Chapter 129 All Are Scheming

Chapter 129 All Are Scheming
When Edward received Howard's call again, he knew that Jane had accepted Howard's invitation.
Therefore, when Howard told him that Jane would also come to the dinner, he said as usual, "I'll play the host, for just us three."
Howard tentatively said, "Will we talk about the misunderstanding between Beth and your tutor face to face?"
Edward said, "We all know whether it is a misunderstanding or not, and I don't want to see her."
Howard made every effort to invite Edward and Jane, so he immediately said, "Okay, then I'll go there myself. See you tonight."
After hanging up, Howard walked to another room, where Wendy was persuading Beth to be sensible. Howard looked at Beth who was reluctant, "You don't need to go."
Beth was slightly stunned. Wendy quickly looked over and asked, "Edward won't go to dinner tonight?"
Howard said with a sullen face, "He has accepted my invitation, but he doesn't want to see Beth."
Hearing these words, Beth immediately turned pale. Wendy was also embarrassed. After a few seconds of silence, Beth said, "He doesn't want to see me, and I still don't want to see him. Does he think I'm willing to go there?"
Howard said without any expression, "I went to ask that tutor regardless of my dignity. With her consent, Edward agreed then. I don't know what we will achieve tonight. If we treat what happened as a small thing, it's about the money; if we treat it seriously, it's about the relationship between the Brown and Edward Families and our father's status. I hope this is the first and last time. We are adults, so don't let the whole family pay for your own impulse."
After finishing his words, he went to change shoes at the door and left straight away.
Hearing the sound of the closing door, Wendy couldn't help but frowned, complaining, "Are you satisfied with the situation now?"
Beth said, "He only cares about his own business rather than our family."
Wendy said, "If you have time to dislike your brother, why don't you think about yourself? Edward doesn't even want to see you now."
Beth was touched a nerve and didn't admit her fault, saying, "Can't I live without Edward? Many people pursued me in the past few years, but I was blinded by him and only liked him. He values that tutor so much, so then I'll see how long he can do that. Just keep doing that forever if he can!"
Wendy said nervously, "Don't trouble with that tutor again. Haven't you counted the cost yet?"
Beth said, "I won't trouble her. I'm sitting and waiting for the day when she is kicked away by Edward."
Beth went back to her room and cried bitterly. She felt extremely wronged because she was disgraced by Edward. Edward said that he didn't want to see her in a name-and-shame way, which was a total humiliation.
Thinking that Edward and Jane would go out together, Beth felt that the whole S City was watching her joke. No way, she thought. She couldn't just sit around doing nothing and wait to be left with no face.
Women whose hearts were full of revenge and comparison were terrible. They thought they were rational, but in fact, after they calmed down, they would realize that those were crappy tricks.
Beth took out her cell phone and sent a text message to Ken, asking, "Do you have time tonight?"
After a while, Ken called over, "Do you want to invite me to dinner?"
Beth said, "Are you free?"
Ken said, "You won't bother me for nothing. I need to know what you want me to do or to help you after this dinner."
He said clearly, and Beth replied to him, "My brother will have dinner with Edward tonight."
She spoke her words vaguely, but Ken still subtly understood, saying, "I heard that Edward is going to turn all your brother's shares into cash and gave them to him. Is your brother going to make peace with Edward?"

Beth said, "Hmm."
Ken said, "Well, it was not your fault, but now you felt deeply disgraced."
Beth gritted her teeth and didn't say anything. Ken said, "Then why do you come to me? Being afraid that your big brother can't convince Edward so that I can do business with him then?"
Beth said, "No, it has nothing to do with money. I won't take such a big advantage of you, and I just want to ask you to have dinner. If you want, we'll meet at Maple Restaurant at 7:00 p.m.."
Ken said, "Seven o'clock is not okay."
Beth said, "Then what time are you free?"
Ken said, "I'll pick you up from your house at 6:30 p.m.. How can I let you drive yourself to the restaurant?"
Ken turned his glib tongue into sweet words, and Beth knew that he was just acting. However, she was still glad to have such a person accompanying her because Ken and Edward were neck-and-neck in S City, which wouldn't make her lose face.
Without refusing, Beth answered, "Okay, see you at 6:30."
Around 6:50 p.m., Ken drove Beth to Maple Restaurant. Just after Ken got out of the car, he saw an Audi that had also just pulled over at the curb. Jane got out of the car from the passenger seat side, followed by Aaron, who got out of the car from the driver's seat.
From Ken's angle, he could see Jane and Aaron standing face to face. Aaron was adjusting her hair, behaving intimately.
Slightly raising his eyes, Ken wondered, "What the h*ll?"
Aaron secretly said in a low voice, "Does Edward come? We can't just act here."
Jane saw around from the corner of her eyes, whispering, "He won't come in advance on such occasions. Seriously, can you smile?"
Aaron curved up the corners of his mouth, saying, "I am smiling."
Edward felt very uncomfortable during the day. At noon, he ate half a bowl of noodles and a whole cake, and then he fell asleep. Then he unexpectedly recovered at night. He drove to Maple Restaurant, and he saw Jane before he parked the car in the ground parking space.
Jane, wearing a long black coat that covered her knees, was standing motionless on the curb. Opposite Jane was Aaron standing on the road, who was adjusting her hair.
If Edward arrived a moment earlier, he would have found Aaron had acted the same action a dozen or twenty times, and Jane had been chattering that his acting was too fake. However, Edward felt they were a real couple.
The lights shone on Jane's face. Jane felt something, so she looked sideways, observing that Edward was sitting in the black SUV. Their eyes met, and Jane slightly smiled.
Aaron immediately understood Jane's hint, so he patted her head, got into the car, and left.
Edward stopped the car. Jane went to Edward and said with a smile, "Mr. Edward."
She secretly thought, "Look, I don't like you."
Edward said as usual, "Let's go."
They walked in side by side, and before they entered the private room, they saw Ken and Beth sitting at a table in the hall. Jane was suspicious in mind, but she pretended as normal. She thought, "Why are Ken and Beth together? Is it true that Ken will play with Edward's women?"
Ken looked at Jane and asked with interest, "Did your boyfriend go?"
Jane originally didn't want to answer, but Ken knew that Aaron was not her boyfriend. What she did today was to let Edward know that she was not interested in him, so after weighing the pros and cons, she nodded.
Ken laughed and said, "Why did you ask your boyfriend to leave? He can have dinner with us if it is not convenient for him to eat with you."
Jane didn't speak, and Edward said, "Don't look at dirty things before dinner."
When they were about to walk forward, the door of the opposite room was opened. Howard walked out, greeting Edward, "Edward."
He walked around the decorations, only to find Ken and Beth sitting at a table beside.
What the h*ll.
