Chapter 13

Linda sat in their bedroom all alone, as Damien had gone to take care of some pack duties the moment they were done having lunch.

She stood up from the bed to pace around the room, she had a bothered look, something was really troubling her.

There was somewhere in the pack that was heavily guarded, no one is allowed to go there, not even her, many times she has tried asking Damien about it, but each time he brushes it off saying it's nothing she needs to worry about.

*Nothing she needs to worry about?*

*Then why is he stopping her from going there?*

She has to know what is being kept there, what is Damien hiding from her? She has to find out whatever it is, and she's going to do that right now.

“Linda”. Her wolf Megan called in her head.

“Yes Megan, what is it?”

“This might be dangerous, Linda, you know how mate is when he gets angry”.

“I know Megan, but I won't rest until I find out what Damien is keeping from us, something tells me it's a deep secret”.

“I know Linda, but let's wait a little while longer, it wouldn't be easy going in there, it's heavily guarded and I'm sure they wouldn't let us in without informing mate about it”.

“No Megan, I can't wait any longer, this is our chance, Damien is out doing some pack work and he won't be home until late at night. What better chance is there than doing what we have to right now, we'll be back before he returns”. She said, trying to reason with her wolf.

“I don't know, Linda”.

“Are you scared, Megan?”

“Of course not, I'm just thinking about the guards, how do we distract them?”

“Hold on, let me think about that”. Linda said, scratching the back of her head in deep thought.

“Aha, bingo!” She squealed as she flicked her finger in delight.

“Tell me girl, what's the plan?” Megan demanded impatiently.

“We knock them out”.

“What? Are you crazy, what do you mean knock them out? How the hell do we do that?” Megan yelled in her head.

“Calm down Megan, listen to the full plan”. She replied, rolling her eyes at her wolf.

“Whatever, move to the gist then”. Megan replied.

“Good”.

“Now, we'll have to use wolf's bane”. She grinned.

“Linda, now I know you've really gone mad, wolf's bane is dangerous, it would actually kill them, and what if we also end up killing ourselves”. Megan yelled once more.

“Would you calm the fuck down, you silly wolf”. Linda yelled back in frustration.

“At least let me finish talking”.

“Ok fine, sorry, you may continue”. Megan replied.

“Good, I didn't say we'll be killing them, it's just a little amount to knock them out until we find out what's down there”.

“Hmm, ok, but what about mate? He would notice and what are we going to do about that?”

“I didn't think about that, but let's leave that for now and do the first plan, we'll cross that bridge when we get there”. She replied, sighing softly.

“Ok Linda, just hope we don't get killed because of your crazy inquisitiveness”.

“Thank you, Megan, you're the best”. She said, smiling brightly.

“Of course I am”. Megan boasted, causing both of them to laugh.

“So, when do we strike?”.

“Soon Megan, let's get the wolf's bane first, and we'll move to plan b”. She smirked.

“I'll know what you're hiding Damien, I'll find out, whatever it is”.

“Megan, are you ready?” Linda asked her wolf.

“As ready as I'll ever be”.

Truly, getting the wolf's bane hadn't been easy, but she blesses the moon goddess for having a faithful and loyal person like Clara.

Clara has been with her for a very long time, and she can never doubt her loyalty to her. She had begged to follow her on this mission but no, she can't allow that. The last thing she wanted was to put Clara in danger, so she refused to let her come.

“Hey, enough thinking, we'll forever be grateful to her, but for now, let's get going, there's no time to waste”. Megan said.

“Sure Megan, you're right, let's go”. She replied as she crept out of the house through the back door.

Few minutes later….

“Shit, this place is heavily guarded”. Megan growled.

“You sure are right about that one”. Linda replied, stretching her neck to get a good look at the place.

She had masked her scent by applying mud on her face and body, at least that way, they wouldn't be able to sniff her out.

The place was a massive building, built far away from the pack, it was well hidden by the giant trees, which now serve as her hide out.

Thank God she was a werewolf, her senses were super sharp, now she's counted 20 hefty wolf guards, but she had no idea how many would be inside.

“Where the fuck did that crazy mate of ours get guards like that”. Megan yelled in her head.

“I don't know, Megan, but we're taking them down”. Linda replied, feeling very determined to accomplish what she came here for.

“Yeah, that's right, you go girl”. Megan cheered in her head, and she smiled at her wolf.

