Chapter 87 An Awkward Encounter
Jane raised her skirts out of the banquet hall and walked towards the dressing room. As soon as she turned the corridor, she saw Andy standing not far away. He was alone, and it didn't seem like he had something to do but was waiting for someone.
She didn't say hello to him, so she didn't look away and walked forward. Andy turned his head when he heard the sound, and said, "Jane."
Jane had been good at pretending not to notice him. Hearing this, she raised her head and smiled, "Ah, it's you."
After saying hello, Andy saw she wanted to leave, and said, "Are you going to find Susan?"
Jane answered, "She wanted to see me."
Andy said, "It's not her. It's I who wanted to see you."
Jane stood there, looking at him. As the smile on her face faded, she felt angry.
Andy took out a thin woolen shawl from the Chanel bag he was carrying and handed it to Jane, "I'm afraid you are cold, so I went to the mall just now. Put it on quickly."
Jane didn't take it, and said, "Thank you. I really don't need it."
Andy said, "Why do you always reject my kindness?"
Jane said, "Thank you."
Andy said, "What are you so stubborn? I'm worried."
Unpreparedly, Jane didn't expect him to say such embarrassing words and was startled on the spot. Take a closer look and one would find she got goosebumps on her arms when hearing this. Trying not to be surprised, with her lips open slightly, she took a deep breath and said, "Thank you very much. It's quite warm inside, but it's still a little cold outside, I'll go back first if you don't mind."
Jane turned around and wanted to go, Andy grabbed her arm, "Jane..."
Jane turned to look at his hand, and calmly asked, "Can you let go?"
Andy let go of her hand, looked at her, and said, "I know this is the first time we met, but no one can control his or her feeling. Jane, I like you."
With a poker face, as usual, Jane replied coldly, " Sorry, I don't like you."
Andy said, "Although you don't like me now, it doesn't mean you won't like me in the future. If you are with me, I will do my best to be nice to you. I didn't try to show off my wealth, but what I can give to you must be more than you think. Think about it."
Jane was silent for two seconds, then said, "I thought about it carefully, and I don't think we are right for each other. Thank you."
After speaking, she turned around and left without waiting for Andy's response. Andy had expected that someone like her would not be easy to chase, so he patiently pretended to be infatuated for a while. He thought to himself that since it didn't work, then don't blame him for playing dirty.
Seeing that she had walked one meter away, he pretended to be anxious, called her name while catching up, and then stepped on the hem of her full-length gown.
He did it on purpose, and he didn't plan to move his feet when he stepped on it. Jane also didn't expect it. She was stepping forward and suddenly felt a chill in her chest. She responded quickly, and immediately covered her breast with one hand and grabbed her dress with the other. She tried to hitch it up and keep it from falling down at the same time.
Jane turned her head to look at Andy. At this moment, with a cold and piercing gaze, she said seriously, "Get your feet away."
Andy didn't see the expected scream and panic of the beauty. He pretended to just find out what happened, moved his feet away, and stepped forward, "I'm sorry, are you all right?"
Jane quickly turned around and faced the wall. By the time Andy was standing on the side, she had already hitched her gown, but the invisible underwear had fallen off, she couldn't let go of her hand and walked back normally.
Andy felt very disappointed to see nothing, but he had to pretend to be regretful and nervous, so he repeatedly said, "It's my fault. I'm too anxious. Are you all right?"
Jane didn't even look at him, and said, expressionless, "Please turn around."
She said it so bluntly that she almost directly asked him to go away, but Andy pretend not to understand her meaning, "Don't be angry. I apologize to you, it's all my fault."
Jane faced the wall with her arms over her chest, motionless and silent.
Andy guessed that it must be inconvenient for her to turn around, so it was the best time to take advantage of her. He raised his hand and put it on Jane's smooth shoulder, "Jane..."
Jane got crazy, immediately shrugged, and waved his hand away. She took a step back sideways, and said angrily, "What are you doing?"
He was so bold that he was not afraid that someone would pass by in the corridor. He didn't realize this was a public place.
Jane was so excited that her face turned red with anger. Andy was suddenly fascinated by this kind of pleasure caused by 'bullying' her, especially at other people's weddings. He felt exciting, even just thinking about it.
Opening the shawl in his hand, as he approached Jane, Andy pretended to be sincere and said, "Come on, put it on. I'll take you to the lounge."
He was like a pervert in public. How could Jane let him approach? If it wasn't for Susan's wedding, she really wanted to shout for help, but now she could only grit her teeth and avoided him.
At the end of the corridor was the bride's lounge. Jane almost trotted. In the chaos, she didn't see the light of the elevator beside her was on, and a person stepped out from inside. She couldn't stop in time and bumped against him.
He was agile and raised his hand to hold her. Jane only saw the black suit, then slowly raised her head, holding her dress. Her brain was suddenly buzzing. For a few seconds, she was even deaf.
Although she felt deaf, her heart was thumping... The sound of her own heartbeat was clearly amplified in her ears. When she came into adult life, she would rarely encounter people and things making her feel helpless, but today, she encountered both.
Andy, who was catching up, tried to reach out to touch Jane. She was so angry that she couldn't help but scolded sharply, "Get out of my face!"
With a third person present, Andy didn't want to lose face, so he said with a long face, "Who are you referring to?"
Jane's neck turned red, and she said, lowering her head, "Stay away from me, or I'll call for help."
Andy was so angry that he laughed and reached out to pull her, but was stopped by another hand.
Andy raised his head slightly and looked at the tall man beside Jane. He looked familiar, but Andy was too lazy to think about where he had seen the man before. He asked unhappily, "What are you doing?"
The man in a black suit said in a low voice, without any emotions, "I should ask you this, what are you doing?"
Andy said flippantly, "Who are you? Mind your own business."
"Aiden Cater. This gentleman, if you don't leave, I will choose to call the hotel security or call the police directly."
Jane would see Aiden on the podium once a year when she was in college. He was great, and she was not bad. This was the first time she had met him outside the university's hall. She didn't expect that she would be so embarrassed that she could barely raise her head.
Andy had heard the name of Aiden. The last time was even last night when his father went to a banquet and came home late. His mother asked who to eat with and he said Aiden.
Nodding his head, Andy spread his hands and took a step back, showing that he didn't want to cross him. He threw the shawl worth more than 10,000 dollars at the corner of the wall and turned away with a long face.
