Chapter 231 He Won't even Let the Child off

Chapter 231 He Won't even Let the Child off
Jane stood outside the basketball court. Between her and the people inside was a tall, dense iron wire mesh. Thinking that she looked normal, she waved her hand to greet them, but Edward and Justin both could see that she was not in a good mood.
Edward studied her, but could not ask her directly, while Justin could do it more easily. He walked to the iron wire mesh with his basketball and looked at her through the iron mesh, asking, "What's happening to you?"
Jane answered, "I'm all right."
Justin looked suspicious, but did not say anything right now. On the basketball court, Edward walked to the bench, picked up a bottle of water, and looking at Jane, said, "Play a round?"
Jane said with a smile, "I won't play today. You guys play."
Edward was silent. He had obviously found that she was unusual, but he could not ask her. Fortunately, Justin had sharp eyes. Staring at her injured right hand, he asked, "How did you injure your hand?"
The blood-red cut on the back of her hand was so long that one could see it from the side, but she didn't take it seriously. She simply said, "Nothing. I got a scratch accidentally."
Justin asked with a frown, "You fought someone again?"
He asked as if this was his task. In his eyes, Jane seemed to go out to pick fights time and often. Hearing that, Jane said with a helpless smile, "Do I look so much like a troublemaker?"
Justin said, "I just want to know who you fought."
Also wanting to know it, Edward said directly, "Come in."
Since Edward had invited her, Jane had to walk along the mesh to the entrance and went in. It was brighter on the basketball court. Wearing the same expression, Edward and Justin stared at the back of her hand without blinking.
Edward asked, "Who did it?"
Seeing that she could no longer hide it, Jane had to answer honestly, "I went to the family home to give lessons this afternoon, but the little child of the family was naughty."
Before Edward could make a sound, Justin asked unhappily, "How old is the child?"
Jane answered, "Seven."
Justin frowned more deeply and remarked, "The seven-year-old child scratched you so hard. Was he out of his mind?"
Jane curled up his lips and said, "He's a spoiled child. He can do anything he wants at home."
Justin said, "Is he the younger brother of the girl who is about to attend the ACT?"
"Yes."
"Why did he scratch you?"
"He used his toy gun to shoot people and the dog, and I broke his gun."
"Didn't anyone in the house stop him?"
"The nanny had asked for leave, and his mother was away. Only the three of us were at home."
"Then why didn't you beat him up?" Justin asked angrily, quite disappointed.
Jane said with a smile, "I couldn't give a child a good beating, could I?"
Justin said unhappily, "You shouldn't have taken him as a child. Such a person deserves a beating. You should give him a good beating. When he becomes afraid of you, he won't dare to bully you anymore in the future."
Jane told her heart, "I actually have this wish, but I do not dare."
Edward wouldn't have believed that this was what a child had done. After all, the cut was long and deep, almost running across the back of her hand. If the child had not done it on purpose, the cut wouldn't be so serious. Edward had thought that this was her causally fabricated excuse, but after hearing her explanation, he realized that this was truly what a bad child had done.
"Why not dare? Where's your courage to fight a gang? But you can't deal with a child."
Looking at Jane, Edward said in a slightly offensive manner.
Jane, who could not tell whether he was ridiculing her, said directly, "The children today are so smart. I just broke his gun, trying to stop him from doing anything evil again, but he immediately reported me, saying that I beat him. If it had not been for the cut on me, I might not have left his home safely today."
Edward asked straight-faced, "What did his parents say?"
Speaking of this, Jane was inevitably helpless. "His parents prefer boys to girls. Even under such circumstances, they blamed their daughter for not being sensible. They said she should have taken care of her brother."
Justin said, "Does their family have a throne to succeed?"
Jane looked at him with a smile. "You've never thought about being a crown prince, so he is at most a young master."

Seeing that she laughed heartily and joyfully, Edward asked, "Have you been to the hospital for treatment?"
Jane answered, "Just a small cut. I'll go home and disinfect it."
Edward said, "He was like a mad dog. Who knows if you'll get rabies?"
Jane admired Edward sincerely. "His tongue is equally venomous no matter how old or young the person he wants to criticize is."
"I'm okay. I've got the rabies vaccine shot," she joked after hearing that.
The three of them chatted on the basketball court for a while. Then Jane said, "You guys keep playing. I've got to go."
Edward and Justin had no excuse to let her stay. After all, she could not play basketball with her wounded hand.
After Jane left, Edward asked nonchalantly, "Do you still want to play?"
Seeing at a glance that Edward no longer wanted to play, Justin also said nonchalantly, "This is enough."
The two of them went home and took showers in their own rooms. Edward called Jarman Gonzalez. Before Edward could ask him, Jarman said, "I'm still investigating. There're so many people. I think it'll take a few days."
In the afternoon, Edward told Audrey Ross to ask the three people collecting photos to come over. Yet, the three people had sent the photos to others in private. He had thought that there were only four people, but now a soccer team of people was involved. Since a lot of people got involved, it would take some time to investigate every one of them carefully. Even Jarman could not easily get the job done. After all, he could not do so many things at the same time.
Edward stood smoking in his bathrobe at the window. "Help me look for one more person. The client Jane visited on Saturday afternoon. Ask someone to tell him that if he didn't know how to raise his son, he shouldn't have given birth to him. If he really has no time to take care of his son, I can do it for him for a few days."
Jarman was confused at the moment. "Do you want me to visit the client or his son?"
Edward puffed out a cloud of smoke. "His son is only seven. Why do I have to ask you to visit him?" "Will I really need to take care of his child?" he muttered inwardly.
After hearing that, Jarman was even more confused, thinking, "How could a seven-year-old child have offended Edward?"
Seeing that he remained silent, Edward knew he must be thinking wildly. Thus, he frowned slightly and said, "You just tell him that. He'll know what he should do."
"Got it."
After hanging up, Jarman could not help but become curious about Jane. The current problem had not been solved yet, but a new one had surfaced, ready to be addressed. It was said that Justin and Henry had become very good students because of her, but Edward didn't have to worry about every one of her affairs, did he?
Edward sheltered his men, but he seemed to be a little overacting this time.
Edward held his phone at the window, ready to call Jane, but did not know what he should say to her. If he asked her how her cut was, he seemed to be trying to please her; if he talked about the matter of the photos with her, there was not yet a clear conclusion about it. After thinking for a long time, he still could not find a suitable topic. "Forget it, or she will think I want to do something," he thought.
He changed his clothes and came out of the master bedroom when a noise came from the kitchen. He went over and saw Justin doing something in it.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"Making a cake," Justin said.
Edward glanced at the two teacup puppies lying on the ground and said with sympathetic eyes, "Don't make their stomachs go wrong because of eating."
Big dogs had a strong immune system, but little dogs were easy to die of the stomach flu.
Justin said, "I'm making this for Bad Teacher. I won't give this to the dogs."
Edward said casually, "If she dies of your poisonous cake, no one will give you good extra lessons in the future."
Justin was doing his job seriously, not looking at Edward, but he said, "Her hand is wounded, so she won't have to cook breakfast tomorrow morning. I'll take this over to her."
Hearing that, Edward inevitably said with resentment, "You're nicer to her than to me. I'm off. When you're alone, be careful. Don't get your hands cut."
"Will you come back tonight?"
"Where should I go if I don't?"
"If you don't come back, I'll lock the door from inside."
Edward said expressionlessly, "Fine, listen to whatever she says."