“Thanks Megan, it's showtime”. She said, taking out her mask from the little backpack she had brought along, it contains the things she'll be needing, and most importantly, the wolf's bane.

She wore her nose mask first, then she pulled the black mask over her head, she wouldn't want her identity to be revealed.

“Let's go”. She said, running with speed to the building, the wolf's bane in her right hand.

“Hey boys”. She smirked mischievously behind the mask.

“Who are you? Leave this place right now, it's prohibited”. One of the guards said, growling ferociously at her.

“You know, why don't you just calm down and let's settle this quietly”.

“Leave now, or face your end, woman”. Another guard growled.

“I have a deal”. She said, twirling the wolf's bane, which was tightly sealed in a container.

“Let me in and I'll let you live”. She said, and the guards stared at each other before giving a loud laugh of mockery.

“Nice threat lady, but don't make us let you leave the hard way”. Another guard said.

“Ha, stupid wolves”. She said loudly.

“Foolish woman, you would die for this”. Another guard yelled angrily at her.

“I would love to see you all try”. She replied, flexing her muscles.

Cracking of bones could be heard as they were all transforming to their wolves.

“You're ready Megan?”.

“Let's do this girl''.

“Ok, on three”. She replied, touching the lid of the container as she scanned each wolf carefully.

“1”.

“2”. She counted, waiting for the transformation to be complete.

“3”. She growled, taking the wolf's bane and throwing it at them.

They all growled angrily at her and were about to attack, when they felt the effect of the wolf's bane, and one by one, they each dropped to the floor unconscious, they transformed back to their human form, and were naked.

“Oops”. Linda muttered.

“Phew, easy”. Megan sighed.

“Thank you moon goddess”. Linda said.

“You're sure they won't die?”

“Come on Megan, it's just to knock them out, it's not enough to kill them”. She rolled her eyes at her wolf.

“Now, let's go check inside”. She said, as she carefully walked towards the entrance of the building, she was careful not to step on the guards.

She sniffed the air before going inside, and she was surprised to not see any wolf guard.

“What the hell, there's no one here”. Megan scoffed.

''Bet he thought those huge wolves could do the thing”. Linda replied.

“It's dark in here, let's see if we can find a switch or something”. Megan said.

“Megan, do we even need that? Our sight is so sharp already”. She scoffed.

“Whatever, just do it”. Megan ordered.

“Yeah, whatever”. She rolled her eyes, turning her head left, right, looking for the switch to turn on the lights.

“There, found it”. She said, moving to one side of the building where there was a switch on the wall, she switched it on and the whole building lit up.

“Ha, interesting”. She muttered.

She began sniffing the air, trying to get a scent.

“Linda, concentrate, there's definitely someone here”. Megan said.

Linda took a deep breath, calming her nerves as she closed her eyes, using her wolf hearing, she tried picking up a sound and bingo! She heard something or someone.

“Megan, someone's here”. She said, sniffing the air once more, she got a scent and began trailing it, using both her sense of smell and hearing, she walked hastily towards where she was getting the scent from.

She kept on trailing the scent until she got to a huge metallic door, still inside the building.

“Fuck, how do we do this?”. She muttered, staring angrily at the huge metallic door.

“You dummy, break the handle”. Megan growled impatiently.

“Ok miss smarty-pants”. She replied.

She held the handle of the huge metallic door, she twisted it with all her might and finally, it broke.

“Yes!” She cheered happily.

“Ok Linda, this is it, let's go in”. Megan said, and Linda's heart began to race faster, all her senses were alert as she opened the door.

Thankfully, it wasn't dark in here, she got in, and then she saw a cell.

“Who the fuck is he holding captive here?”. Megan said.

''I have no idea, let's check”. She said, moving closer towards the cell.

''Hello”. She called out.

“Who is there?”. *No answer*

“Please show yourself, I mean you no harm”. She said in a calm voice.

“Linda, there's someone there, someone with an awful smell”. Megan frowned.

“Shut up Megan”.

“Okay, I'll leave if you don't want to come out”. She said, hoping this would make the person come out.

“Okay, I'm leaving”. She said, as she turned to leave, when a voice stopped her.

“Wait”. The voice said, causing her to stop.

“Who are you? Show yourself”. She replied as she turned back.

She heard the person grunt as he/she stood up, slowly the person walked, coming into the light.

Linda pulled off her mask as she came face to face with a very frail looking old lady, the woman was so frail that it looked as if she was about to break soon.

Linda gasps in shock, seeing the woman.

“YOU”.
