Chapter 79 Marriage and Apology
After eating with Justin at noon, Jane drove back to the city. On the way her cell phone rang. She took it out and found it was a call from Susan.
After Jane connected, she smiled and said, "Susy."
The same enthusiastic female voice came from the phone, "Jane, are you busy?"
"No, the class is over. It's lunch break."
Susan asked, "How are you doing in S City? Is everything going well?"
Jane said, "I'm fine with Aaron and Jennifer by my side. How about you? How's going?"
Susan said, "I'm fine too. Moreover, I'm getting married. So I want to tell you the good news quickly."
Jane said in surprise, "You're getting married? When? With whom?"
Susan laughed, "I knew you would ask this question. I'm getting married this weekend in Y City. You probably don't know my husband. His name is Cornel Anderson."
Jane really didn't know him. She asked in confusion, "Is he from our school?"
Susan said, "No. He's much older than us. He's already an uncle for us."
Jane said, "If he is your Mr. Right, Age doesn't matter at all. Ohh, it just happened so fast... You told me that you were married on the phone. That's unbelievable."
Susan said, "I know you're all busy, especially Jennife. She is the boss of her own company. I'm afraid she won't have time to come. So, are you free to come to my wedding?"
Jane said, "Your wedding is on Sunday, right? I'll be there on Saturday night."
Susan smiled, "Thank you. Then we'll talk when you come. I need to call Aaron and Jennifer now."
The two of them chatted for a while and hung up the phone. About five or six minutes later, Jennifer called. Jane connected and said, "Have you gotten the phone call from Susy?"
Jennifer said, "I didn't expect that soon after we graduated, I have to give red envelopes to others."
Jane complained, "Are you serious? Money? Is that the point?"
Jennifer said, "I didn't mean that. It's just come as a bit of a shock. She's only twenty-five!"
Jane said, " That's the power of true love."
Jennifer said, "I asked her what her husband did. She said that he worked in the education system and was an official. So their wedding can't be too grand. And she could only invite twenty relatives to participate. "
Jane asked, "Are you free?"
Jennifer said, "She said you would arrive on Saturday. Then I will definitely attend. I'll ask people to keep an eye on the company. We'll go on Saturday and come back on Sunday."
Jane responded, "Susy is verynicel. Since she told us the good news, we must go to her wedding."
Jennifer asked, "How about Aaron? Is he going?"
Jane said, "He has classes on Saturdays and Sundays. He probably has to drop all the classes before leaving. I'll be at the company soon and I'll ask him later. "
The car was parked downstairs at Forward Education. When Jane came upstairs, Aaron called her. After connecting, she said, "I'll go upstairs in three minutes. Let's have a talk then."
When she met Aaron, he said at first, "Didn't Susan fall in love with Deacon? When she said on the phone that she was getting married, I almost said I wish her a happy wedding to Deacon. Fortunately, I asked her about her groom. She told me his last name was Anderson."
Jane asked suspiciously, "Who is Deacon?"
Aaron said, "Are you kidding me? Deacon Austin? The man in the sports department who is good at long-distance running. You forgot about him? He even shaved his head before."
Jane remembered a little. She asked, "How long ago was that?"
Aaron said, "A month before we graduate. Didn't they get back together?"
Jane shook her head without blinking. She said, "Why do I know nothing about it?"
Aaron sighed, "The most beautiful girl of the broadcasting department got married so soon. But she didn't marry the most handsome boy of the sports department."
Jane complained, "Don't be sentimental. I wonder if you have any special feelings for that Deacon."
Aaron gave her a sideways glance and said, "God can testify for me that I only love you-know-who."
Hearing this, Jane suddenly became distracted and thought that Edward must have heard what she joked with Justin at the Smith family this morning.
Thinking of Edward, Jane took out a cell phone from her bag and handed it to Aaron.
Aaron raised his eyebrows and asked, "What's a good day today? Why did you give me a present?"
Jane didn't even bother to roll her eyes at him. She said calmly, "There's a new game in the phone. You can play it when you have time and tell me how you feel about this game and its shortcomings."
Aaron was good at playing games. After turning on the phone and looking at it, he looked up and asked, "Who gave it to you?"
Jane replied truthfully, "This is a new game developed by Edward's game company."
Aaron said: "He directly allows you to bring out the game that is still in the private beta stage?"
Jane said, "I told him that I had a friend who was an expert of the game and he can help him make a user experience."
Aaron said solemnly, "Do you know how much he would lose if such a game was leaked early?"
Jane asked naively, "Why should I leak it? I dare not. Do you dare?"
Aaron said nothing but stared at her. It took a few seconds for Jane to understand what he meant. She certainly believed in her own character and Aaron's. But why did Edward believe her?
After taking a sip of juice, Jane said, "Time reveals my heart. I think it was my reliability that moved him."
Aaron gave her a meaningful smile to make her experience it for herself.
Jane coughed. Not wanting to continue arguing with him about this topic, she took the initiative to say, "Are you going to Susy's wedding?"
Aaron turned on his phone and said while playing the game, "You and Jennifer are both participating. If I don't go, I'm afraid she will hold a grudge against me."
Jane said, "I just checked the time. We take a flight at 8 o'clock on Saturday night and come back on Sunday afternoon. "
"Well, it's up to you."
The two of them chatted in the pantry. At this time, someone approached and said, "Miss Cooper, a client is looking for you."
Jane put down her cup and walked out. She was still wondering who was looking for her. The next second, she saw James.
James greeted with a warm smile, "Miss Cooper."
Jane smiled politely, "Mr. Wright."
James said, "I'm here to sign the contract for Eloise. Her parents don't have time. Are you comfortable now?"
Jane glanced in the direction of the office. Through the transparent glass door, she saw that there was no one inside. She said, "The boss in charge of signing the contract has not returned yet, so I will take you to the reception room now."
James and Jane went into a separate room. The staff prepared drinks and snacks for them. Jane said, "I'll go ask Miss Moore when she'll be back."
Seeing that she was leaving, James hurriedly said, "Don't worry. I just want to chat with you."
Jane stopped. Looking at her, James smiled apologetically, "I'm so sorry for what happened last time. I'm here to apologize to you."
Jane said with a calm face, "It was over."
James said, "After you left last time, Ken lost his temper with me in private. I admit that it was my fault to act first and report afterwards. But I know you guys know each other. I really didn't want to hurt you or anything. I just wanted to give you all a surprise. "
He appeared aggrieved and helpless. But Jane was not touched at all. Why should she forgive him generously after all?
