Chapter 138 Dumping
"Just between you and me. In fact, I really look up to the guy on the other side who is the same height as me." Jane said in a lower voice.
Edward stayed calm and then said meaningfully, "Really?"
Jane nodded seriously.
Just then they saw Charles failed to catch the ball, stumbled and fell down. Seeing that, Aaron trotted forward immediately and asked, "Are you Ok?"
Charles shook his head. But when he got up, he found something wrong with his legs. And Jane also noticed, she hurried over to take a look.
Aaron squatted in front of Charles, held his left ankle carefully and asked him to move. "It hurts a bit." Charles frowned.
Jane said, "I'll go get help."
Aaron handed the racket to her and said, "No, I'll carry him to the lounge."
Saying this, he turned his back to Charles and bent down.
"I'm fine..." Charles said.
Aaron turned his head and said, "Come on, no biggie."
"I'm not light." Charles smiled and said.
"Come on, even two of you will be OK."Aaron said.
Then Charles hop up on Aaron's back, and Aaron held his leg and lifted it gently. "Shall I go with you?" Jane asked deliberately.
Aaron said, "Well, just enjoy yourself."
It wasn't that Jane was cynical, it was that Aaron put hoes before bros. While Charles didn't know what happened. "It's alright, just enjoy yourself. Aaron is here." he said to Jane.
Looking at Aaron, Jane held back her laugh and said earnestly, "Take care of Charles."
Aaron secretly winked at Jane. "Don't worry, he is my schoolmate too."
There were a lot of schollmates, but boyfriend only had one. Jane knew him well.
So now, Aaron must just want to tell her to leave and don't be an eyesore here.
Jane got it and then left, humming the tune of Pigsy Quit Back Daughter-in-law in her mind when she saw Aaron carried Charle away.
Returning to where Edward was, Jane didn't say anything. But Edward just looked at her with a faint smile, which gave her the creeps.
"Watch your mouth." Edward said.
Jane felt guilty. No sooner had she lied and said she liked Charles that than he twisted his foot. According to the superstition, how fast the retribution came.
Edward was so insightful, Jane decided to avoid him. Whatever he provoked, she just didn't say anything. Then the two played some matches in peace.
Edward was 6.2 feet tall with long legs, and he moved so fast and might be able to step 6.6 feet in one step. Obviously, Jane was not his match. Even if he played casually, it was not easy for Jane to catch the ball.
An hour later, a tall and fat man wearing bathrobe showed up, with a short and thin man in bathrobe next to him. It was Henry and Justin who were scolded and punished by Edward by requiring them to swim in the cold water.
Though their faces have turned pale, they didn't dare to come back. Then the two just stand by and watched silently. Jane stopped first and said, "You wanna continue?"
Edward took a sip of his drink. " Whatever."
"I am exausted." Jane said.
Edward said, "Let's pack up and go back."
After sweating, Jane took a hot bath and didn't feel any discomfort. When she came out of the lounge, Edward, Justin and Henry were already waiting outside. She have called Aaron and was told that Charles just got twisted and would be alright after a rest, and she could leave first.
Then the four went out together. Edward and Jane both drove the car. "Mr. Smith, please drive them home, and I can go back by myself." Jane said first.
Edward said, "Something has come up?"
Jane said, "I've got some work to do."
"Let's have dinner first. Online tutoring is not mandatory, is it?" Justin said.
Jane looked at him and did not replied immediately. Justin looked a little bit stiff. "Jane." he added.
Jane smiled. "Just go and enjoy your meal. See you tomorrow, and as for Henry, we'll see in a few days."
"Then I am not going to eat either. I'll go with Miss Cooper...Jane." Henry said.
Hearing that the two kids changed the way they called her, Edward knew that Jane must have used some methods before he came. Though being so miserable, she still didn't forget to play tricks. How vindictive she was.
Seeing Henry's betrayal, Justin asked, "You are not going to have dinner with us?"
"I'm gonna bum a meal off Jane." Henry just said casually.
Jane pretended to be serious. "Cook it by yourself and don't count on me, I won't do it for you,"
Henry made an OK gesture. "Are you going to dump me?" Justin was in a hurry.
Henry said, "You can come if you want, no one is holding you back."
Jane knew that Justin was a face person. Not to make him embarrased, she said, "Would you like to come and play together?"
Justin stayed arrogant. "It's still early now, and we can go to the supermarket to do some shopping first. It won't be a waste of time for you to work at home." he said.
Well, he had it all planned out.
Justin naturally walked towards Jane and Henry. And it seemed that he had remembered something when he turned around and saw Edward. "Uncle Edward, what about you? " he asked.
Edward said as usual, "Don't mess with her, I'll treat you to dinner."
Jane smiled, "It's okay. They are going to do it by themselves and won't cause me any trouble."
Edward was silent and said, "Behave yourself."
"Ok."
Then the four regrouped in front of the door. Justin and Henry happily got into Jane's car and talked and laughed all the way. While Edward was alone and got into the car by himself, and when he turned around, his expression changed. He didn't know what that feeling was, whether he was angry with the two little kids who abandoned him, or for Jane not inviting him to dinner.
He could see that Jane was not a person who couldn't take a hint. She was just on guard against him, and would rather take the two kids home than invite him to her home.
She would have had a conscience if she invited him, though he would not go either. But she was always being so wary of him, as if he was a thief, no, a pervert. She didn't regard him as a friend, not even a nice guy.
Sitting in the car, Edward started the car, and the more he thought about it, the more annoyed he got. Why did he go to this god-forsaken place to play the ball for an hour?
He treated her with goodwill, but she was just cold-hearted.
At the same time, in Jane's car. She fastened her seat belt and reminded the two kids in the back seat to tie up. "Why didn't you just invite Uncle Edward to your home?" Justin asked.
Jane said, "Uncle Edward has got so many dinner parties and is so busy with other affairs. He didn't have time to have dinner with us even I ask him. And also he might have to make excuses to put me off. It's too much trouble."
Just as she was talking, a silver Panamera drove by with lightning speed, and soon took the lead. Jane said to herself, "Tell Uncle Edward, car is not rocket. If it weren't an emergency, don't drive that fast."
