Chapter 9: Someone Made Things Difficult For Her
Forward Education was an educational institution that developed rapidly in first-tier cities in recent years, and the rich thought highly of it. In the industry, it was called the Genius Camp, while the outside world jokingly called it the Cash-burning Camp, because many privates teachers despised the poor and curried favour with the rich.
Although people evaluated it in different ways, no one could deny the outstanding performance of Forward Education in the education industry. Forward Education mainly provided service for students who were about to attend entrance examination for senior middle school and college entrance examination. They promised that the students could be admitted to the schools they liked in a year regardless of their foundation.
It had been established for three years, and all the students who studied here were admitted to the schools they liked, which had attracted a large number of rich people to queue up for appointments with money. When ordinary people were spending a lot of time fighting for an uncertain future, rich people had bought a bright future with money.
At more than eight o'clock in the morning, Jane appeared in the most luxurious area in the central business district and bought breakfast and milk. She had to compete for the elevator with hundreds of people, so she arrived in advance. When she came to the company, there were more than ten minutes left before work.
Usually, morning was the most boring time. Even those who arrived early just sat in their seats, or touched up their foundation in front of the mirror, or prepared lessons in front of the computer. The company was as quiet as a class near the college entrance examination. However, that day was special. As soon as Jane pushed open the door, she saw a group of people gather together. It seemed that something big had happened.
Someone was facing the door and saw Jane. He couldn't help saying, "Hey, here you are."
Jane was puzzled, especially when everyone looked at her. She reacted slowly and said, "What's the matter?"
Evelyn Davis said, "Don't you know that? Something happened to Jason."
A trace of surprise flashed through Jane's eyes, and then she said calmly, "I don't know. What's wrong with him?"
"It's said on the Internet that he was on the tiles in the nightclub. He behaved crazily after getting drunk and even took off his clothes. Only his underwear was left. His wife went to pick him up in person."
"What a shame. In the photos, his face was not pixelated. There are more than a hundred people in the whole company."
"It's okay for him to lose face outside, but I heard that his wife is fierce. Perhaps she would teach him a lesson after going home."
Everyone gossiped about it and mocked Jason gloatingly. Jane asked, "When did it happen?"
Someone said, "The night before yesterday."
The night before yesterday? That was when she met Jason in Redmoon Club. He was beaten by Edward. How could he... Did it happen after she left?
Jason was seriously injured at that time. Even if he wanted to be on the tiles, he was too weak to do so. Someone must arrange it on purpose.
Jane soon realized what had happened. She couldn't tell how she was feeling. Seeing that she was silent, Evelyn said, "Isn't Jason your client?"
Jane replied calmly, "I met him, but I didn't make a deal."
Evelyn suddenly laughed, "You've been working in Forward Education for a month. It seems that you haven't reached a deal yet."
Jane didn't say a word. Others had different expressions on their faces. Evelyn quickly said, "Oh, I don't mean anything else. I just don't understand whether you're looking for a client or a boyfriend. Why are you so picky? You want to work for none of them."
She deliberately teased Jane and wanted to make things difficult for her. Facing this sudden attack, Jane was not surprised. She worked here by the back door, which not only provoked Miss Moore, but also made her colleagues jealous.
Before Jane could reply, she suddenly heard a familiar male voice behind her, "She will never lack a boyfriend. A lot of men are waiting to chase after her."
Jane turned to have a look. Sure enough, she saw Aaron's extraordinarily handsome face.
Evelyn looked at Aaron and said with a faint smile, "Here comes our handsome workmate, Aaron."
Aaron looked at his wristwatch and replied with a fake smile, "It's time for work. Just call me Mr. Hunter, or others will mistakenly think you're harassing me."
Evelyn raised her eyebrows, "It seems that you have some misunderstanding about harassment."
Aaron said, "We honest people are like this. I don't know why someone always wants to harass others all day."
He made a pun on this, mainly alluding to the fact that Evelyn always made things difficult for Jane. How could Evelyn not understand? Her face immediately changed. She took a deep breath and wanted to refute. At this time, she saw Sofia Moore coming in, so she restrained herself and turned back to her seat.
The others went back to their seats. Jane and Aaron turned their heads and greeted Sofia, "Good morning, Miss Moore."
Sofia didn't even look at them. She looked at her front and didn't say hello to them, walking straight to her office.
Aaron was a D-level private teacher and Jane was of B-level. They were not in the same work area. Before leaving, Jane handed him the breakfast and milk. As soon as she returned to her seat, Aaron sent her a message.
"Evelyn embarrassed you again. Why didn't you just talk back?"
Jane replied, "I don't have to take a ridiculous woman seriously. Just let her do what she wants. Anyway, she can't piss me off."
Aaron said, "These people don't know that you have passed the interview in the Smith family. Now I suddenly want to let them get a slap in the face. Local people in S City are very afraid of Edward, aren't they?" He attached a casual emoji to this message.
Jane typed, "Although I have passed the interview, there will be a probation. I don't want to count my chickens before they are hatched. I have to be well-prepared."
Aaron replied, "A probation is enough to shock them... Where did you buy the sandwich?"
"There are lots of people in the shop where you always go, so I bought the sandwich in the shop next to it. What's wrong?"
"Did you buy it in the shop next to it or on the roadside? Who would put chillies in a sandwich?"
Jane was amused, "Don't be so angry early in the morning. Drink milk and calm down. The milk is normal."
After chatting for a while, they were busy with their own work. Jane was preparing for the lessons that day, and an hour passed in a blink of an eye. A colleague came to her and said, "Miss Moore wants to see you."
Jane got up and walked to the office. Her colleagues didn't pay attention to this on the surface. In fact, they were all whispering to each other. According to the rules in the company, if ten clients were dissatisfied with Jane, she would be fired. At that time, even Mr. Lee couldn't keep her.
Standing at the door of the office, Jane knocked on the door several times. A woman's voice sounded, "Come in."
Jane pushed the door open and said with a normal expression, "Miss Moore, I'm here."
There were many folders on the desk in front of Sofia. She seemed to be very busy and didn't raise her head, "Wait a minute."
She didn't let Jane sit down, and Jane stood in front of her desk. She asked Jane to wait a minute, but more than ten minutes had passed and she didn't say a word. Jane knew that she was made to stand as a punishment.
Raising her wrist, Jane looked at the time. Sofia said, "Are you in a hurry?"
"No." Jane said.
Sofia's voice was neither cold nor warm, "That's right. You haven't reached a deal yet this month, and you don't have to meet clients."
After that, she raised her head and stared at Jane without expression on her delicate face, "That's your ninth client. Charles told me to take good care of you before going on a business trip. I introduced you to top-level clients. Do you know how many people are jealous of you? But what have you done? You have failed nine times! How do you want me to help you? I can't pay the clients and beg them to hire you, can I?"
"Jane, in Forward Education, ability is the most important. Your performance not only disappoints me, but also embarrasses your senior in university." After a pause, Sofia seemed to have made a decision, "Maybe someone is laughing at you outside, and I don't want to embarrass you. I have friends who run educational institutions in S City. If you like, I'll introduce you to them."
As soon as she said this, someone knocked on the door of the office. Sofia said, "Come in." The receptionist pushed the door open and said, "Miss Moore, a client is here to sign a contract. He's waiting in the reception room."
Jane glanced at the expression on the female receptionist's face. She didn't know if she had thought too much. She always felt that the receptionist was suppressing her excitement. Why was she so excited? It was normal to sign a contract with a client.
