Chapter 64 Extra Episode-Coax Me
He was sitting on the bed, leaning over to her, and smiled badly.
With his warm and muffled voice, he whispered in a very charming way.
Every word he said made Natalie flustered for a moment.
He was the only one in the world who was so much like a playboy and yet so much attracted to her.
Natalie felt her body become hot unconsciously, and she sheepishly lowered her head and glanced away at a loss for words.
"Hm?" Luke fiddled gently with a strand of her hair, "Why don't you say anything?"
He was smiling as if he was deliberately trying to be naughty.
Natalie knew she was no match for him in flirting, and when he teased, she was forever blushing.
Having thought that, Natalie was embarrassed, patting Luke's hand away from playing with her hair. And then she pinched his waist harder.
Luke had to dodge with a smile, grabbed her hand, and gently squeezed her hand, "Why are you still pinching me? Am I wrong?"
"I don't care; you are also allowed to pinch me" Natalie looked brutal, trying to hide her earlier shyness.
"Okay, I'll let you pinch me," Luke smirked with indulgence.
Then he asked again, "What's the use of pinching waist if you want to fight with a man?"
Natalie thought, "Who said it was useless? When you were in the hospital in Alcomara, you would start screaming before I could pinch you, although at the time it was for having..." And she asked, "So where should I pinch?"
He was full of muscle that she couldn't think of where she could pinch easily.
"Here," Luke whispered with an intriguing smile on his face. He took her hand and put it to his...
Natalie was suddenly startled, and the moment she felt a hard object, she pulled back her hand violently, "Luke!"
She instantly flushed.
Luke seemed to like the way she blushed when she was embarrassed, and he touched her red face with his fingertips, "It's not the first time you saw it; why are you still shy?"
Natalie glared at him.
Luke smiled, lowered his head, got closer to her, and said in a soft voice, "Don't you remember? You were sitting on it before?"
His words made her think of all the scenes in the living room. Natalie was so ashamed that she bit her lip and patted his hand off, "Don't you ever say that again!"
He smiled even though she was being aggressive.
"Wow," Luke turned around and sat down, being obedient. However, he didn't stay quiet for two seconds, and then he seemed to be very considerate and asked her, "Are your legs sore? do you want me to give you a massage?"
Natalie glared at him; he smiled and quietly rested.
That day they failed to eat dinner but ate a late-night take-out. When Luke went to bed that night, he went to hug her as usual, and Natalie refused in fear of causing damage again to his right hand.
Luke wanted to hug her very much, but he had to obey her, so he could only lie down and sleep with one arm around her.
After arriving at the hospital the next morning, Natalie didn't leave by herself but took Luke to the emergency department and forced him to get tetanus shots.
Luke rolled his sleeves up to his upper arms. And after the injection, the nurse put the medical tray in order, whispered to Natalie, then left.
After Luke got his sleeve properly adjusted, he asked Natalie, "Is there anything else Dr. Moore would like to order?"
He said with deliberate indifference.
Natalie put her hands in her white coat pockets and said seriously, "Well, now you can go back to work."
Luke stood up and stopped her.
Natalie looked at him, "Is there something you're not happy about?"
"Nope." He smiled.
Luke looked at Natalie in confusion; Luke buckled up and slowly lowered his voice, "It is a soldier's natural duty to obey orders."
Natalie responded indifferently to him, holding back a laugh.
Natalie thought, "Slick talker."
"You are the most disobedient one."
She silently grumbled at him twice in her mind.
"Off you go; I'm going to get busy too." Natalie pretended to be serious.
Luke smiled, buckled his shirt sleeves, and answered with a standard military salute "Yes, sir," to her as if she were an officer.
During a break between work in the morning, Natalie recalled something.
Suddenly she wondered what he looked like in a military uniform; she had never seen it before.
After yesterday's noon party, Natalie was in the outpatient clinic participating in work training. She was worried about Luke just after she finished the work yesterday, so she didn't have time to chat with Mia and didn't reply to Mia's message yet.
Before having a lunch break, Natalie turned on her phone and told Mia about the situation.
