipped out of the villa to pick up Jane. They went through the back door, avoiding the people in the front hall all the way, and successfully sneaked into the kitchen.
In the front hall, there were a lot of people. Fearing that Justin would feel lonely, Edward asked a lot of people to come to the party, including his game team, where there were players that Justin admired. Neither Gary nor Jane coming, he wanted to make Justin less disappointed.
Surrounding Justin, there were twenty or thirty people, who asked him to make a wish while cutting the cake. But he said, "I don't have any wishes."
After the words, he was afraid that Edward would find him unhappy. So he added, "I have owed everything that I want."
Edward touched Justin's head. Both of them pretended to be fine.
After cutting the cake, Justin went to play games with the team, while the rest sat on the sofa and everywhere. After all, the party was for a children. So it was not that exciting. Many people were bored.
When Edward leaned on the sofa playing with his mobile phone, Linda, who was sitting opposite, suddenly said: "Isn't this Jane Cooper? "
He raised his eyelids subconsciously, only to see Linda talking to the phone. Everyone on the left and right looked sideways.
Edward didn't say any word, while Vincent who was beside him asked, "What happened to Jane?"
Linda handed over her phone and answered, "She joined Aiden's birthday party. "
It had been said earlier that their social circle was neither big nor small. One could find another person through just three. The group picture that Jane had taken was posted in the Moment by many seniors. Not everyone could join Aiden's party, so another group of people also forwarded this photo, saying that they wished Aiden a happy birthday.
Linda happened to see this photo in her Moment.
Holding the phone and zooming in on the picture, Vincent Saw it clearly that Jane was standing between Aiden and Ken. She was the only woman between those men, so it was very easy to find her.
Edward remained calm and lowered his head to look at his own mobile phone, with no desire to gossip.
Vincent turned his head and said, "Haven't you told her that today is Justin's birthday?"
Showing no expression, Edward said lowly, "She can go wherever she wants. We can't force her, can we?"
Vincent answered: "I asked Henry why Jane didn't come, but he didn't know. I was curious that they usually got on with each other so well, so how could she not come in such an important day? It turned out that she chose to join Aiden's party."
Edward looked at the screen of his mobile phone. He clearly recognized each of the words on it, but he couldn't understand the sentence for a while.
Although they didn't tell Jane the truth, he was still unhappy to find her join someone else's birthday party. But he wasn't sure whether it was because he regretted not letting her make a choice, or it was just because she didn't show up here today.
Linda looked at Edward secretly. He just smiled in front of Justin. After Justin left, he never looked happy again. When she mentioned Jane, he was also indifferent, and no one knew what he was thinking.
If Jane chose Aiden between him and Justin, that means, she gave up Edward. It seemed that Jane and Edward were not so good as rumors said.
Linda felt better. Then she considered saying something to cheer Edward up.
Before she could figure it out, she found two figures in the corner. Henry probed his head, as if he was taking the lead. After confirming that Justin was not there, he turned around and let the other one come out.
Seeing that guy's face, Linda's eyes suddenly turned cold. At the same time, the people around her couldn't help but make a sound, "Jane?"
Edward, who lowered his head, frowned and thought, "Jane, Jane. Aren't you guys annoying?"
