Chapter 142 The Schedule Is Too Full
Jane Cooper followed Aiden Cater and Ken Garcia coming back to the restaurant. The guests who were supposed to arrive have already been here. "They, on such an occasion, must be some business partners who are very close to each other from all walks of life, and there should be a lot of people," thought Jane. As a result, she was only half right.
They are indeed business partners, but with another identity-Aiden's university alumni, also Jane's senior schoolmate. Sitting with them, Ken seems to be very different, but obviously familiar. He was able to chat very well with each person. For example, one asked how he was in Haicheng, while another asked whether he secretly dated with someone in Aizhou, since he didn't visit here very often though it was very close.
Jane, at first, worried that she couldn't integrate to them since she didn't know each other. But when they heard her name, they all laughed and said that one seeing was better than a hundred hearings.
"This is the well-known school beauty and scholar-tyrant who is several years younger than us, right?"
"Oh, it's such a pity that I have graduated too early. If I knew that there would be such a good-looking junior schoolmate, I would have done anything to take another exam and study for a Ph.D."
"Why not say that you have been given an too early birth?"
"Hello, Jane, I'm Bobby Smith, in the same class with Aiden. He used to take the first place in each grade, while I took the second. The gap between us was not wide."
Jane responded with a smile: "Hello, senior Bobby."
"It's normal to remember Aiden. But do you think the difference between you and Aiden lies just in the ranking? " someone joked, "Don't you know how many points you are worse than him?"
Even more hurting jokes were presented, "Is that a matter of scores? It's obviously a matter of appearance."
Bobby said seriously, "Tsk, what are you saying? I'm living on my strength. There are few people like Aiden who can obviously rely on his appearance to live, but insists on taking a job with us."
Aiden was very happy with them. With a rare smile on his face, he answered: "I never thought that I could live on my apperance. After all, in college, you looked in the mirror every day, saying that you looked exactly like me."
People all laughed, so did Jane, who could easily burst into laughter.
"Jane is also very outstanding. She's pretty and she's a top student, just like a copy of Aiden."
Hearing that, Jane immediately shook her head, "I'm far behind Mr. Cater."
"Why are you still calling him Mr. Cater? You are also working in Forward Education. I thought you guys were familiar with each other," said Bobby.
Jane didn't know how to answer this question. Fortunately, Ken, who was beside her, said, "She is my sister. Our family members are not allowed to recognize relatives casually."
Bobby pretended to be surprised. "Yeah, I've known you for so many years, but this is the first time that I know your family name is Cooper."
"You don't know a lot," answered Ken.
He helped Jane in a natural way. Laughter on the table came one after another. After all, it was Aiden's birthday. Everyone poured wine and toasted.
Jane seldom drank outside, but with them, she had no worries. While drinking, she listened to them talking about something interesting in school at that time.
Bobby loved to say something secret about Aiden. He asked, "Do you guys remember Cathy Hill?"
"Of course! she was the girl who almost drove Aiden crazy."
Jane quickly glanced at Aiden, who didn't say anything but just smiled. Bobby continued: "She likes Aiden so much that she would like to stay with him all the time. Even when he went back to the dormitory, she still wanted to go with him, which shocked the supervisor of the dorm, the instructor, and the whole school."
Another added, "I remember a famous scene when Cathy prepared 999 roses and intended to express her love to Aiden. He didn't plan to show up, but was forced by her classmate. Unfortunately, he was allergic to pollen and sneezed dozens of times on the spot. If we hadn't rushed there in time, he would probably have died in front of Cathy."
Ken held his chin and said, "No wonder He has never been in love. He is allergic to roses, so how can he chase girls?"
Everyone was laughing, except Jane, who had a bit of hesitation in her eyes. Seeing that, Aiden said, "I'm only allergic to roses."
People who didn't know why laughed and laughed, "What do you mean. Why did you suddenly confess your love?"
"Is it possible that you haven't sent roses to Jane yet, so you're afraid that she would be unhappy?" asked Bobby.
Aiden's eyebrows were naturally cold. Hearing the words, he glanced faintly and said, "She just gave me a pot of gardenias, and she was afraid I would be allergic."
"We all came here empty-handed," Bobby said, "But Jane came with flowers. It's really sweet. "
Jane's cheeks were slightly red. She pointed to the small potted plant on the coffee table and said to Bobby, "Do you think this is a flower?"
A straight pole with a few green leaves on it was really not a flower.
Bobby said with a smile: "Safflower is better with green leaves. Jane is a true scholar-lord. This gift is good."
What he meant was that Jane implied something for Aiden. Jane was articulate, but still worse than these people.
"You guys are coming to eat, not to bully people. Act like a senior," said Aiden.
"Yes, you are what a senior should look like. You are handsome. You have a successful career, and you are the boss of Jane. Having convenient access, you can take advantage of everything."
Jane's face was getting hotter and hotter. Then, Ken said: "Her brother is here. Don't bully my sister, or you need to pay for the health care by yourself tonight."
"Hey, Jane is still here. Don't talk nonsense."
"That's right, we are all decent people."
With his peach blossom eyes raising, Ken replied: "I know clearly if you guys are decent or not. Don't force me to break your stories one by one. "
His threat did work, while Aiden couldn't persuade them at all. So the 'bad guys' only obeyed the bad guys.
Everyone present was chatting actively. Jane almost drank a bottle of red wine, but she was not afraid at all, because the party was held for Aiden.
Jane's cell phone rang midway. It was from Aaron Hunter. Then she went out to answer it.
"Hello."
"Where are you?" asked Aaron, "Are you still with Aiden?"
"What's wrong?"
Aaron answered: "You haven't seen the Moment, right? I just saw Henry Perez post a message. Is it his birthday today?"
Jane was surprised, "I haven't seen my phone yet, and he didn't tell me that today was his birthday."
"Take a look, I'm gonna hang up. Charles Lee will come out soon."
"Showing off," after saying that, she hung up the phone and flipped through the Moments. Henry did post a message five minutes ago. The message includes a picture and a short sentence. In the picture, there was no one but a big cake with the height of one person. And the sentence was "Happy Birthday".
No one would post "happy birthday" to himself. So Jane immediately thought of Justin Smith, who once asked her if she would be free tonight. Besides, Edward Smith also asked her if Justin had invited her.
Jane hurried to call Henry. Beeping, followed by his voice: "Hello?"
"Is it Justin's birthday tonight?"
Henry seemed to walk away and replied, "Sister Jane, are you busy?"
Feeling a sense of guilt and sourness, she replied: "You are not over yet, are you?"
"No, will you come?"
"I'm going over now. Where are you?"
