Chapter 91 He Exists in Her Imagine
Returning to the banqueting hall from the bathroom, Jane accidentally found that Edward Smith has left. And her first instinct was that he might have drank too much and was vomiting in the bathroom.
She subconsciously glanced at the table where Aiden Cater was at, finding that he and Ken Garcia were not there either. Before she could think it over carefully, Jennifer beside her towed her toward the seat. "Let's go eat something, I'm starving."
A lot of people who came to the wedding just wanted to show their support for the couple. So they just greeted Cornel Anderson and then left without having meal. There were also only a few people left at the table where Jane was at. Aaron Hunter sat down and put the bridal bouquet on the empty seat next to him. "You don't mean to bring it back to S City, do you?" Jennifer teased.
"Why not? What are you afraid of ? The wedding gift for my wedding?" said Aaron.
Jennifer pouted. "Come on. If you can make Charles Lee your girlfriend, I'll take a double."
Aaron said, "Remember what you said. And Jane can back me up on this."
Jane said nothing. "Don't bother her! She just met Aiden Cater and was totally carried away now." Jennifer said to Aaron.
Aaron looked Jane across Jennifer, "Are you okay?" he asked.
Jane remained calm, and said as usual, "If you two could put your minds on the right thing, you would've already got what you wanted ."
"Finally, you met him. You've got good chance before. Why didn't you just cling on to him? Save him when he was frustrated, and then he would fall in love and marry you." said Jennifer.
Jane was just picking up a piece of sizzling beef. Hearing this, she turned to looked at Jennifer. "Do you want to marry a piece of charcoal and roasted meat?"
Jennifer pursed her lips. "Eagles catch no flies."
Aaron said, "This is not true love. I'd do anything for Charles, even to die."
"Repeat it. I'll record it with my phone, and then send it to Charles anonymously when I go back." Jennifer said excitedly.
While they were gagging, Jane's cell phone rang. It was Ken Garcia.
She answered this time, "Hello."
"Would you have time to have dinner with me tonight?" he asked.
Jane turned her head, and looked at the empty seat of him and Aiden Cater. They were not here.
"We're flying back to S City about six o'clock."
Ken said, "You are leaving so early. I was just hoping that we could have dinner together. Since you and Aiden know each other."
Hearing Aiden Cater, Jane said softly, " Please tell Mr. Cater that I'm really grateful to him."
Ken was a little bit upset and said, "I'm the one who invited you, not him."
"It's not about the dinner. And I do want to thank you this time." said Jane.
"Then tell him yourself." said Ken Garcia.
Before Jane could refuse, there was no sound on the phone. And then a strange and familiar male voice came after a few seconds. "Hello."
Jane was instantly nervous. "Hello...Mr. Cater. This is Jane."
"Speaking, please."
The more calm Aiden Cater was, the more flustered Jane was. She didn't want to leave a bad impression on him every time. So she tried to be calm and said, "Thank you for helping me today. And also thank you for your coat."
"Don't mention it." Aiden Cater replied unexpectedly.
According to his principle of interacting with others and conducting himself. Anyone in such case, he would do the same.
Though not being treated particularly by him, Jane was not disappointed. And she was even more gratified that her idol was really a good person.
"It seemed that your hands were burned. You can rinse it with cold water. And for a quick recovery, you'd better buy a tube of scalding cream to apply."
"Okay, thank you." said Aiden Cater.
"Actually, I'm the one who should thank you." Jane said immediately.
"No problem."
Jane, "..."
It seemed that this was all about their conversation. Jane felt so embarrassed, and Aiden Cater also noticed it. So he took the initiative and said, "I'll give it to Ken."
Then the phone returned to Ken Garcia again. Jane immediately relaxed, and hung up after chatting for a while.
Jennifer and Aaron beside her all didn't start eating. Obviously, they were not waiting for her, and just wanted to listen to the gossip. For fear that the sound of chewing would overwhelm the voice on the phone, Jane set down the phone. Jennifer couldn't help tutting and said, "Though this is the first time you met him after graduation. It seemed that you were so worried about his health."
Jane stayed calm. "First, I have a conscience. And I just be grateful for his help. Second, I have good vision. And you can't see it doesn't mean I can't."
Jennifer said, "Why are you so emotional? I didn't say anything. And I just think it weird that you, a person with a hard heart, would care someone one day. I'm not saying it is love. Like you said, it is just worship. But it's still much better than showing a expressionless face when you deal with others. At least, you are expressive in front of Aiden Cater."
Jane looked serious. "It seems that there is a long way to go."
Even if Jennifer didn't say this, she has also noticed that she was always inexplicably nervous in front of Aiden Cater. Today was just an act. And she would't be so frizzy next time.
The wedding was as much hassle, and they all even didn't grab anything to eat. After the luncheon, Susan Miller insisted on inviting them to dinner. But a few people refused directly, saying that it would be better to get a room upstairs to take a rest. Getting up so early today, they were all sleepy now.
Then Susan checked in quickly and took them upstairs. "Since you all came in a hurry and got jobs to do, I'm not going to ask you to stay here. But when I come to S City, let's grab dinner sometime. It's on me." he said.
Jennifer said, "You don't need to treat us in S City."
"My treat. I'm afraid that it will be a large expense to someone." said Aaron.
Jennifer said, "There is no difference between you and me. We are tight."
Susan said to Jane, "You guys come to here to be my bridesmaids from far away. But I didn't even treat you to a good meal, and almost got you in trouble."
Jane smiled and said, "Anderson said it was a good luck."
Speaking of this, Susan said, "Since you and Aaron all worked in Forward Education. Do you have any dealings with Aiden Cater?"
Jane shook her head. "No."
Susan said, "I saw that you returned his clothes. So I thought you were very close."
Jane said honestly, "How could we usually see a big shot like him? This was the first time I saw him in person after graduation."
Susan said, "You are right. I heard that he is doing a large amount of business now and wants to run a school in Y City recently. He has already found a lot of connections here, and just was waiting for the approval from the big boss of Anderson."
Jennifer asked, "Can it be approved?"
Susan said, "They all want to share the cake, and he is not the only one who competes this. So it's hard to say who will finally be the winner."
Jennifer asked in a low voice, "Anderson can't call the shots?"
Susan said with a smile, "He has always been thinking highly of Aiden Cater. But he is just the second commander. Since the big boss is here, he is obviously not in the position to make the final decision."
Jennifer asked, "The big boss doesn't see eye to eye with Anderson?"
Susan said, "Not really. He also asked his youngest son, called Andy Johnson, to be the best man at the wedding."
Hearing what she said, Jane was a little bit shocked. Andy Johnson?
Will he be mad at Aiden Cater for what happened today?