Mia, "Really?"
Mia, "Can I still believe what you're saying?"
Natalie was speechless.
Natalie explained that she was genuinely interested in giving Mia a blind date. After briefly introducing the appearance and characteristics of the men to Mia, Natalie finally concluded very optimistically, "They looked quite reliable."
After hearing this, Mia was silent.
Natalie, "Are you still there?"
Mia, "I'm thinking."
Natalie was confused.
Mia, "Do I have to choose one of them? So many rich dudes, can I have them all at the same time?"
Natalie froze, "Never!"
Mia, "What a pity!"
Mia, "Oh my God, help me, my mom asked me to bring a boyfriend home this year! Jesus! Where am I going to get a son-in-law for my mom!"
Natalie was sad for Mia, but she also wanted to laugh; as she was about to reply to Mia, a new group chat suddenly popped up on Instagram.
"Mark" invited Natalie to join the group chat.
Natalie clicked in and was amazed to find that this group chat's name was "Blind Date Lure (20)".
In the next instant, group messages popped up one after another.
Before Natalie could realize what was happening, she saw a large "Welcome Natalie" message pop up, followed by a bunch of transfer messages.
The most shocking thing was that there was no transfer amount below five figures.
Natalie froze for a moment, backed out in fear, clicked into Luke's Instagram, and asked him what was going on with this group chat.
Luke easily replied, "I said you were going to set up a blind date for them."
Natalie, "What?"
She was a little bemused, "What kind of matchmaking is it? How can Mia go on a blind date with 19 men at the same time?"
Luke corrects her, "18 men."
Natalie was confused.
Luke calm down, "I'm in the group chat too."
Natalie was speechless.
Natalie had nothing to say; she took a deep breath to calm down and asked him again, "What are you doing in the group chat?"
Luke, "I have to prevent them from being interested in you!"
Luke suddenly recalled something, "Speaking of which, Nata used to have two good male friends."
Natalie understood immediately. Luke was referring to the time when Kingsley and the others drove to the hospital to pick her up for the Mt. Waters on New Year's Eve.
- You've been playing pretty wild while I was away, Nata.
That's what Luke said at that time.
Looking back now, Natalie felt a little amused and somewhat surprised, "I was just a casual acquaintance with them; it has been many years, Luke; are you still jealous?"
He took it directly, "Yes."
Natalie smiled, "That is not necessary."
She smiled and coaxed him again, "I've always had only one good male friend; that is you."
The next thing Natalie did was send him a kissing emoji.
A few seconds later, Luke also sent her this kissing emoji back.
The office was quiet during the lunch break, and Natalie held back from laughing out loud. Luke, who was arrogant and ruthless in the eyes of the others, was still cute in her eyes.
But Natalie stopped thinking in this way the next second.
For no reason, Luke asked her, "Is it 5:30 pm too? Can you get off earlier?"
Natalie replied, "What do you think? It's only lunch break now!"
Luke was also sitting at his desk at that time and lazily leaning against the back of his chair. He smiled lightly, teasing her, "Of course, you can! I can't wait to make you cry!"
Luke undoubtedly meant those nasty things.
Natalie blushed and abruptly closed the chatbox, leaving him waiting.
She suddenly ignored Luke, so Mark @ her in the group chat.
Mark, "Natalie, what are you doing? Hey!"
Natalie hesitated for two seconds about whether to block Luke or not and finally made her decision. She must talk to Mia first.
Natalie invited Mia to join the group chat.
Mia showed up in the group with her Instagram name, Anne. As soon as she entered the group, the men greeted her again with the same attitude that they had greeted Natalie before.
One was Natalie, Luke's girlfriend; they were afraid to offend her.
The other one was a single lady; they were unfamiliar and cautious, mixed with a hint of desire for her.
.
Maybe Mia was shocked by them; a moment later, Mia chatted privately with Natalie, "They are crazy! Are you asking me to 1vs19?"
Natalie, "Yes."
Mia, "What"
Natalie, "By the way, it's 1v18."
Mia was speechless.
