Chapter 214 Just The Story, Not The Truth

Chapter 214 Just The Story, Not The Truth
On the third morning of the company's annual meeting list. All staff members received an email on their computers containing indecent photos of Jane Cooper playing with Edward Smith on the court. As you can imagine, there was a thunderclap.
Earlier, everyone was just guessing. After all, there was no evidence. But now there were pictures and the truth, see what Jane will say.
"I didn't expect her to look cold and aloof in her daily life, but she's acting so blatantly behind the scenes."
"An open-air playground, They really did not afraid of people passing by to see."
"I kind of get it, you can't judge a book by its cover."
"Shouldn't you have to be amorous in secret to get by?"
"Now I can't wait to see how this is going to end."
From Charles Lee down to the housekeeping aunt, all knew about the 'indecent photos'. And the first thing Charles did was to call Jane into his office and asked nervously, "What's going on?"
Of course, he didn't believe that Jane would mess around. But the photos were clearly taken.
Jane had already been questioned by Aaron Hunter. She was now as calm as a bell, explaining truthfully, "It's just a little thing, an accident."
Charles looked at her and was silent for a moment before saying, "Who did you offend when you were photographed in your neighborhood?"
Jane said, "I also want to know, I've kept a very low profile. I am afraid of getting into trouble, but there are still people who don't like me."
Charles frowned lightly and analyzed for her, "You said the ball game was a week ago. It wasn't revealed earlier or later, but just before your annual meeting...We can't rule out that it was someone from within the company."
After that, Charles added, "I heard that because you are going to the annual meeting, a lot of people are muttering in private. Do you have anyone you suspect?"
Jane said, "There's no evidence, I'm too lazy to think wildly."
Charles said, "No matter if the person who sent the photo is from within the company, anyway, the other party's meaning is obvious. He just doesn't want you to have a good time, what are you going to do?"
Jane said, "The person in the photo is me, but I can explain clearly. How did they see that I was being indecent?"
After a pause, Jane looked at Charles and said, "I know people's words can be fearful. If you can explain it clearly, it's not a misunderstanding. If it's not easy to handle on your side, I can miss the annual meeting, it's really okay."
Charles said, "Aiden Cater asked you to go, it's not like I'm being generous. The company's investigation is a must. If I say it's a misunderstanding, the people below will not believe me, and you have to go to Sofia's side."
Jane did not immediately answer. Charles reassured, "Charles diligently stated, "I won't intentionally bias you with that statement or another. You did not do wrong. Anyone who wants to put you in small shoes also has to pass me first. You do not have to have too many worries. Sometimes think of things a little simpler, as you said, you can explain them clearly. No is no, who can force you to admit it? "
Jane nodded and soon gave up the idea of not going to the annual meeting. For one thing, she hadn't done anything wrong. There was no reason to be pressed to admit her guilt. For another, the annual meeting was Aiden and Charles' intention. If she backed out at this time, it would also be a disguised way of making them lose face.
Quickly adjusting her mind, Jane said, "Don't worry, I'll go over to Sofia's side."
Charles reminded, "No matter what she says, you take it as it comes. Don't confront her. Be careful that she'll sue the head office in an email. Then it won't matter if it's true or not, what matters is how you treat your boss."

Jane answered and left Charles' office. She knocked directly into Sofia's office.
Sofia finally caught Jane in the act, resisting the urge to drop stones. She did not smile and said seriously, "Tell me, how do you plan to solve the matter of the photos?"
Jane, who was sitting in the chair and had an even more serious expression than Sofia, remarked quietly, "I do not know who is so boring, secretly took this kind of misleading photos, but also deliberately spread the whole company is. I took off a car with the client and played basketball together. I fell and he helped me. He was accidentally dragged down by me, as simple as that. I am right here, there is no need to see the picture to tell the story, right?"
Sofia smiled, a trace of mockery flashed under her eyes, "Do you think such an explanation can convince everyone?"
Jane said, "That depends on whether people want to know the truth or the story."
Sofia looked away, organizing the documents on the table. She paused for a moment before saying, "Jane, to be honest, I am not interested in your private life at all. But we are in the service company and the field of education. The private life of the staff is also part of the scope of the work assessment. Now the photos against you are spread everywhere. I have to give everyone a clear and reasonable explanation. You said you fall or carelessness. Maybe it's true, but that's a ridiculous reason to say. I can't even put it on record."
Jane's face did not change, "Then what does Miss Moore mean?"
Sofia said, "Since you insist that what was captured in the photos is a misunderstanding. Then you find evidence to prove it. There is no proof only by your words. I won't make it difficult for you, and you shouldn't make it difficult for me."
Jane said nothing and left Sofia's office. She grabbed her bag and left the company. If this matter is not resolved, not to mention the failure to go to the annual meeting, it will not be possible to work in the education circle of S City in the future. After all, everyone has already circulated the photos privately to various large groups. Now people in the education sector all have known it.
Jane took a taxi back to Rhine Garden. She went straight to the security office to check the surveillance of the previous day. The monitoring in the neighborhood, according to the security officer, was only kept for a maximum of seven days. Now there was nothing from the previous week.
Jane had thought about this result on the way back. If the surveillance video couldn't prove it, then only Edward could.
But how could she get Edward to go to the office to explain this? Why could he go through this mess, and why let him go over there and have someone interrogate him?
After thinking about it, Jane couldn't talk to Edward, not because she was afraid of rejection, but because she knew better.
She thought about finding the person who took the photos. But it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. She also thought that the person who passed them on might be from within the company. But she wasn't sure who it was.
The easiest and most straightforward way is to prove that the whole thing was an oops. But she couldn't get hold of Edward. So she just went to a dead end.
The phone rang when she was feeling a bit down. Jane took out her phone and looked at it. After a moment's hesitation, she picked up, "Hello, Mr. Smith."
Edward's voice came from the phone, "Where are you?"
Jane asked, "What do you want?"
Edward said, "I heard that my picture has been circulated in your company?"
Jane paused slightly, then answered yes.
Edward asked, "Has it affected you?"
At this point, Jane was not one to play dumb and said truthfully, "The company asked me to provide proof of my lack of personal indiscretion. I just asked the security guards in the district. The surveillance was only for a week, so there was no record."
Edward said, "I'm going to your company now."
