Chapter 134 They Were Treated Differently

Chapter 134 They Were Treated Differently
Jane remembered Edward's words: "I'll beat you so hard that you won't be able to bear children." She also felt like beating the man like that at the moment.
"What did you call me for?" Jane asked, suppressing the unhappy mood of being ridiculed.
"Waiting for you to praise me!" Ken said.
Jane frowned slightly. That she had not yet beaten him showed that she was kind enough. How could she praise him?
"Do you have anything to tell me? If you don't, I'll hang up."
As soon as she finished that, Ken said, "Alas, how could you kick me down the ladder after using me?"
Jane said, "When did I use you?"
Ken said, "If you're not forgetful, you must be pretending to be confused."
Jane said calmly, "I know what I am capable of doing. How could I afford to use such a noble man like you?"
Ken said with a smile, "You didn't use me. I volunteered to be used by you, okay?"
Jane suddenly remembered the private room in the hotel. If Ken's blink upon his leaving was really like what she thought...
"Beth has always been trying to give you trouble and smear your image, hasn't she? Tonight I let her pay for what she did. From now on, she'll be a thief. What do you think? Are you happy with it?"
Ken gave his remark before Jane could say anything. Sure enough, he was deliberate.
Jane asked, "Did she do it?"
Ken said, "Who cares? If I say she did it, then she did it."
Jane said, "I think you know who did it. Although I don't like her, I know it feels bad to be framed."
Ken said acutely, "Don't try to fish for information from me. How could I know who the agent planted around Edward is? Besides, even if I had not said that today, Beth would still have been suspected. Her moral standards are low. Once something happens, everyone thinks about her. She has made herself a disqualified human. It has nothing to do with others."
"You're right. It feels bad to be framed, so I let her eat the bitter fruit of her own making."
Ken's words sounded relaxed and casual, without any guilt in them. This proved that a wicked person was destined to be tortured by another one of their kind.
And Beth's scheming techniques were just a joke for Ken-she was doomed to fail and suffer.
Not hearing Jane's response, Ken said, "These days I've been enduring hardships and setting traps, and I've suffered a lot of sickening losses, only for the sake of venting your spleen. Even if you don't thank me, you should symbolically say a few words to praise me, shouldn't you?"
Jane asked, "Want to hear my heart?"
"Say it."
"You resort to tricks to resolve problems, you are smart and brave, you deal with things resolutely, and you destroy things and people, so I admire you. If I offended you in the past, I beg you to show me mercy. If there're any problems, we can resolve them through talking."
She was praising Ken on the surface but depreciating him, in fact. But Ken took the chance to bring up another topic. "You're right. I do have something to discuss with you."
Jane asked, "What is it?"
Ken said, "Please come out on the 19th evening. Let's have dinner."
Jane said, "What if I say I'm busy?"
Ken deliberately lowered his voice a bit and hinting something, said, "Then I might not help but do something evil. After all, you know, I love to solve problems with tricks, and I'm also smart and brave."
Jane knew he was joking, and her instincts told her that he would not set traps for her, but she had to be vigilant anyway. After all, she didn't have to keep very close ties with him. She was thinking about how to refuse him when a man's voice came from her phone, "Hello."
"What's up?" Jane subconsciously answered while thinking about something.
"Hello, this is Aiden."
The clear voice from her phone was Aiden's indeed. Jane immediately frowned, regretting her unfriendly tone.

"Ah, hello, this is Jane." She was nervously trying to make up for it.
"I know," Aiden said calmly.
Jane's heart was in her throat, but she tried to keep calm and asked, "What did you call me for?"
Aiden said courteously, "Are you free on the 19th day of this month? If you are, let's have dinner."
Jane's mind was blank for a moment when she heard the sudden invitation. But then she answered, "Yes, I am. Please tell me the specific time."
Aiden said, "GraceLand, 8 p.m. of the 19th evening."
"Okay, I'll be there on time."
"Okay, see you there then."
Jane said, "Mr. Cater, I've always wanted to say sorry to you for the trouble caused by my personal action. Thank you for not taking it to heart and having helped me so much."
Aiden said, "Charles highly appreciates your work and your morals in your daily life. I believe in his eyes. The thing is all over. Never mind. Relax and work."
Feeling sorry and warm, Jane said affirmatively, "Don't worry. I'll work much harder."
"I believe in you. Do you want to spare some time to get one more job? I can introduce a customer to you."
Ken's voice again came from her phone. It seemed that Aiden's phone was taken, and the phone taker immediately asked her.
Jane answered, "Thanks for your trust, Mr. Garcia. If I need, I'll tell you."
Ken said, "You're lying. You won't ask me for help when you're in trouble."
Jane was silent, but Ken continued, "You're partial. I asked you to have an appointment, but you said you were busy. Yet, when Aiden asked you to have dinner, you immediately agreed. Have you thought about my feelings? Don't I feel ashamed?"
Jane said, "If you ask me for the first time, I'll also go. But if Mr. Cater is present, I'll feel much safer."
Ken was aggrieved. "What do you mean? Am I a bad guy? I've just helped you. I can set traps for anyone, but I'll never do it to you, my dear sister!"
Jane's mind remained unswayed. "Only you yourself can feel the sweetness of your honeyed tongue. It's suitable to use it to lure and coax a little girl, but it doesn't work for me."
Ken could not help but laugh, "So hard to tease?"
Jane was not sure what he said was "please" or "tease". Anyway, she had labeled him: one of the top three villains in S City. Edward was obviously ferocious, but Ken was... so unpredictable. An ordinary person could not guess which path he would take, so she had better stay away from him.
"My phone is running out of battery. I'll hang up."
Her phone was almost full of power, but Jane said something opposite.
Not taking it to heart, Ken said with a small smile, "Okay, see you on the 19th day."
Jane hung up as she had wished. Then she went home, had a shower, and went to bed. Her mind was at peace before she fell asleep, and she didn't think about anything, but she had a nightmare, dreaming that she was Beth, and that Ken set a very big trap for her in front of Edward so that she became helpless. The point was that Edward did not believe in her. No matter how she explained it, he refused to believe her.
With so much grievance, she said, "I really didn't steal it. If you don't believe me, just fire me."
Edward said, "I've thought about it for so long."
Jane immediately cried, "You like me, don't you? Why not believe in me?"
Edward answered with a dark face, "You've been in my car only a few times, but you've fallen in love with me, eh? Who said I like you? You think too much!"
...
After she woke up from her dream, those emotions she had had in her dream still filled her head, so she was sad and lost. After a while, she climbed out of bed, thinking that the dream was unreasonable and sighing that reality was cruel. But fortunately, she was not Beth, and she did not like Edward. It hurt so severely to be misunderstood and hated by the man one loved.
"Anyway, don't grow interested in men! Don't give anyone the chance to hurt you! It's better to rely on yourself than on others," she thought.
