Zeidan ran through his army right to the front of the vast fields only to see a massive number of Werecats in their shifted forms ravaging the city. Things have gone completely out of hand that he wondered how long he had been unaware of the attack. He transformed, his fangs and claws out as he started going into their midst, jumping and stabbing or slashing their necks.
A huge cat jumped from the right side but he was fast enough to slash its side, making it fall with a thud and when another one slid from the left side, he jumped and gave its face a scissors kick, grabbing another one by the ears and hitting it to the ground. While he was busy punching the one on the ground, his hands grew weaker and his ears were filled with screams, people yelling out instructions of retreating and charging forward, and a loud screech. He placed two hands on each ear as he knelt, head ringing and thumping. He knew that feeling, but where exactly was she?
"Lyne?" He managed to mutter, looking around him amidst all the madness. He was breathing shallowly now.
Just when he wanted to manage to stand up, he felt something heavy hit his face and he fell to the ground, his face clogging dust. He coughed and spurted out blood from his mouth. A disadvantage of being vulnerable.
"Just when I thought I had seen it all. Zeidan, King of Vampire City, eating dust? Unbelievable!" He recognized that voice.
Zeidan turned on his back, looking at the scarred face hiding under a hat and looking down on him.
"If you think you can take me down because you gave me a punch that threw me to the floor..."
"I'll take a point for that. And I don't think I can take you down," he moved closer and crouched before him. "I know I can." With that, he grabbed his neck with a rather large and powerful hand, raising him from the floor.
"Ugh!" He groaned as he looked down on his long-time enemy and contender for years. He felt weaker than he had ever experienced since birth and things were getting blurry before his sight.
"I will take back what belongs to my Fathers." Shelbrooke threw a heavy punch on his face, making him see sparks before being thrown on the floor again.
Before he could be balanced, he felt strong hands grabbing him by the collar and lifting him, his breath reeking of tobacco as he spoke to his face.
"I didn't know you were this vulnerable and weak or I would have attacked a long time ago."
Instead of shivering despite his weakness, Zeidan smiled at him, revealing blood-stained teeth.
"You should have thought twice before walking right into my trap." He said in a haunted tone and before Shelbrooke would look back to know what he was smiling at, a large white Wolf had pounded on him, gritting vicious fangs.
He fell to the floor with a thud, terribly tired and weak that every sound was muffled. He was worried he would pass out which is a bad thing to happen as he has to be there for his people and prevent the Werecats from infiltrating the rest of the city, talk of getting to the Onyx. He needed to get there before them and unleash its powers. That is if it doesn't make things worse.
"Are you okay?" Lyne, still in her Wolf form came to him and started licking blood off his body as if to make him clean.
"You're badly bruised." She commented and began to pace the war field.
"Yeah...yes, I know. But I want you to do something. Go back to the palace...to the Onyx room. Only there can you be safe with our baby."
But Lyne shook her head as she took a few steps backward.

"No. This is where I belong. On the war field. I promised to stand by you and to fight with you, didn't I? And...and you said it yourself, that it is my duty to fight as the Queen of Vampire city, right?"
"Oh," he laughed. "I didn't think you were interested. So much that you're willing to put your life on the line."
"It isn't funny, Zeidan. We've got to put these Werecats in their place. Which I'm doing now!"
Before he could reply, she had run off to the fields but there was more to this. She wasn't running alone. She was leading an army. Zeidan managed to sit up, although he felt a burning sensation in his ribs and he could see the large pack of Wolves running behind her and howling on their way. The Werecats although are trying to charge at them head-on, they are no match for the Wolves who began tearing them apart.
Zeidan with his fist placed on the ground and the other hand pressed to his side to reduce the amount of pain he felt, began to rise. Not for long as his legs wobbled and he almost fell, thanks to a strong arm that went right through his underarms and pulled him back up.
"Zeidan?" It was Luana. Her hair was worn up and she was dressed in her war pants and jackets.
"How did you get this beaten up? You look like a boy being bullied by some kids off the city street. What went wrong?!"
"Are you going to keep chiding me or you're going to help?" He snapped at her before he could stop himself and with the way she pursed her lips, he felt guilty already.
"Sorry, I just..."
"It's fine. I'll just take you back to the infirmary." She turned to go but he couldn't leave the war field. Especially when Lyne is still there.
"No. I have to be here."
"And be killed?"
"I can't be killed." He sounded certain. But then he almost got killed.
Luana looked up at him from her side as she wrapped his arms around her shoulder, supporting him with her arms around his waist.
"Let's go." Her voice was authoritative but he didn't mind.
A few miles away from the field, a guy leaped out of nowhere and stood before them, pulling out his claws and coming close.
"Zeidan?"
Her voice was shaky but his legs shook more.
"Are you okay? I know that's a stupid question to ask especially as this handsome-looking guy is coming towards us with the devil's horns and red blazing eyes. But are you..."
"Sshhh!!" Luana hushed him and before he could frown at her, she pulled him roughly to the front and placed an arm around his neck.
His heart thumped harder against his chest as he was furious and at the same time confused. Was Luana working for these people? Who is this guy with blonde hair, sexy eyes, and an athletic body? And why is she holding a portable knife across his neck?
"Just trust me. I know you have lots of questions but I'll explain later. This is just to save you, so cooperate." She said all these in a hushed tone as they kept getting closer to the man.
"I can see you have our target already. Where are you taking him? You should kill him already and get it over with." The blonde bad guy boomed, his voice deeper than the sea.
"I'm taking him to the room where Shelbrooke has asked me to take him. He'll meet us there when he is done. I can't just kill him, you know." She tightened her grip around his neck and pushed a finger through his wounds, making him cry out loud.
"What in the holy..."
He felt another push and he screamed.
"Sorry, I just have to fulfill my end of the bargain."
The blonde guy nodded and walked past them, while Luana kept pushing him towards the palace, in the same rough manner, until he was in the royal infirmary. After which she drew her sword and moved out.
