Chapter 49 Care

Chapter 49 Care
They all had four darts. Lady first. Jane's first three darts all hit the pull's-eye, and the last one was almost in the center.
Vincent Perez clapped his hands and said, "Miss Cooper really deserves her name."
Snorting inaudibly, Edward stood about 3.3 feet behind Jane and suddenly began to throw. The first dart flied over Jane's head and finally hit right in the bull's eye, sticking close to the last dart Jane threw.
Because he didn't stand at the same horizontal line with Jane, no one expected him to throw the dart from such a long distance. Not even Jane, who still frozen in her stance. And before she could dodge, Edward's second darts had already been thrown, which still flied over her and hit exactly in the bull's-eye. And also squeezed out her green dart on the board.
The women besides were all applauding, and Jane quickly stepped aside. Edward has thrown four darts, of which all hit the bull's-eye and some even squeezed out two of Jane's.
Since the game was set, the women shared the money happily. And Vincent teased, "As a man,we should show our tenderness towards women."
"Friendship comes after competition in sports rivals.'' said Edward.
Vincent egged Jane and said, "Look at him! How rampant he is!"
Jane smiled and shook her head, " I'm no match for Mr.Smith."
"Let's quit and cut the cake. I'm hungry." said Edward.
Then they walked towards the dining room. Henry walked at Edward's side and said, "Edward, can you teach me to throw darts?"
Edward said, "Go and ask your teacher. And if one day you are as good as she is, I'll teach you then."
Henry turned to look at Jane, "How old are you?" he suddenly asked.
"Twenty-four."
"You're just only eight years older than me."
Edward pulled him in his arms and said with a chuckle, "Well, what kind do you want? eighty?"
"Shall I do some elderly care?" said Henry.
Vincent said, "Anyone who can have you on a short leash can enjoy this."
"Then call me Daddy." said Edward.
It was the first time she saw Edward Smith's friend, and also the first time she saw him joke with others since they met half month ago. He was really relaxed and free in private, just like a normal person. Especially when being with Henry Perez, he was more like a brother to Henry Perez than Vincent Perez.
Seeing Henry Perez, Jane could easily think of Justin, who was not Edward Smith's son, but his nephew. Regardless of whether Edward Smith have payed enough attention to Justin's education, there was no doubt that he was very responsible and has taken great care of him. After all, men's love was different from women's and it was not easy for him to do that.
So Edward Smith was definitely not a evil person, at least not as heinous as it was rumored outside.
When they came to the dining room, someone wheeled out a big cake,as tall as a man, with a cart. Those smooth talkers were all wishing Vincent Perez a happy birthday and Henry Perez put a crown on Vincent Perez's head which they had no idea who it was from. Standing under the crystal chandelier, Vincent Perez was enraptured and instantly glowed like a minister favored by the leader in a certain dynasty.
He made two wishes. The first was, "I hope Henry can lose 20 pounds in the coming year."
Well, people's eyes all fell on the chubby Henry at the moment, which made him frown. "It's your birthday. Do not talk about me."
Vincent said, "Only I know you best. Though you didn't say it, you have been troubled by this for a long time, right?"

Henry was so angry that he looked away and tried to ignore him.
Vincent was not surprised, and continued, "The second is, I hope Edward can always do devil and immerse himself in love, but still be single."
It seemed to be warm and sweet at first, but then the tone changed. Jane was confused for a moment. While Edward Smith had already said, "Do not take advantage of me."
Then the focus of his talk quickly shifted from Henry Perez to Edward Smith. It was easy for the outsiders to get confused.
"The birthday only comes once in a year, and you are involved in my wishes every time. I don't need you to be grateful and just keep it in your mind." Vincent said sincerely.
Edward said, "Get off my back and cut the cake quickly. Henry is starving."
He suddenly switched the conversation to Henry. "Edward!" Henry looked at him and said.
Edward smiled and touched his head. Though Henry was angry, he dared not speak.
After a simple ritual, Vincent Perez said, "Let's cut the cake, and give it to Edward and Henry. They can't wait."
Then Amy Young cut the cake with a knife, while the rest were already seated at the table. She gave the first piece of cake to Henry Perez, and the second to Edward Smith, who casually gave his cake to Jane beside him without even looking at her while talking with others.
But the smaller the action was, the more attention it attracted. And Amy Young just saw it. She specially cut a large and well-shaped one for Edward Smith, but he just gave it to Jane without even looking at it.
"Thank you." Jane whispered.
The third one was still given to Edward Smith who had a sweet tooth. Well, others might eat the cake just for the birthday. But to him, it was his dinner. While some people have not yet got the cake, he has already said, "Give me another one."
Jane had a weird sense of humor and was easily amused. Seeing this, she sniggered without making any sound. But Edward still noticed it. He looked at her and said, "Are you laughing at me?"
Meeting his gaze, Jane wanted to shake her head at once but she didn't.
Looking at each other for a while, Edward said calmly, "If you hadn't been playing games over there, I should have had dinner an hour ago."
Jane quickly nodded. "Well, enjoy yourself."
Their voice was not aloud, but Vincent Perez still noticed it. "What are you talking about?" he asked.
Edward said arrogantly, " I just told her that Henry was a good boy. And you, just forget it."
Vincent frowned and said, "You cunning fox. Make me a fool on my 27th birthday."
Edward remained calm and said, "The child is father of the man. And you will still be like this when you get old."
"Henry is here, so I won't dig dirty about you. And same to you." Vincent said angrily.
Edward raised his hand and touched Henry's head. "Don't be like your brother when you grow up."
Henry Perez was lowering his head to eat. Hearing this, he replied without raising his head, "OK, I'll learn form you."
Edward couldn't help smiling and said, "What a ambitious boy."
Vincent sighed, "You're done. You might as well learn from me."
Edward said," Henry is a clever boy."
"Too young, too ignorant." said Vincent.
After speaking that, he crossed Edward Smith to Jane, picked up the wine glass and said, "Miss Cooper, here's to you. Thank you for your help and I really appreciate it."
Whether it was a joke or not, Jane had to say something. But just as she was about to get the wineglass at the table. Edward Smith put his hand over the rim of the glass, and then poured the red wine from her glass into his own cup and said, "Get her a drink."
