Chapter 139 Sweet Kids

Chapter 139 Sweet Kids
Henry and Justin went to the supermarket near Jane's apartment which they knew well to do some shopping, while Jane went home alone. She quickly baked ten cups of sesame cake, and then worked on the sofa.
Later, when the two kids knocked at the door and entered, Jane said without raising her head, "The fruit and drinks are on the table, just help yourself."
Of course they knew that they needed to cook it by themselves. After a short break, they went to the kitchen and began to grill onions and peel the garlic.
Jane cooked six dishes and one soup. Needless to say, Henry was the one who needed to control his diet at any time, and Justin had indirect anorexia and bulimia, not eating at home while overeating when he came to Jane's home. Those who knew him knew he was rich, but those who didn't might thought what a poor guy he was.
Due to their behaviors in the pool during the day, Jane made them wash the dishes as punishment at night. Seeing them from scrambling to doing it so well, she suddenly felt a sense of achievement as a mother.
There was strength in numbers and the kitchen was quickly cleaned up by the three of them. Jane came out with two bags, one for Justin, and the other for Henry. There were four cupcakes in each bag. Well, Justin and Henry all have ate one before.
"It's getting late, just go home."
Jane walked them downstairs and saw them get into the car before going upstairs. When she opened the door, she found herself alone in the house where was buzzing a few minutes ago.
Although she has been living in the dormitory and has always been accompanied all these years, Jane was still a little bit solitary. It seemed that she was easy to get along with, but one could feel that she was always keeping you at a distance and wouldn't be very close to you. Jane also didn't like the hustle and bustle of some occasions, but unknowingly, it became a habit for Henry and Justin to bum meals off her. They could be noisy sometimes, but Jane might got a little bit disappointed when she couldn't hear it.
When Justin came back, Sam recieved him and told him that Edward was also at home.
Justin was a little surprised. "Uncle Edward came back so early today?"
"He's upstairs." Sam responded.
Justin went upstairs to the door of Edward's room and knocked at the door. "Uncle Edward."
"Come in."
Edward was playing games in the game room. Justin got sharp eyes. "Is this a new skin?"
"Yes. "
"If I had known you didn't have an arrangetment, I would have asked you to go to Bad Teacher's home for dinner. "
Being so full, Justin slumped on the sofa.
Edward put a cushion on the carpet and then sat in front of Justin. Except his back, Justin couldn't see the expression on his face. "Well, you are just bumming meals off her. And it is not your home, you can't decide who can go there." he said without too much enthusiasm.
Justin said, "Bad Teacher also wanted to invite you, and she just thought you were too busy."
Edward asked, "What did she say?"
Justin said, "Uncle Edward has got so many dinner parties and is so busy with other affairs. He didn't have time to have dinner with us even I aske him. And also he might have to find excuses to put me off. It's too much trouble."
Justin not only repeated what Jane has said word for word, but imitated her tone of voice vividly.
Hearing this, Edward sneered, "Didn't you know that she was just paying lip service to you?"
Justin was stunned. "Really?"
Edward said, "If she really wants to invite me for dinner, she will ask me directly, instead of considering so much."
Justin smiled. "Well, you know, she is just a drama queen."
The huge screen displayed the English words which meant the game was completed. Edward turned around and said, "You brought sesame cake? "

Justin was sitting with his head up and sat up straight when he heard this. Then he reached out to open the bag on the table. "Bad teacher has made cupcakes."
No wonder, Edward was familiar with the smell.
Edward took one casually and tasted. "Did she ask you to bring it back?" he said indifferently.
"Yeah, we've made ten. Henry and I all have ate one, and then brought the rest back."
Thinking that she had a clear conscience, Edward was quite delighted before. But after knowing that eight cakes were split into two and he was eating the leftovers.
Edward felt hard to swallow the cake in his mouth, though it was tasted. He hought he was expressionless, but Justin glanced at him and said, "Uncle Edward, do you really want to go to the Bad Teacher's home for dinner?"
Edward stayed calm. "I've got a place to eat."
Justin said, "To be fair, she is a good cook."
"Then just invite her to be a chef here." Edward said.
Though Justin's face was still immature, his demeanor was mature for his age. He rested his arms on the back of his head and said, "Inviting her to be a chef here is more difficult than making her be our family. I want to invite her to dinner next week and introduce her to my dad. Who konws, she might be his type."
Edward was eating the cake with anger, and his expression changed slightly when he heard this. He raised his eyes slowly, and tried to said euphemistically, "I called your dad today. He told me that he had prepared a birthday present for you, and would ask someone to send it back in the next two days."
Justin was very sensitive. "What about him? Will he come back?" he immediately asked without blinking.
"He had already booked the plane ticket, but something suddenly came up that he must deal with it personally. So he couldn't get away and would not come back this year." said Edward.
Justin said, "Then we can go to him and give him a surprise."
Edward said, "I've been very busy lately, so I can't go with you. And if you go alone, we will be worried....."
He was afraid that Justin would strongly request to go abroad to find Gary. Because he knew that the reason why Gary couldn't come back has nothing to do with public and private affairs, it was just because he really didn't want to go back to China.
Obviously Justin knew it, how could he did not know that. It has been so many years now and every year there was a new reason why he couldn't come back, which were more or less the same. He was not so stupid as to think that Gary was too busy to contact him once in a year. And when he couldn't help making overseas phone calls, the phone could not be connected all the time and he could only recieved a message at midnight, saying that he was busy before.
Children always felt that what the adults said was true. There were fairy tales, sheriff black cats, Disney in the world. And his dad did loves him, he was just too busy.
But he was twelve years old this year and was going to be thirteen. He couldn't do it like he did when he was a child and let it go.
After a few seconds of silence, Justin shrugged. "Well, then he couldn't see bad teacher this time. "
Edward said, "You can invite Jane to attend your birthday next week."
Jane was so good at cheering children up. With her here, Justin would not be so upset.
"I will invite her when she comes over tomorrow." Justin said.
"I have prepared a gift for you. What else do you want?" said Edward.
Justin said playfully, "I've got plenty to eat and drink. And the teacher is funny, Uncle Edward doesn't blame me. I am so satisfied."
His accent was weird, which mixed with some northeast and southern accent. "What the hell? Where did you learn it?" Edward frowned.
Justin smiled and said, "Aaron taught me, a friend of bad teacher."
After they talked for a while, Justin got up and said, "I'm gonna go back, and I still have some homework to do."
Turning around, he left Edward's room. And before he got to his own room, his eyes were blurred.
