Chapter 63 Extra Episode-Say Something Sweet
He said with a strong desire, caressing her hair, treating her like a treasure gently.
He couldn't keep tough.
The moment he said that girls didn't need to apologize, Natalie got soft.
Natalie looked down, hid her emotions, took the coat he put on his right arm, hung it on her arm, and held up his right hand.
The blood oozing from his wound covered the gauze.
Natalie touched his wound carefully, checked it for a while, and looked up at him, "Does it hurt?"
In her distressed and sad look, Luke gently touched her cheek and whispered, "It's not bleeding. Don't worry."
Natalie thought, "How can you say you're fine when your wound is full of blood?"
Natalie looked down, held his hand, and wanted to squeeze it tighter, but she worried about hurting him. Natalie also had something to say to him but didn't say anything because there were too many people there.
Seeing her depressed look, Luke put his arms around her and said something else, "It's almost time for off-duty, right?"
Natalie was so close to him, and she nodded softly, realizing that Mark and the others were watching. Natalie felt embarrassed, just to back away, smelled a hint of alcohol.
She came closer to him, sniffed carefully, and then went to look at those people; all of them were either red-faced or dazed. They were all disheveled and fought before. As she looked over, some of them touched their necks, some coughed quietly, and some stared at the ceiling. They were too sheepish to look at her.
Natalie narrowed her eyes and asked, "Have you been drinking?"
"I'm not drunk," Luke said, apparently sober.
"Aren't you afraid of getting drunk?" Natalie looked at him with a frown. "What if there is a problem and the wound infects after drinking? What should I do if you can't take anti-inflammatory drugs and tetanus?"
It's a great feeling to have a girlfriend who was a doctor, and it made him look delicate as a man.
Luke smiled at her and said incredulously, "It didn't happen to me."
Natalie thought, "Do we have to wait until it becomes a problem?"
Natalie said with a solemn face, "No more wine after you get better."
He said, "Okay, if you say so, no more wine," and he made a promise.
After getting off work, Natalie had to go to the office first, and Luke went directly with her, leaving a group of people silent and stunned.
They had never seen him coaxing people; it was unprecedented that he would admit his mistakes.
Especially when he was so obedient to Natalie.
After they walked out of the emergency room, they looked at each other and reached a consensus through eye contact - Luke would love her for the rest of his life.
Luke called the driver to come over and take them to the quadrangle courtyard because he was drunk and couldn't drive.
Natalie took a shower that night, went to the kitchen to cook a few home-cooked dishes, and called Luke for dinner.
Luke sat across from her and reached for chopsticks when Natalie called him back.
She patted the chair on her left, "Sit over here."
Luke teased and said, "Want me to get closer to you?"
"How can you hold forks with an injured hand?" Natalie asked him.
"I didn't break my arm." Having said that, Luke felt a little happy because of the way she was nervous about him.
Natalie pouted and didn't say anything.
"It's nothing." With that, Luke already stood up and sat down beside her, "How hard can it be to hold forks?"
Natalie muffled, "Don't talk."
She lowered her head to pick up her food and said softly, "Let me help you."
Then, she raised her arms and fed him spinach with a bowl. Looking at each other, Luke couldn't help laughing, opening his mouth obediently to eat it.
Natalie took another piece of fish, put it on a plate, and carefully pick out the fishbone. She was wearing a lake-green cotton nightdress, rolled up to uncover her fine white wrists.
She fed him a few times, and Luke chewed slowly, "Won't you eat anything?"
"You eat first." Natalie was seriously taking care of him.
Luke looked at her fair side face.
Even before he was stabbed in the heart, stayed in the intensive care unit for a month, and was hospitalized for three months, he had never been taken care of by someone so attentively.
Afraid that she would be too worried, Luke rubbed her earlobe with his fingertips and said in a half-joking tone, "I have experienced even more serious, I am used to it; it's not a big deal."
"But I care about you." Natalie looked at him suddenly.
Luke was stunned for a moment at the words she blurted out and did not say anything but quietly gazed at her.
Natalie lowered her head and whispered, "Luke, don't be impulsive in the future, not even for me... It was just a fight today, what's next? I don't want to see you get hurt..."
She suddenly stopped and pouted, "If something happens to you, what should I do?"
Luke didn't expect that she would cry when his hand was injured. He was trying to comfort her when he saw her put down her forks first.
Natalie went to take his uninjured left hand and pulled it to her lap, holding his fingers in both hands, clenching them tightly.
"You're all I have..."
Natalie whispered, a little aggrieved; the tears dropped with a blink of eyes, dripping on the back of his hands, wet and hot.
When he saw her crying, Luke suddenly got serious and smiled gently after realizing that the more he was absent, the more he was upsetting her.
