Chapter 133 Different Men Have Different Styles

Chapter 133 Different Men Have Different Styles
Edward and Jane came out of the hotel, and Edward asked casually, "When did the dating begin?"
"What?" Edward's words did not clearly refer to anything. Even if she was shrewd, Jane was confused.
Edward said, "I remember that last time in Y City, your colleague, who drove you here today, said that the person he liked was not present."
Jane looked calm, but was quite panicky, thinking, "Damn, how could I forget this? No, the point is: why does Edward remember so clearly?"
Not daring to hesitate for too long, she said with an embarrassed smile, "We're not dating."
Everyone could weigh the pros and cons, and the smart ones did it in a shorter time. In less than two seconds, Jane had realized the price of telling lies, so she chose not to do it.
Edward said calmly, "I was wondering, 'How could it be possible for you to get tired of the old and crave for the new so soon?'"
Jane explained, "No, but he truly likes someone."
Edward said, "Good friends should also keep a distance from each other, especially when one is a man and the other a woman. Women are very sensitive and jealous. Beware of being hated."
Jane reaped what she sowed. Now she was so vexed, but she tried to smile naturally. She nodded and said, "Okay, I'll keep an eye on it in the future."
Edward took out the key to start the car and said, "I'll drive you home."
Jane refused him as always, "No, thanks."
Edward stopped beside the car, not getting into it right away. Instead, he put his hand on the car door and stared at her without blinking, saying, "You don't think you'll fall in love with me after riding in my car a few times, do you?"
Motionless, Jane also stared at him without moving her eyeballs.
Edward said, "I'll tell you what I think without hiding anything. If you want to show your attitude every time before getting into my car, saying that you're not interested in me, you can say that. You can say 'I have no interest in you as I haven't had.' Even if we're not in love, it doesn't mean we are not friends. I have a car, and your home is on the way to my home. I don't mind driving you to your home. If you think too much about the future, it means you feel guilty about what you do. It's unnecessary."
Jane's heart suddenly beat faster. "Edward said this, probably because I ruined the drama I made up today," she thought.
She racked her brains for a proper reply. A moment later, she smiled and walked up. "Then I'll do as you say."
The two of them got into the car one after the other. After the car doors were closed, Jane did think she should say something. "Are you getting better now?"
Edward asked in reply, "How many people have you drugged secretly before?"
Not detecting joy or anger in his tone, Jane had to answer honestly, "I've never met anyone who doesn't want to take medicine."
Edward said, "I'm not afraid of taking medicine. It's just an ailment. I'll be fine after having a sleep."
Jane said in an undertone, "Justin also said so."
"But he was cured by me with a dose of strong medicine in the end, wasn't he?" she muttered inwardly.
Of course, Edward knew her implication, and he looked straight ahead. While he was driving, he said, "Someone told me that one doesn't have to take medicine immediately after getting sick. If they can get rid of it without taking medicine, their body will build up resistance."
Jane simply said yes.
Edward asked, "You don't believe it?"
Jane immediately shook her head and said, "No, I don't deny it."
Edward didn't want to explain it anymore, lest he make it worse. Anyway, Jane believed that he was afraid of taking medicine.
They became quiet again, and Jane felt a little embarrassed, not because of anything else, but because she could not totally relax every time she was in Edward's car, not like in Aaron's car. If she was in the latter's car, she could criticize every kind of online music he loved dearly. Now she felt like listening to My Heart Will Go On.
"You made the cake?"
The man's familiar but low voice came from the next seat. Jane paused slightly before saying, "The sesame cake?"
"Yes."
"Yes, I made it."

"Very delicious."
"Thank you."
Edward said, "I ate your cake, but why did you thank me?"
Jane answered, "I wanted to show I was polite."
She would occasionally say something humorous. Having learned it no less than one time, Edward ridiculed expressionlessly, "You were polite when you fought. You won't quarrel with others."
Feeling guilty, Jane lowered her eyes and said, "Don't bring it up again! Justin and Henry laughed at me for days because of it, and my stateliness as a teacher in front of them I've accumulated in the past months has almost gone completely."
Edward said seriously, "Really? What Justin told me about you was all praise. He also watched your video and imitated you."
Thinking of that scene, Jane could not help but feel unhappy. "Little imp!" she cursed in her mind.
Edward asked, "Did you often fight when you were still a student with the poorest academic performance?"
She had changed many years before. Even what Jennifer knew about her was from Aaron. Only Aaron had witnessed her extraordinary but violent years, which had not been mentioned for a long time. Jane whispered, "Are you trying to fish for information and then lower my salary?"
Edward said, "I'm thinking if I need to give you an extra job-teaching Justin Sanda."
Jane was shy, because of her thin skin. Then she answered gently, "I don't often fight."
His eyes glistening with a smile, Edward said, "Help those in need with your angry fists?"
Jane answered, "I used to have the thought of traveling around the world to help the poor by robbing the heartless rich."
Pretending to take it seriously, Edward echoed, "You're tall. That's your advantage for fighting."
Jane said, "I had been short before I went to middle school. I didn't grow tall until later."
Edward said, "You grew tall because you fought frequently."
Feeling that it was a little hard to breathe, Jane said, "Could you open the window, Mr. Smith?"
Edward asked, "Want to jump?"
Jane answered, "Your proposal is better than what I thought."
Edward smiled and pressed the button, lowering the car window on her side a bit.
Not sure if it was her illusion or something, Jane thought that the trip today was not as long as she had imagined, although she had almost gone crazy because of Edward's questions.
The car stopped at the entrance of the building complex where she lived. Jane thanked Edward and got out of the car. Edward said, "Thanks for your noodles, cake, and medicine."
Jane said, "You're welcome. I wish you a speedy recovery."
The two of them said goodbye at the complex entrance. Jane walked into the complex, and Edward drove his car away. "This is the first time someone has wished me a speedy recovery when I'm healthy," he thought.
Before she could reach the building where she lived, Jane received a phone call. She took out her phone and saw Aiden's name on the screen.
It was Charles who had given her Aiden's phone number, asking her to call him when she was free. But as a girl, how could she call a man first? But she had not expected him to suddenly call her.
Standing there motionless, Jane became nervous as she saw the name. She cleared her throat and slid to the answer button and said, "Hello?"
A few coughs came from the phone, and she frowned. "Hello?"
She thought that Aiden had accidentally pressed his phone button, but the man's low voice suddenly came from the other side of the line, "Are you asleep?"
Jane froze and asked, "Did you call the wrong person?"
The man said in a lower voice, "No, I didn't. I did aim to call you."
Her blood surged toward her head, but her limbs were cold. Standing under a tree in the building complex, she was silent with the phone in her hand.
"Hello?" This was the man's voice from the phone.
Jane asked seriously, "Do you think this is fun, Ken?"
After a moment of silence, the man said seriously, "I'm Aiden."
Jane said, "Don't use this stupid trick! Haven't you been to the hospital to examine why you have sour regurgitation?"
The man's giggles came from the phone. Yes, the man was Ken. He said in a lively tone, "How could you talk to a pregnant woman like this? Aren't you afraid my pregnancy is affected?"