Mia, "Nata, tell me the truth, is it because of that year I caused you to be caught by Luke hanging out with guys, so you want to revenge on me today!"
Natalie originally did not feel so. Since Mia mentioned that suddenly, Natalie felt that Mia did not deserve any pity.
Natalie jokingly said, "It's a favor; no need to be too grateful to me."
Mia finally got a chance to show off her skills.
Natalie, "I have to take a nap; bye!"
After saying that, she ran away.
Mia was speechless.
Mia, "Come back!"
Mia, "Believe me, I will send Luke all the love letters that the boys wrote to you when you were in school!"
Mia, "Let's share weal and woe!"
At this point, someone in the group was asking why Anne wasn't talking, and only Mark asked a different kind of question eagerly.
Mark, "Why are you named Anne?"
Mia was speechless.
Mia thought, "Why are you named Mark?"
-
After waking up from a nap, Natalie stretched her body and remembered that she had left Mia in the group, so she turned on her phone to check the situation.
There were already over a hundred records, and they seemed to be having a good conversation.
Natalie smiled and put her phone away.
There were a lot of appointments that afternoon. After consultation, Natalie went to Dr. Chris's outpatient clinic to take part in the study.
A patient was having knuckle pain for two months. After an X-ray examination, Dr. Chris examined it and gave it to Natalie, who looked at it and said with certainty that the patient's knuckle was normal and there was no problem.
The patient was uneasy and kept saying that he was in severe pain.
"Don't worry, you have been feeling vague pain in your finger for a long time; however, it is due to strain and irritation. This can't be a bone tumor and there is nothing wrong with your CT. Your bone is healthy."
Natalie added, "I suggest you go to the neurology department for a checkup."
When the patient heard that he was going to be transferred to the neurology department, he became anxious, "How can I have no problem? It hurts. I don't believe what you said. I'd better get Dr. Chris to do the checkup."
Natalie mumbled and went quiet.
She was upset and thought, "Who says that ability comes with age?"
Dr. Chris was giving Natalie a chance to learn and finally smiled, "You're wrong; my student just said it very well. This is not a bone problem for you and you need to go to neurology for a checkup."
The patient looked embarrassed and told Natalie he was sorry before explaining that his finger pain was interfering with his work and that he was too anxious.
After the patient left, Natalie sighed a few times.
Dr. Chris comforted her and said that she just needed to make steady progress. And if she was skilled enough, the patient would trust her.
Natalie nodded and smiled again.
While talking with Dr. Chris, the door was opened; Natalie looked over and saw a patient being wheeled in.
He was wearing sunglasses and had a string of amber Buddha beads on his left wrist.
Natalie looked at him for a moment, vaguely feeling he was somewhat familiar.
The moment he took off his sunglasses, she suddenly froze.
While Natalie was stunned, Dr. Chris also recognized him and said with a very friendly smile, "Mr. Jepson, I've heard a lot about you. Are you injured in the leg?"
The woman who pushed Jepson in should be a staff member of the Athana Theater. She replied instead, "Doctor, the show lift is out of order, and Mr. Lever accidentally fell off the stage, and now he can't even straighten his knee."
Dr. Chris got up, went over to take a look at him, and set up an X-ray.
Natalie sat beside Dr. Chris for the rest of the consultation, ignoring what he said.
The moment Jepson saw Natalie, he suddenly felt familiar. Although it was the first time he saw this girl, it made him feel in a trance that they were old friends.
After leaving Dr. Chris's clinic, Natalie was muddled.
At a close distance today, she suddenly realized that she still couldn't fully accept his existence like this...
Until the end of the day.
Since Luke wounded his hand, the car was driven by the driver and parked at the hospital gate. Luke sat in the back seat, and Natalie sat next to him.
Natalie seemed a little out of form and she usually had a lot to ramble with him as soon as she got into the car. However, she said nothing when they met.
"Why are you upset?" Luke stroked her hair, smiling softly, "I was just kidding at noon; how could I make you cry?"
Natalie looked at him, tried to hide in his arms, and hugged him tightly.
"Luke, say something to coax me."