Luke wiped her tears, put his arms around her against his shoulders, and whispered beside her, "Okay, I promise I'll take good care of myself."
After speaking, he felt that it was not serious enough, so he kissed her lightly on her earlobe.
"I'll always stay with you, okay?"
Natalie only needed the affirmative answer. With that, she was reassured and believed his words.
Natalie nodded and sounded gooey. She leaned on his shoulders, buried herself in his arms, stretched out her hands, and hugged him.
Luke was the first person she met in Alcomara that she could rely on; he would protect her, showed up, and never left no matter what.
She never forgot his face after seeing him when he was smoking.
It was the most unimaginable thing she could imagine today without him.
Luke tried to comfort her, but she cried again. She wiped away tears with two tissues and said in a nasal voice that the food was getting cold and he should eat it quickly.
Then she picked up the forks again.
Luke was amused by her.
Natalie was already so sad but still thought about taking care of him first.
Then he thought, "I finally met such a girl after so long; I will never part with her even in my next life."
When she was about to turn away, Luke lowered his head, and Natalie abruptly felt him kiss her on the lips. Suddenly, her mind went blank, and the ribs she was holding fell into the bowl.
He gently caressed her face and gently fondled her neck.
Thinking of his hand's wound, Natalie didn't move because she was afraid of hurting him, letting him kiss her.
The dinner didn't work out in the end.
Natalie fell onto the sofa in the living room, thinking in a trance; how did things get to this point...
Luke let go of her for a moment and got up to unbutton his shirt.
That moment breathing fresh air, Natalie finally came to her senses, and gasped lightly, trying to sit up; her voice was a little faint after the kiss, "You still have a wound on your hand..."
Luke smirked, still unbuttoned the shirt, and leaned over; it was so close that she could even feel his breath.
"Don't doubt a man at such a time."
"No..." Natalie bit her lips and looked at him querulously with tears in her eyes, saying that the wound would be infected.
Luke looked at her, smiled without answering, threw away his shirt, sat lazily on the sofa with his legs wide open, and leaned back.
"Then today," he said, holding her waist and looking at her with fondness, "Could you do it yourself?"
Natalie was startled, held her breath, blushing, and said she wanted to have dinner.
She found the slippers under the sofa, put them on, and tried to slip away, but when Luke grabbed her arm, Natalie fell into his arms.
Luke seemed to expect that she would struggle, and he hissed. Natalie mistakenly thought that she had touched his injured hand, so she didn't move anymore.
Luke whispered in her ear, "Good girl, just ride on me here."
...
Natalie was hidden in his arms, stayed still.
She seemed too ashamed to see him again.
There was still a little light outside the dining window before, but now it's completely dark.
Luke closed his eyes, resting his head on the back of the sofa, and waited for her.
A few moments later, he found she breathed evenly and seemed to be asleep.
Luke chuckled, thinking that Natalie needed to do more exercise. She was so tired that she couldn't move anymore. And she just sat on him and fell asleep and did not know to get down first.
Not wanting to wake her up, Luke hugged Natalie and gently put the shirt that he had left beside him before on her.
He didn't think she was going to wake up, so he just leaned back on the couch and took a rest.
Luke could feel that she was sleeping sweetly, and he suddenly thought about her shy, innocent, tearful, and pitiful face.
...
It was about 10 pm; Natalie woke up and found herself lying comfortably in her bed. She felt her legs aching so much that it was as if they weren't her legs anymore.
The night light was faintly bright.
Natalie sat up; Luke just come out of the bathroom, and when he saw she was awake, he sat next to her and smiled at her, "Are you hungry? I want to take you out to eat something."
Natalie could not forget what they had just done in the living room; she blushed and looked away, not quite at ease looking at him.
Luke sighed and spoke slowly about what happened after she fell asleep; first, he carried her upstairs, and then he cleaned her body, but she was so ungrateful, not even complimenting him.
"You are cute." Luke pinched her cheek gently.
Hearing that she was being carried upstairs by him, Natalie asked nervously, "Are your hands fine?"
Luke said with a smile, "Actually, you're very light; I can carry you with one hand."
Natalie was speechless.
Natalie held his hand to check again, "Did you touch any water?"
"Nope," he said.
Luckily, the gauze was still dry. Natalie relaxed and glared at him with the complaint, "Why not finish the meal first..."
"Aren't you to be blamed?"
Natalie frowned in doubt, and a moment later, she saw him smiling and saying, "You are too cute."
According to experience, Natalie believed that Luke was about to do something naughty again.
Natalie stopped and begged for a hug, "I'm so tired, and I want a hug."
"Say something nice to me first!" Luke teased her, "Then I will think about it."
Natalie looked at him, "What do you want to hear?"
He laughed and whispered to her, "Call me baby."
