Chapter 78 A Be

Chapter 78 A Bet
According to Jane's observation of him for many days, Edward was not a person who liked to get up early. Moreover, his clothes were clearly the ones he wore when he met her last night. He just came back after being out all night.
Now that he was standing so close, he definitely heard what she just said. Jane wanted to explain. But looking at the calm Edward, she didn't know how to explain.
Justin said first, "I'm waiting for the genius to express her impressions of after playing."
Edward looked at Jane and asked, "What do you think of it?"
Jane nodded quickly, "It's very interesting."
Justin said, "Can you say something meaningful?"
Edward also said, "This game is still in the private beta stage. So if you have any ideas about it, just tell me."
Jane said, "I'm a layman in the game industry. I only understand that this game was fun to play. That's all. But I do have friends who are experts in gaming. If you don't mind, I can take the game back and give it to him palying. And I'll ask her what he thinks."
Edward said, "Well, take it back."
Jane didn't understand the meaning behind his simple sentence.
Looking at Edward, Justin asked admiringly, "Uncle Edward, you beat her at Sudoku?"
Edward said indifferently, "What's wrong?"
Justin said, "Bravo! You have given vent to my anger."
Jane was about to ask how she made him angry.
Edward said impassively, "I won, not you. You should work hard by yourself instead of expecting others to avenge you, which is no good."
Justin pouted. He muttered something, but Jane couldn't hear it clearly. Edward said, "You are already twelve years old this year, not a little boy any more. Even if our family is relatively rich, you still have to work hard. Otherwise, when you grow up, the richer you become, the more people will look down upon you, thinking that you are just a apple of Sodom. "
As Jane listened, she wondered in her mind whether he said this to her on purpose or she was just too sensitive?
Although Justin was usually stubborn, he prioritized what Edward said. So, he stil promised him.
Edward said, "You should start class quickly. Don't wake me up at noon."
After speaking, he turned to leave.
Afraid that Justin was in a bad mood, Jane put the food box in front of him and asked, "Do you still want to eat?"
Justin, who was pissed off and wanted to say no, thought he didn't need to give his stomach a hard time. So, he took the whole box and complained, "Uncle Edward is now on your side."
Jane denied, "He's not on my side. He just agrees with the truth."
Justin gagged his mouth with pan-fried pork buns and didn't speak.
Jane said, "You should learn more from your Uncle Edward, because he is right. Even if you have money, you still have to be capable of something. Otherwise, other people will only respect your money instead of yourself and then you will be nothing if you lose your money. "
Justin said aggrievedly, "I haven't been good enough lately?"
Jane immediately replied with a smile, "I admit you've been pretty good lately. So today we'll take a test in class."
After speaking, she took out the printed test paper from her bag.
Justin looked at it and frowned, "I don't like exams. I know everything you taught. Why do I have to use my scores to prove something?"
Jane said, "You don't like going to school or taking exams because you don't want to use your grades to prove you to be good or bad, and you don't want to use your grades to please anyone. But there is a very realistic thing. I came your home to teach you. Your score will directly prove the necessity of my existence. So, would you like to take a moment to prove that I'm still useful? "
Justin always thought that Jane was too good at talking. Otherwise, how could she make all the things he thought must be right wrong in just a few words?
Thinking about this, he took a big mouthful of soy milk with a sour face. He suddenly didn't want to learn mathematics from her, but wanted to learn the philosophy of life from her.

After eating, Justin sat down in the chair beside Jane. He dragged his tone and said, "It's possible for me to take the test."
Jane didn't answer and waited for the second half of his sentence. Sure enough, in a few seconds, he said again, "I have the conditions."
Jane calmly said, "Go ahead."
Justin picked up the paper and flipped through it casually. He said, "If I take the test above 90, you need promise me one thing."
Jane said, "Above 100."
Justin said, "Different scores correspond to different requirements. Would you dare to bet?"
"It can't break the law and it can't affect the city's appearance and stability and unity," Jane said.
Justin said, "I don't want you to teach me in juvie yet."
Jane said, "Deal. You can write down the things you want me to do when your scores reach 90 or 100 now. And when you finish the test, we will redeem the prize honestly."
Justin couldn't help but sighed in his heart that she was really cunning.
They immediately hit it off. After writing his wishes on a piece of paper, Justin pressed it under the table and began testing. Jane sat quietly beside him, preparing for him what he was going to learn and what to do in the next class. The sun shone into the room from the huge glass windows, which made the atmosphere quiet and peace.
Justin did it very quickly. In less than an hour, he finished the testing that would have taken others an hour and a half. After finishing, he also checked it carefully. Looking at him out of the corner of the eye, Jane secretly thought that he really wanted to win.
"It's done." Justin put down his pen dashingly.
Jane asked, "Are you sure you will hand in the papers now?"
Justin said, "A confident life doesn't require much hesitation."
Jane picked up the red pen and nodded, "I personally appreciate your attitude."
Although he finished the testing quickly, she marked the paper faster. She occasionally wrote something on the test paper with her red pen. Justin squinted at the paper, calculating the scores quickly in his mind.
For the paper with a total score of 120, Jane used a red pen to write down his score of 99 on the top of the test paper.
Justin frowned and took the paper over to read it for himself. After a while, he said, "The answer to this question is C. I just read it wrong."
Jane pulled the paper back calmly and said, "The answer is C. But you've run out of chances."
Justin wanted to explain. After Jane gave him a candid look, he silently retracted his defense. He knew that excuses didn't work with her.
"You can read it yourself. Re-do the questions you can do first. We'll discuss those that you can't."
Jane rarely used the words 'I teach you'. She usually used discussion. For no other reason, she just always believed that children had their own way of thinking even if they got it wrong. And adults should never contain children's minds and make them feel that there was only one solution.
It took Jane more than half an hour to explain all the questions that Justin got wrong. Many problems had more than one solution. She patiently explained every solution, and Justin was more patient than ever. For questions that he didn't know, he would ask her directly.
"Okay, let's draw the lottery now."
Ending with testing time, Jane took the initiative to liven up the atmosphere.
Justin took out the note and handed it to her. Jane found that his reward of more than 90 points was for her to bring him a delicious food every day, which could not be repeated for a week. And his reward of more than 100 points was to ask her to wake Edward up one day.
These requirements were rewards for him, but naked punishments for her!
Jane said horrified, "Are you kidding me about waking up your Uncle Edward?"
Justin said, "What's the matter? Does this request not meet our agreement?"
"It could only kill me," Jane said.
Justin said, "110 points. If I get more than 110 points, would you dare to bet?"
Glancing at him sideways, Jane smiled and said, "Seriously?"
"Dare you?"
"Of course. I would not be your teacher if I dare not."
