Chapter 25 Two of the Three Villains
Getting back into the car, Edward said, "Go to Maple Restaurant."
After the driver started the car, Jane looked at Justin who was wearing a mask and asked softly, "Did the doctor say the wound can't be blown?"
Justin, who was also upset because the doctor prescribed a bunch of medicine, ignored her. Edward, who was sitting in the co-pilot, said faintly, "He can't be seen."
Jane understood in seconds. It turned out that he was worried about his appearance. She always thought he didn't care about his appearance, but he still knew he was handsome.
Looking sideways at the window, Justin muttered, "You go to the restaurant first."
Jane asked, "How about you?"
Justin said, "The person you care about all the time is by your side. Why do you keep pulling me?"
Jane, who didn't expect Justin to say this, suddenly became vigilant. Since Edward was sitting in front, she had to explain the misunderstanding. After thinking about it, she calmly replied: "Okay, I won't ask you. You don't need to push me into the river if you're embarrassed."
Justin didn't answer her any further. Jane didn't know whether to rejoice or sigh.
After driving for ten minutes, the car stopped in front of a well-decorated building. This small building had a total of five floors, but the facade wass very large. And there were a lot of luxury cars parked outside the building.
When Jane first came to S City, Jennifer and her dad invited her to dinner here. The per capita consumption here was very expensive, two to three thousand dollars. Used to being thrifty, Jennifer said she wanted her dad to treat her.
After the car stopped, only Edward and Jane got off. The driver took Justin away. Jane, who did not want to be alone with Edward at night, asked, "Where did Justin go?"
Edward said, "The mall. He went to buy hats."
Jane was surprised and said, "He really pays attention to his appearance."
Justin had a wound at the corner of his eye, which cannot be covered by a mask. He thought the injury was ugly, so he went to buy a hat at night.
Knowing that Justin would be back soon, Jane was relieved and followed Edward inside.
Edward should be a frequent visitor here. Seeing him, the receptionists at the door greeted him with a smile, "Good evening, Mr. Smith." They looked at Jane and smiled at her.
Edward was wearing a shirt and slacks. The more casual Jane wore a T-shirt and sweatpants. She didn't wear makeup, temporarily twisting her half-dry hair back.
The two of them were not only separated by a distance of one person, but also a step away from each other. Their behaviors were not intimate, but others felt that they were inexplicably ambiguous. After all, what kind of woman could follow Edward without makeup? They were either going to sleep soon or have already slept.
Edward walked forward knowingly. A group of people appeared a few meters ahead, including men and women. They seemed to have just come out of the private room after eating.
They seemed to have just come out of the private room after eating. The man who walked at the front was about the same height as Edward, dressing casually, with a retro 'heart-shaped bangs' head, and his skin was very white. He was joking with the people around him. After being reminded by the people around him, he looked up to see Edward and stopped smiling.
Jane saw him too. Because he was not only tall and white, but also handsome. With his hairstyle, he looked like a man from a cartoon. She was always sensitive and obviously felt that these people stopped laughing after seeing Edward. Not only did they control their expressions, they also automatically looked away. Obviously, they didn't turn a blind eye to Edward. They just didn't want to meet him.
After taking a look, Jane quickly retracted her gaze. Seeing that they were about to meet each other, she leaned to the left without a trace, not wanting to get too close to the oncoming people. It was supposed to be over. But the next second, after the man passed Edward, he walked straight towards Jane.
He did it on purpose. Otherwise, he would not have turned abruptly in front of her, who had been walking straight all the way. Jane paused. Before her body could react, she felt her arm being pulled hard. Then, she fell to the side with strength. Unable to stand still on her injured right leg, she instinctively raised her hand to grab the support.
The whole process happened too fast. It wasn't until Jane came back to her senses that she found herself leaning on Edward, one arm being pulled by him, the other arm clinging to his chest and tugging at his shirt.
The pose was awkward and intimate. She hurriedly took a step to the side enduring the pain. After releasing her arm, Edward stared at the pale man in front of him unhappily.
Yes, Jane was very vengeful. She had quietly nicknamed that man in her heart.
Seeing this, the pale man sneered and said, "Why are you so unhappy? Did I step on your head?"
Edward said in a deep voice, "How dare you?"
The pale man was not afraid at all. Glancing at Jane next to Edward, he said after three seconds, "Is it you who was in the car last time?"
Jane looked at him warily and said nothing.
The pale man's smile deepened. He looked at Edward again, "No wonder you're running so fast. So you're going home and have something 'urgent' to do."
Edward said, "Just tell me if you want to die. I can satisfy you anytime."
The pale man provocatively said, "With your new love by your side, are you willing to die now?"
Edward was very upset. He didn't speak but just moved, which made the people behind the pale man become scared and tense visibly. Jane instinctively reached out and stopped, "Mr. Smith..."
Blocking Edward, half of her body was lying between him and the pale man. Without looking at Jane, Edward stared coldly at the person in front of him, "Go away."
Someone behind the man also whispered, "Ken, stop making trouble."
He looked back at Edward without fear. After looking at each other for a few seconds, he suddenly looked at Jane again. He smiled maliciously and asked, "What's your name?"
Jane was afraid that if he continued to do these things, Edward would definitely fight him. No one could stand fighting twice a day. What's more, she was still a patient.
With a sullen face, she looked up at the pale man and said, "Jane Cooper. Can you leave now?"
Smiling and deliberately lowering his voice, the pale man teased and said, "I remember. Since you want me to leave, I'll leave now."
After speaking, he glanced at Edward mockingly. Before leaving, he also said, "Your lover was really obedient."
Looking at the man's back, Jane finally remembered that he was the owner of the red sports car. Last time, he had been provoking Edward on the way. The whole street might have to be a fighting arena for the two of them if she didn't stop it.
She was in a trance when Edward turned around and walked in. Jane followed him into the private room. The waiter also followed. After he finished his order, the waiter left.
After the door closed, he immediately said in a low voice, "Why did you answer him? What is his relationship with you?"
Jane sat across from Edward. She could also feel his anger across the huge round table. Sure enough, this thing would not end until he was not angry.
Jane replied calmly, "He's nothing. I'm nothing. I just told him my name. That's all."
