Chapter 88 When They Meet
"Are you okay?"
A low male voice came from above her head, Jane wished she could put her head in her chest and shook her head lightly, "Yeah."
Aiden took off his suit jacket and kept it around her. She felt warm in an instant, and during this period, his fingers didn't touch her at all.
He was just out of the politeness of a gentleman, "How about going to the restroom first?"
Jane was too ashamed to raise her head and say thank you. She caught a glimpse of Aiden walking away from her.
She didn't have to look back to know that he was far away. Jane went into the bathroom, covered by Aiden's coat. When she adjusted her underwear, she was completely numb and forgot to be angry at Andy. There was only one thought in her head, why she would meet Aiden at such a time.
It's not her fault. She knew it, and so did Aiden, but Jane just can't let it go. She felt a sense of shame that she had lost her fame all her life.
Putting Aiden's coat on her arm, Jane went out of the restroom and walked back. It was close to the official start of the wedding banquet. The banquet hall was full of guests. Although there were only a dozen or so tables, there were more than a hundred people. She couldn't find where Aiden was for a while, so she could only take the clothes and go to her seat first.
Seeing her coming back, Jennifer asked, "Where did you go? It's been a while."
Jane was a little distracted, too lazy to make up reasons, and said casually, "Nothing."
Jennifer saw the suit jacket on the back of the chair and asked suspiciously, "Whose clothes?"
Jane said softly, "Aiden's."
At this moment, the host happened to go to the stage. As soon as the microphone was connected, there was inevitably a noise from the stereo. Jennifer approached and frowned. "Who?"
Jane didn't answer but asked, "Have you seen Aiden?"
Jennifer raised her eyebrows, "You've seen Aiden?"
Jane said nothing and turned her head to other tables. It was obvious that she was looking for someone.
Lowering her voice, Jennifer said, "I didn't see Aiden. I just saw Edward coming."
Jane didn't feel surprised, but she found Edward's figure in the crowd. To be precise, it was his back.
Edward was wearing a burgundy coat today and had his back right to Jane. His hair was very short, nearly a buzz cut, so he was very conspicuous in the crowd.
Jennifer was very interested and kept asking Jane, "Whose coat is it? Aiden's? Why is his coat here with you?"
Jane said briefly, "My bra fell down and I almost exposed. I happened to meet him coming out of the elevator."
Jennifer's eyes lit up. "Did he see anything?"
Jane glanced at her. Jennifer immediately changed her expression, and said excitedly, "You didn't expect that you would meet your idol here, right? He even gave his clothes to you. So sweet! It would be a great pity if this encounter doesn't make a good story!"
Jane looked very calm, "Stop your imagination."
Jennifer didn't care and imagined a big play of 'genius idol fell in love with me'.
The host stood on the stage to heighten the atmosphere, telling the love story between Cornel and Susan, "Next, let's give applause to today's main character, the beautiful bride Susan."
The door of the banquet hall opened, the interior lights were dimmed, and the spotlights fell on the person who came in slowly through the door. Susan dressed in the white wedding dress entered while the music was played, with a smile on her face and tears in her eyes.

Not counting the wedding banquet she had with her aunt when she was a child, this was Jane's first time attending the wedding of the people around her. She thought she had no vision of or didn't look forward to love, but Susan's wedding dress was really beautiful. Standing at the other end of the long platform, Cornel kept taking off his glasses and reaching out to wipe his tears, as if he was also in love.
For a moment, Jane would fantasize that the person wearing the wedding dress was herself, but it was only for a few seconds. She was extremely pessimistic about love. She thought maybe others would meet true love, but she would not.
Confessions on stage, hugs, and vows, which have nothing to do with age, at least Susan didn't care.
The host held the microphone and said in a cheerful voice, "As the saying goes, roses are given, fragrance in hand. Whoever is lucky enough to get this lucky bouquet in the hands of the bride is most likely to become the next bridegroom or bride. The single ladies and gentlemen present, please do not suppress your impulses, and hurry up to the stage to strive for your own luck..."
Susan had arranged beforehand the bouquet session. Her unmarried friends and relatives all had to join in the fun, after all, guests of Cornel had unusual identities. Except for a few best men, the rest were either rich or respectable, and she couldn't expect these people to take the initiative to join in the fun.
After experiencing that kind of thing just now, Jane was not in good spirits, but she had promised Susan long ago, and there was no need to be a downer on a special day like today. She followed Jennifer and Aaron to stand up, and went to the stage from the side, raising her skirts.
As Susan expected, except for the people she had chosen, no one else came to the stage voluntarily. There were only a few people on the stage. The bridesmaids were naturally conspicuous. Needless to say, Jane looked gorgeous.
Edward turned his head to look at the stage and saw that Jane was standing at the back, with a little smile on her face. He was familiar with her smile, which meant she was showing courtesy but she really didn't want it.
In front of the stage, the bride was about to throw the bouquet, and someone from the audience shouted, "Jane."
Hearing the sound, Jane turned her head and saw a dense crowd.
"Jane, here."
After two times, Jane accurately judged the position. She saw Ken in the crowd, who smiled and waved to her. She was calm until she suddenly found that Ken was sitting next to Aiden who was also looking at her, in a black shirt.
Their eyes met, and Jane was suddenly at a loss. Even her expression becoming unnatural, she didn't know whether to nod or what to do.
The host in front counted down, "Three, two, one!"
Susan turned her back to them and threw the bouquet with all her might, so the people in the front row had no advantage. Jane stood motionless in the back row, and when she saw the bouquet was about to hit her, her first reaction was not to accept it, but to hide back. Luckily, Aaron was agile and quickly stepped forward, 'blocking' the luck for her.
Aaron was left on stage to speak, and the rest of the people stepped down. With her heart beating like a drum, Jane began to reflect on why she was like a fool on the stage just now.
The host on the stage asked, "This handsome gentleman who got the bouquet, I just saw that you were very active. Did you grab it for your girlfriend?"
Aaron took the microphone and said calmly, "She is not my girlfriend now, but she will be soon."
"So confident? Is your girlfriend at the scene?"
"She's not here. She's too busy with work, and I'm going to bring it back to her."
"Okay, I wish you finally get married. Don't forget to invite me to be the host when you get married in the future..."
It's lively on the stage, while under the stage, Jennifer approached Jane and said excitedly, "Hey hey hey, I saw Aiden just now. He's looking at you too! How can he get more handsome every year? He looks more handsome in real life than in the photo. OMG, not to mention you, I can't resist his charm too..."
