Chapter 26 Ken Garcia
"Stay away from him," Edward said.
Jane thought to herself that she didn't know the man at all if it wasn't for him.
Nodding her head, she was respectful, "I know."
Edward didn't want to say more about that pale man. Jane, who was observant, naturally wouldn't ask too much. She only silently remembered him in her heart.
After a while, the private room door was pushed open from the outside. Wearing a hat and a mask, a well-armed Justin walked in. After looking at him for two seconds, Jane asked aloud, "Why are you unhappy?"
Pulling out the chair, Justin replied unhappily, "What's wrong with those who like to take pictures?"
Jane smiled, "They maybe see you as a star because of your dress."
Justin said, "They don't even know what the person they like looks like. False affection. It's nuts."
After pouring a glass of water and turning it to him on the turntable, Jane said as usual: "Drink a glass of water first. Don't be angry."
After listening to the two of them talking, Edward finally understood why Justin treated Jane differently. She could actually know that he was not happy from a face with almost no facial features. She either had superhuman acuity, or she could read minds.
Jane was still very happy with Justin's presence. Because after comparing, she knew that she was more willing to chat with Justin than Edward.
In the middle of the meal, Jane came out of the private room to pay for the bill.
The cashier was polite. As soon as Jane left, she immediately talked with her colleagues, "Hey, what's going on? Box 106 is paid for by the woman."
"Edward's card?"
"No, I've seen Edward's card."
"Maybe Edward gave her the card."
"......That makes sense."
"His new girlfriend, right? She doesn't have any makeup. She doesn't seem to have plastic surgery. She's so pretty!"
"She's Edward's girlfriend after all. If she doesn't look good, Edward can't take her with him."
"How long can she be his girlfriend?"
"It's none of our business. No matter how many rumored girlfriends Edward gets, it's not up to us to be his girlfriend."
"Hey, sometimes I think it's really unfair. How can a man not only be rich and powerful, but also look so handsome..."
"Yoyoyo, look at you. Do you want to fall in love with him?"
"Of course I do! Even if I can't date Edward, I'm still be fine with Ken."
"I think you are really whimsical. You want people like them? You don't want to live..."
Jane came out of the box with Edward and Justin. Seeing Edward walking towards the front desk, Jane said, "Mr. Smith, I've already paid for it."
Edward was a little surprised, "You want to buy me with a meal?"
Jane smiled lightly, "Thank you for helping me."
While talking, the three of them came out of the hotel. Not planning to take the Smith family's car, Jane said goodbye in advance, "Jog on please. See you tomorrow."
Edward said, "You don't need to come these days. Justin needs time to recover."
Jane immediately said, "Alright. Then Justin, you should take your medicine on time. I'll see you in a few days."
Jane couldn't see the expression of Justin, who was covering his face tightly. But she could think of the unhappiness on his face under the mask. He didn't speak. Jane smiled as they both got into the car. After the car drove away, she stopped a taxi on the side of the road to go home.
The location of the house she rented was very good, which was only five subway stops away from the company.
But the old community with only a few buildings had no security. The safety of life and property of hundreds of households depended on the uncle on duty in his 60s at the door. The uncle on duty had a good rest. He went to bed at nine o'clock at night. As long as no one robbed him, he could sleep until dawn.
Usually, Jane thought there was nothing wrong. But tonight Eden suddenly came to the door. If Justin didn't come, or Edward didn't come, the consequences would be unimaginable.
When going upstairs, Jane silently took out a small electric rod from her bag. From the first day she went to the Smith family, she had this thing ready. As she was walking, she heard footsteps faintly coming from behind her. She was wary and didn't look back. Listening to the breath, she thinks it should be a man. And the man got closer and closer. Finally, when the man was about to catch up with her, Jane turned around quickly and held the electric baton in front of her.
The man took two steps back in fright. Jane looked at him, "What's wrong with you?"
Leaning against the wall, Aaron looked at Jane and the electric baton in her hand. He said awkwardly, "Why are you so nervous?"
Jane said, "You should be glad I didn't stab you directly with it."
Aaron said, "I just saw you in the community. So I just wanted to scare you. Unexpectedly, I was scared by you in the end."
Seeing Aaron, Jane was no longer afraid. Putting the electric baton away, she turned around and went upstairs to say, "Don't make this kind of joke with single women. You're life-threatening."
Aaron followed behind and complained, "One size does not fit all. You are the only dangerous single woman."
Jane asked, "How is the other single woman tonight?"
Aaron knew that Jane was referring to Jennifer. He said aloud, "She had a good talk with them. She's going to invite us to a celebration dinner in about the next two days."
Jane said, "She's supposed to take you with her when she's in business with a bunch of guys."
Aaron said, "Actually, I didn't need to go at all. I took a look and found that this group of people were all coming for Edward. They were doing their best to flatter her and didn't dare to have other bad ideas."
Jane said, "It's good to have a smooth opening."
Aaron laughed and complained, "This is really when a man gets to the top, all his friends and relations get there with him."
Jane said, "She must be making fun of you."
Aaron said, "You are really her best friend."
After walking up to the fifth floor, they each stood at the door and took out the keys. After drinking half a catty of white wine, Aaron suddenly turned his head and said, "Jane, where have you been this evening?"
Halfway through the door, Jane replied calmly, "Justin asked me out for dinner."
Aaron was about to speak when Jane's phone rang. It was Jennifer's call. She answered the phone decisively and gave Aaron a look that told him to rest.
Jennifer also drank a lot. She excitedly told Jane about tonight's dinner. While drawing a beautiful blueprint for the future, she thanked her for her fearless spirit of going deep into the tiger's den to benefit her best friend.
Jane was sitting on the sofa with her phone turned on. She chatted with Jennifer as she sprayed her legs.
Jennifer's topic has always been related to Edward. Jane asked, "Did you know that Edward has a rivalry in S City?"
"He has a lot of rivals," Jennifer said.
Jane said, "He seems to be called Ken. Do you know his full name?"
Jennifer said suspiciously, "Ken Garcia?"
Jane said: "I heard others call him Ken. He was tall and white and looked like a toy boy."
Jennifer was half sober. She hurriedly asked, "Have you met Ken?"
Jane explained the process of meeting Ken at a dinner out with Edward in a simple and clear way. But she didn't say anything about Eden finding her home, lest Jennifer worry. She didn't want Jennifer to come to sleep with her in the middle of the night. In that case, she would have to serve alcoholics.
On the other side of the phone, Jennifer slapped the bathtub and said, "He's Ken Garcia!"
Jane said, "Who?"
Jennifer said, "The one who can compete with Edward for the top spot among the three evils. He is Edward's number one rival!"
