Chapter 128 The Dinner That She Can't Refuse

Chapter 128 The Dinner That She Can't Refuse
Knowing that he had reached the point, Howard immediately understood that Edward was pissed off because of Jane Cooper.
After hanging up the phone, Edward was still quietly enjoying the sesame cake alone. The cake tasted neutral at first, but Edward gradually tasted some sweetness. Therefore, he would ask Jane how to make the cake if he could meet her tonight.
Jane was free now, which was rare, so she went to Jennifer after leaving the Smith family. Jennifer recently was extremely busy, traveling all the time, and she also just went back to S City yesterday.
In Jennifer's office, Jane sat back on the sofa, while Jennifer was preparing food and drink for her, chattering, "Could you please act like you're happy to be here even if you just sit here? People will think that you're here to check out our work."
Jane said thoughtfully after a while, crossing her hands on her chest, "I shouldn't look after a single man."
Jennifer sat opposite Jane and replied to Jane, "I have never been to the Smith family, but from your description, their family is extremely lack of females. You are the only woman in a house of men. As Justin is still young, we don't take him into consideration, but you still have to keep a distance with Edward."
Jane felt wronged and said, "I'm doing so for the sake of Justin."
Jennifer said, "I believe in your words now, but we need Edward to also believe your words. Maybe he thinks you're going to avail yourself of the opportunity to be his wife."
The more Jane thought about it, the more unpleasant she was. She said, "I can't go to emphasize to him that I don't like him, so please don't worry. I just think you're poor, so I take care of you by hand."
Jennifer simmered with laughter and said, "You can have a try, and maybe Edward would rather you pity him than you like him. After all, he has warned you clearly before."
Since childhood, Jane had always been the one who was pursued, and it was the first time that a man had told her that he had no interest in her, and that she only needed to be a good teacher. It seemed that if Jane had some other feelings toward Edward, he would immediately fire her. Thinking of this, Jennifer couldn't help laughing.
Jane kept a straight face, thinking about whether she needed to find an opportunity to hint at Edward or not, so they could both feel at ease.
Jennifer took a sip of coffee and said, "Did it go away that you beat Beth?"
Jane drew back her thoughts and answered, "The company didn't get to the bottom, and my bonus for six months has been deducted."
Hearing this, Jennifer felt pitiful about the money and said, "They didn't get to the bottom but still deducted your bonus for half a year? Your performance is so good, so they have deducted such a large amount of money."
Jennifer couldn't hear anything bad about money, but Jane didn't feel sad about the deduction and said, "If it were not for the mercy of the company to forgive me, I might be jobless now."
Jennifer slightly raised her eyes, squeezed her eyebrows, and said, "I heard from Hunter that Aiden personally made the decision. What did he mean?"
Jane asked, "What are you talking about?"
Jennifer said, "Don't play dumb with me. It was such a big event, and it ended up with his decision that the company wouldn't get to the bottom. No follow-up?"
Jane said, "What kind of follow-up do you want?"
Jennifer pondered and said, "Follow-ups about the boss likes me, idol subordinate is crazy about love, or I chase for the boss with the thirty-six plans... Anything about campus, love, workplace, marriage, and so on. It depends on which one you like."
Jane returned her with an indifferent gaze and said, "From your conjecture, I can determine that the style of scripts you have recently signed a contract with are weird."

Jennifer lifted her chin and said, "Do you want to give me some more inspiration?"
Jane said, "I have a bloody and violent topic about beating my best friend. Do you think it's unique?"
Jennifer suddenly put on another expression and said, "I almost forget without your reminder. I heard that Edward recently got extremely angry. Do you know it?"
Jane said, "I don't know much gossip as you do."
Jennifer said, "It is rumored that he has beaten a group of people, but the specific reason is not clear. I can't get the first-hand news from him, so I think you will know about it."
Jane said half-jokingly and half-seriously, "Beating a group of people? No wonder he got sick. I guess it cost too much physical strength."
Jennifer said, "You are really calm, not curious about anything. If I were in the Smith family as a tutor, I would know every detail about these things."
Jane said, "You can have a try, and you can see whether Edward will do something to you or not before you get those details."
Jennifer said, "That depends on what he will do to me."
Jane sneered and said, "Charming men make women fall."
Jennifer said, "I like handsome men, okay? Even if you don't covet his fortune, he is definitely a handsome man from his look and body shape."
Jane asked, "So do you want me to introduce him to you?"
Jennifer said, "It's not necessary. Some people can only be viewed from a distance but not touched close and personal."
Jane thought of Edward's naked body when hearing the words touch close and personal. From his back to the lateral lumbar fossa, from his hip bone to the long legs, she almost saw everywhere in his lower body except the secret place.
Jane dropped her eyes and reached the cup in front of her, while Jennifer didn't notice her unusual, still murmuring.
Jane's phone rang. She took out the phone and found the call was from a stranger. She got through, "Hello?"
A male voice came from the phone, "Hello, Miss Cooper, this is Howard Brown, Beth Brown's brother."
Jane's expression changed slightly, but she still said in the same tone, "Hello, what's up?"
Howard said, "I just heard that Beth had some misunderstanding with you and did something improper. Therefore, I would like to ask you to have dinner with me tonight, and I will apologize to you face to face."
Jane wasn't sure about the Brown family's attitude for a while, so she said cautiously, "It has gone, and I don't want to divide it into right and wrong."
Howard said, "Miss Cooper, I know you are sensible, and my sister should be to blame this time. Don't worry. I promise that she won't trouble you anymore after tonight, and I really want to invite you to dinner, not just to simply say a sorry."
At this moment, Jennifer observed something unusual and looked at Jane without blinking.
Jane said, "It's enough to have your words, Mr. Brown. I'm not just paying lip service, but I appreciate your kindness."
Howard said, "The whole Brown Family are very sorry and shameful for what Beth has done. I heard that it also brought you a lot of trouble, so I hope to apologize on behalf of the family in person. I also hope that Miss Cooper can understand my difficulty as a son and Beth's brother. I have been living abroad all the time, and I rushed back immediately when I heard what happened here. I've called Edward before and wanted him to invite you, but he was unwilling to do this. Therefore, I shamelessly invite you to have dinner because if we don't get it straight, it will be a misunderstanding forever."
Howard was so good at talking, untraceable bringing out Edward, and let Jane know the call between him and Edward, which meant that Edward knew the invitation before, and he even tacitly approved.
Jane could save no face to the Brown family, but couldn't sweep the face of Edward. After thinking for a moment and clearing what had happened, she replied to Howard, "Okay, when do we meet?"
Howard immediately told her the hotel address and time, and Jane hung up then.
