Chapter 84: Susan's Awful Ex-boyfriend
Jane didn't see Edward on Friday and Saturday. It was said that he had gone to another city. Justin had been used to it, and Jane was not surprised.
After finishing the last two classes on Saturday afternoon, Jane took a taxi to the airport. As soon as she entered the airport lounge, she saw Jennifer sitting side by side with Aaron. She walked over from behind softly, trying to startle them. At this time, Jennifer said angrily, "D*mn it! Susan did the right thing! He doesn't deserve to be with her! Why didn't I know he's such a jerk when we studied in university?"
Jane asked, "Who are you talking about?"
Jennifer was startled. She turned her head quickly and said in horror, "When did you come here?"
Jane went round to the front and sat down, "Just now. Who did Susan break up with?"
Jennifer crossed her arms, pointed at Aaron, and said, "Aaron is in a group chat. Deacon, a student who studied in the Athletic Department, is in the group chat as well. I don't know whether he drank too much or he was out of his head. He spoke ill of Susan in the group chat."
Jane asked, "What did he say?"
Jennifer said, "He said that Susan was a gold-digger. She hooked up with an old man in his fifties and broke up with him."
Jane's expression didn't change as she said, "Susan's family is rich. If she's a gold-digger, she wouldn't have been with Deacon."
"Yes, they have broken up, but Deacon slanders her behind her back. What an annoying man! He said that Susan is with a senior official of the Ministry of Education. He even said his name. Do you remember Susan said her husband's last name was Anderson?"
Jane said, "Yeah, his name is Cornel Anderson, right?"
Jennifer nodded, "I searched on the Internet just now. The deputy leader of the Ministry of Education is him. He's fifty-two years old this year."
Jane didn't say yes or no. Aaron held his phone and sent a voice message in the group chat, "Deacon, just forget it. You were in a relationship before. You don't have to speak ill of her before she gets married."
After he finished speaking, Jennifer turned to ask, "What's the matter?"
Aaron said with a straight face, "Deacon is insane."
Jennifer snatched his phone to see the chat history. It turned out that Deacon shared what had happened between him and Susan in the group chat. He even mentioned how many times had sex a night. In his opinion, Susan was a b*tch, and she didn't deserve to marry a senior official.
He sent a lot of harsh and obscene words. After Aaron sent the voice message, Deacon replied to him. Jennifer clicked it and heard his casual voice. "Don't persuade me. She is a b*tch. The most beautiful girl in the university was not her. I couldn't win Jane's heart. Otherwise, how could I be with her? She could have sex with me for free, so I agreed."
After he mentioned Jane, some anonymous people said, "Jane and Susan are close to each other, aren't they?"
"Where is Jane now?"
"Jane is really pretty. I often masturbated by thinking about her."
"Me too."
"Let's do it together."
They started to tell dirty jokes about Jane. Looking at the obscene words on the screen, Jennifer immediately pressed the speaking button and said in a deep voice, "Deacon, what's wrong with you? You son of a b*tch! Hey, you anonymous guys are all silly! Although you have no girlfriend, you can never be with Jane! Watch your mouth and shut up!"
After Jennifer scolded them, there was a moment of silence. Then Deacon asked, "Who are you?"
Jennifer said, "It's none of your business, you motherf*cker."
Those anonymous guys sent messages one after another, asking if she was Jane, and they'd like to have a video chat with her because they all missed her.
Jennifer was surprised by how shameless they were. Since they knew Jane, it meant they used to study at the same university. Were these scums actually educated?
She was hot-tempered, and she couldn't stand them at all. She immediately walked to the bathroom with the phone while cursing them.
Jane knew how irritated she was, so she was not surprised and just sat there. Aaron sat still calmly, too. There was a seat between them. A few seconds later, he said, "If Deacon is the only man left in this world, I'd rather be straight."
Jane said calmly, "If he's the only man left in this world, I'd rather be lesbian."
After a while, Aaron said, "Susan is twenty-five years old, and her husband is fifty-two years old. He's the same age as her father. How awkward it is! Should he call him father too?"
Jane said solemnly, "This is a simple question. You're not stupid, are you? The powerful one should be respected."
Aaron couldn't help smiling and joked, "As long as a man is powerful, he can marry a girl who's much younger than him."
Jane said, "As long as Susan likes him. We have no right to judge her choice."
Aaron said, "I remember when Susan and Deacon were together, he played football on the court and she praised him in the broadcast because she studied in the Broadcasting Department... I know that not all the lovers can get married, but Deacon doesn't have to slander her, right?"
Jane looked indifferent, "So don't be in a relationship. Friendship is also nice, isn't it? What's the point of wasting time on an impossible thing?"
Aaron said, "Your opinion is extreme. Love is impulse and instinct. As humans, we can't restrain our desire."
Jane said, "What about God? He has no desire but he can guide us."
Aaron said, "Anyway, I don't want to restrain my desire. I can't let go of my feelings for Charles."
Jane smiled but said nothing. Aaron turned to look at her, "You've been single for so many years. It's not because you can restrain yourself, but because you haven't met the man who can touch your heart. Think about it. If one day you meet Aiden by accident... Tut-tut."
Jane said with a normal face, "As I said, I only admire him. It's not love."
Aaron said with a faint smile, "You'll regret what you said one day."
They chatted casually, and time went by quickly. In the twinkling of an eye, it was time to board the plane. Jane called Jennifer, and she came back soon. She handed Aaron's phone to him, "I've withdrawn from the group chat."
Aaron asked, "Did you withdraw from it or they kick you out?"
Jennifer was still mad. She raised her eyebrows and said, "I asked him where he was. He said he was in Y City. I said I was going to Y City and asked him to make an appointment with me. He was too cowardly, and he kicked me out of the group chat."
Then, she blamed Aaron in anger, "Why did you join such a group chat? Those people are awful."
Aaron said, "I don't know when someone invited me to join it. No one chatted in the group chat before."
Jane said, "Alright, take a deep breath and compose your emotions. We're going to attend a wedding, not to fight with someone."
Jennifer took a deep breath and said, "How unlucky Susan is! Her ex-boyfriend is terrible."
Jane said, "Don't mention this in front of her. We can't trouble her with this."
Of course, they wouldn't mention it. After flying for more than an hour, they arrived in Y City. Susan came to pick them up in person. They were good friends in university, so they were still close to each other when they met again.
When they got in the car, Susan received a phone call. Someone said a few words on the phone, and she said calmly, "Knock off his teeth first and then send him to the police station. Don't show him any mercy."
