Chapter 48 Win the Heart of the Little Fatty
Obviously, these two young women didn't know what to do with the little fatty. They had no choice but to leave bitterly. While leaving, they took a glance at Jane, full of disdain.
The little fatty threw darts towards the wall, it seemed that he was really good at it and no one could match him. Jane stood not far away and watched for a while. Well, not too bad. Though he couldn't score the bull's-eye, the 7th or 8th ring was OK.
When he threw away all the darts and went over to the dart board to get them, Jane stepped forward and said, "Can I have a try?"
"They all have gone, and I don't need anyone to accompany or please me. Just go and find Vincent." Henry Perez said over his shoulder.
Jane said, "I don't know anyone here, and I couldn't get involved."
Feeling puzzled, Henry turned his head and glanced at her, "Didn't Vincent bring you here?"
Jane said, "I came with Mr.Smith, Edward Smith."
Henry didn't say anything. He came to Jane with a dart in his hand, and just as he got ready to throw, "You should stand here." said Jane.
Henry turned to see her feet pointing at the ground 0.98 feet behind him. "The standard distance is 8 feet, and it's almost here." she said firmly.
Henry said nothing, and stepped back a few seconds later and stood at the place as Jane said. Then he raised his hand and hit the 5th ring finally. Glancing at the board, he frowned. The second one was between the 5th ring and the 6th ring and the third one was the 6th ring... After throwing all the darts, none of them were within the 8th ring.
Jane walked to the wall to get the dart, and then hand it to Henry, who didn't take it and just said casually, "Give it a shot."
He was just waiting gleefully for her to fail. Standing parallel to him, Jane raised her hand and finally hit the 9th ring.
It must be a coincidence. Henry remained a poker face.
So was Jane. She raised her hand again and hit the very edge of the bull's eye, which can already be counted as the 10th ring. Henry tried to be calm. He didn't believe it and thought it was just because she felt good today.
When throwing the dart, Jane looked straight and threw it without any hesitation once she got it. It only took her a very short time to throw it each time. Except for the first two darts, the rest all hit the bull's-eye.
Henry was finally convinced and said, "You are really a expert."
Jane turned her head and smiled, "I just have a good vision."
Henry didn't accept it, and asked, "Do you know any other games? "
"What do you want to play?"
Then Henry walked to the football machine. "It's been a long time." Standing opposite him, Jane whispered.
"As long as you know how to play." Henry said.
He has already made up his mind to attenuate the shame before. However, just a few minutes later, he became fickle and was totally in a muddle under Jane's attack. Then he suddenly released the handle and said, "I'm out of it today, let's play another one."
Jane remained calm and nodded. Then the two just sat in front of the same game machine playing King of Fighters at which Henry excelled. Being so invincible, he even didn't want to play with others. But he has got into a fuss this time and just wanted to redeem himself.
Jane lost in the first round. Sure enough, Henry was so excited that he almost jumped up. And then he said to Jane earnestly, "Not too bad."
"When I was young, there was no match for me in my class." Jane said seriously.
Henry said, "You are really good at using combo attack. But you need to be faster."
Jane didn't even look at him, and she just stared at the screen and said, "One more time."
At this moment, it seemed that Henry has seen a soulmate of him who was totally concentrated on games. Well, abstraction was not allowed in games.
They have spent more than half an hour playing the game and competing against each other. Jane could win four or five in ten rounds. When Edward Smith appeared, she was just knocking out Henry. While the little child was so impatient that he even couldn't sit on the chair and was about to bounce. "I was just so lucky in this round. And if you'd done that combo any faster, I couldn't have avoided it." Jane said calmly.
Henry said, "How did you use that big trick just now? I've never seen it before."
"Press these buttons like this.." Jane said.
Then the two sat side by side, one listening patiently, and one explaining carefully. Though in front of them was a game machine, they were not ignorant and incompetent at all in other's eyes.
There was an expected smile showed on Edward's face, as if he has seen how Jane took Justin.
Vincent Perez came from behind and saw Edward standing beside the pillar. "What are you peeking at?" he said deliberately.
Jane and Henry turned their heads and saw them a few feet away. Edward looked the same as usual. He walked to Henry, fumbled through his hair and asked, "What do you think of Miss Cooper?"
Jane got up. And Henry got out from Edward's hand, "What ?" he asked, running his fingers through his hair.
Vincent said, "She is the tutor that your brother found for you. Don't you know that? Seeing you guys having so much fun, I thought you had introduced each other already."
Jane looked at Henry, and said with a smile, "Hi, I'm Jane."
Henry was a little bit confused, and he asked after a while, "You teach games?"
Vincent said, "You wish. I'm not trying to scare you. Mom said that if you fail your physics next semester, you will be sent abroad. And at that time, no one can help you so far away, much less take you out."
Henry pulled his long face, and felt so embarrassed in front of Jane.
"Miss Cooper is not only a good educator, but also a excellent gamer. With her help, even if your physics can't be improved, your game level won't drop anyway." said Edward .
Henry was noncommittal about this. Then Vincent Perez smiled and said to Jane, "Well, Miss Cooper, I'll leave him to you. Thank you so much.''
Jane smiled and replied, "No problem, I just asked Henry to teach me to play the games."
In fact, she was very skillful in King of Fighters. The reason why she said that was to make him look good. And this was also exactly the way to deal with him, just like he wanted to be the elder brother.
Hearing what Jane said, Henry suddenly became excited. He looked at Edward and said, "Edward, are you better at darts than her?"
Edward quickly glanced at Jane. He has never seen her play darts.
Defeated by Jane, Henry was eager to find someone to help him. So he insisted on asking Edward to compete with her. "It's really not my thing." Jane said politely.
Henry was surprised and said, "Come on, you are definitely a crack shot."
Edward took a few darts in his hand, and said, "Just for fun. Take your best shot and don't go easy on me."
He was telling Jane not to treat him as a child. There is no way back.
Vincent immediately came along for the ride and also asked others to join in the fun. The rule was that if they bet on Jane, they could get 5 times of their money. And if they bet on Edward, they could get 2 times of it. The men here were all eager to protect the beauty, betting that Jane would win. While the women all bet on Edward.
Henry stood aside and said to Jane, "Come on! don't make me look bad in front of them."
Jane nodded. "You little bastard! Once you have a teacher, there is no need of me." Edward said softly.
Vincent said, "Well, she is prettier than you."
