Chapter 94 Everyone Is Confused Except Him

Chapter 94 Everyone Is Confused Except Him
Smith had stayed in Y City for a full week. It was not the Johnson Family that troubled him and didn't let him come back. On the contrary, the Johnson Family and the other two families made amends to apologize to him. One family invited him to have dinner today, and the other family invited him to play ball the next day. They even brought their sons to apologize to him at the hotel door, hoping that he would come back soon.
Smith also waited for someone for a few days this week. Every time he came to Y City, he had to pay a visit to the Wilson family. However, Mr. Wilson was not in Y City, and he asked someone to ask Smith to stay in Y City for a few more days. Therefore, Smith stayed in Y City for such a long time, which almost scared the Johnson Family and the other two to death.
Smith got everything done, so he was not angry anymore. He went back to S City then. When he arrived home at noon, he found Justin and Jane having lunch at home together.
Justin said to Smith, "Uncle Edward."
Jane turned her head and called him after Justin, "Mr. Smith."
Smith said, "Hmm," and then asked Justin, "You haven't made any trouble in the past few days, have you?"
Justin quickly took a glance at Jane and said more quickly, "No, I haven't."
Smith knew that Justin was a little guilty, but he didn't speak out. He said in a flat voice, "Have your lunch then."
He turned around to leave, and Jane said, "Mr. Smith..."
Smith stopped and looked at her. Jane got up and took out the game-testing phone and a folded paper from the bag. She handed them to him and said, "My friend has already gotten the game clearance. This is a little advice from him, and you can read it to see whether it is helpful or not."
Smith took it and said, "Thanks."
Jane said, "You're welcome. My friend said the game was good, and it will be a blockbuster when it's released."
Smith said, "Thanks for his kind words. I'll send some gift cards to him after releasing the game."
They said just a few words, keeping silent about what had happened in Y City. Smith thought that it was unnecessary to mention what had happened that day, while Jane didn't know what had happened in the lounge on the day of the wedding. She didn't link the disappearance of the three best men and Smith's absence together. She just thought that Smith left early like Garcia.
On the next day, Jane knew from Mrs.Perez that Smith finally got the approval to run a school in Y City.
Mrs.Perez was making a call to a friend at that time, who should be from Y City and was considering which school her child would go to. At that time, Mrs.Perez said, "You don't have to come to S city because Deerfield School will soon run a branch in Y City. You can find a good school for your child at home."
After the class, Jane left the Perez family and called Susan Miller at once.
Susan picked up quickly, "Jane."
Jane said, "Susy, sorry to disturb you and Anderson on your honeymoon, but I have something to ask you."
Susan said frankly, "Don't stand on the ceremony. What's up?"
Jane said, "We talked before that Cater wanted to run a school in Y City, and he was waiting for the approval. Have they made the approval yet?"
Susan said in surprise, "Is that so? I didn't know that."
She added quickly, "Wait for me a second. I'll ask Anderson."
Susan directly asked because Anderson was beside her. She replied to Jane after a while, "Yes, you're right. The approval has been made, but it was not for Cater."
Although Jane knew that Cater was likely to lose the approval, she still felt upset upon hearing Susan's words. Susan asked, "Jane, why do you suddenly ask about this?"
Jane secretly got her breath and said, "Susy, can you ask Anderson why the approval was not given to Cater in the end?"

Susan was a frank person, so instead of passing words between Jane and Anderson, she simply put the phone on speaker since they were in Mauritius, surrounded by foreigners, and it was free to talk.
Susan asked Anderson for Jane, "Why was the approval not given to Cater?"
Jane couldn't see Anderson's expression, but she thought Anderson would be difficult to talk about this thing. He had to save face for her wife's best friend, so he replied simply, "It was either because he didn't have a connection in high places, or he didn't deal with the relationship well with the top leader."
Susan interjected, "Didn't you say before that Cater had dinner with the top leader several times and their relationship was quite good?"
Anderson said, "I personally appreciate Cater and also hope that he can get the approval. However, I'm not sure about what the leader thinks."
People shouldn't think too much. Jane was so smart, but she was still affected by overthinking. Anderson just made a normal analysis, but she was worried that Cater would be affected by what he did for her.
After a few more words, Jane hung up. She kept thinking the reason why he didn't get the approval was her or not in the next two hours.
Jane was so stubborn actually that she would stick to what she determined. If she couldn't make clear the matter, she would be nervous in a short time. Picking up her phone, she found out Garcia's phone number and called him after a little hesitation.
The phone was answered after a few rings, and Jane could imagine Garcia's extremely surprised face through the phone. He said with a smile, "Wrong number?"
Jane said, "No, I made the call to you."
The smile spread wider over Garcia's face, and he said, "Yo, it's rare that you would take the initiative to call me."
Jane said, "Is it convenient for you now?"
Garcia said, "It won't be convenient for me if other people ask me except you. What's up?"
Jane said, "Can you give me Cater's phone number?"
Garcia paused for a second and then said, "You called me at 9:03 p.m. for Cater's phone number?"
Jane said, "I have something to ask him."
Garcia asked, "What is it?"
Jane was not guilty and said directly, "On the day of the wedding, one of the best men made trouble with me. Cater passed by and helped me out, and later I learned that the best man's father is the top leader in the Education Bureau of Y City. Today I heard that the Education Bureau gave the approval to others, so I wonder if it was because of me..."
Garcia asked, "Which man made trouble with you?"
Jane didn't focus on his words and casually said, "Andy Johnson."
Pausing for a while, Garcia said, "You don't have to overthink. Cater didn't get the approval not because of you, but because of Smith."
Hearing this, Jane didn't know what to say.
Garcia said, "Smith used some methods behind so that the leader in the Education Bureau of Y City had to give him the approval. Don't you know it?"
Jane asked, "Know what?"
Garcia said, "Nothing, just some business tactics. You'd better not know them."
Jane didn't know whether she should be relieved or sorry for Cater. Noticing that she was silent, Garcia said with a half-smile, "You seem to be not so happy as Smith got the approval."
Jane didn't fall into his trick. She immediately calm down and said, "I won't get a pay raise no matter who gets the approval, and I'm just afraid that the good person will be dragged down by me. I will convey my blessings to Mr. Smith in a private way."
Garcia said, "He would achieve the goal by any means, so you don't need to bless him."
Jane said, "It's late, and I won't disturb you then. Goodbye."
"Hey..." Garcia called her, but Jane had already hung up. He looked at the screensaver page and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Only she didn't save any face for him, getting rid of him when she didn't need his help.
However, why did Smith beat Andy so hard that Andy got seventeen stitches?
