Chapter 12

Shadow moon pack

______________________

Damien was out in the woods, in his wolf form, he had gone for his usual morning run.

He stopped at a lake to drink some water before heading back to his pack, he crouched down on all fours, using his tongue to drink from the lake, suddenly he stopped as he sensed another presence, turning sharply, he let out a menacing growl, peeling his lips to show his long sharp teeth.

“Calm down Wolfe”. Valerie said as she finally revealed herself.

Damien growled before barking at her.

“Why don't you go change and let's have a nice talk”. She said.

“And what a nice coat you've got”. She said, complementing his shiny black fur.

He growled at her one last time before heading to another part of the woods to change, a few minutes later, he came out, dressed in only his shorts.

Valerie licked her bottom lip as she admired his strong abs, he was hot.

“You had better stop drooling you witch, I have a mate, and I'm certainly not interested in you”. He said, his voice cold.

“Hmph”. She scoffed loudly.

“Whatever”.

“What's it you want witch?”.

“I have a name ok, and it's Valerie, not witch”. She replied with an eye roll.

“A witch is still a witch, don't care about your name''.

“You need to start caring, Damien, since we'll be working together soon”.

“And what makes you think I would want to work with a witch like you”. He glared at her.

“A witch like me, you talk as if you know me, Damien”.

“Good, I don't, so get lost”. He growled.

“No one orders me around, Damien”.

“And now, I would rather not argue with you, let's just talk calmly like mature adults, and you listen to what I have to say”.

Damien stared at her for a while, contemplating if he should truly listen to her.

“Fine, make it snappy, I've got no time to waste talking to a witch like you”. He smirked, causing Valerie to glare at him.

“Whatever”.

“Good, whatever, now get straight to the point witch”. He said.

“I bring to you a proposal I know you would like”. She smiled.

“What proposal, and how are you certain I would like anything you say, witch”.

“First, can you stop calling me that”. She snapped.

“I have a name”.

“Let's see”. He said, pretending to think for a while.

“How about, no!”.

“Now quit wasting my time and go straight to the point, witch”. He said, just to spite her more.

“You're impossible”.

“Fine, thanks, now talk”.

“Do you really want to talk here?”. She said.

“What's wrong in talking here, witch? And the last time I saw you, you said something about the red moon pack alpha”. He growled.

“Yes, and that's why we better have this conversation in your office, the walls have ears”.

“These are trees, not walls”. He smirked, causing her to glare at him.

“Fine, let's go to my office then, and you had better put on the cap of that thing you're putting on, don't know what's with you and cloaks”. He said, muttering the last part.

“Whatever, it's none of your business what I put on”. She fired.

“Give me your hand”. She demanded.

“Why would I want to do that?”. He replied, raising his left brow.

“Can you just stop asking me questions and give me your hand”. She snapped.

“I'm not doing that, witch”.

“Why?, you're scared I might kill you?”. She laughed.

“No, I'm afraid I'll be the one killing you”. He growled.

“Well, I don't feel like walking, so just give me your hand, and I'll teleport us to your office, alpha”. She replied, a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

“Well, witch, no way, we'll walk”.

“Shit!”. She whispered as she immediately disappeared and reappeared in front of him, startling him a bit, she gave him a mischievous smirk as she grabbed his right hand and teleported both of them to his office.

“You sneaky little witch”. He yelled, seeing they were in his office.

“What?, told you I didn't feel like walking”. She shrugged, taking a seat on one of his chairs.

“Have a seat, alpha, and let's get down to business”. She said, and Damien angrily took a seat, facing her.

“We're here, start talking”.

“Like I said the other time, I want us to join forces in taking down the alpha of the red moon pack and his mate”. She said with all seriousness.

“Mate?, he has a mate?”.

“Guess you haven't heard, he found his mate two days ago, well, make that three now”.

“How come I…”.

“Didn't know about it”. She replied, knowing what he was about to say.

“Well, not everyone knows, he's still keeping it a secret”.

“And why is that?”. He questioned.

“Because her life is in danger”. She smirked.

“And how is that?”. He said, eyeing her suspiciously.

“Someone wants her dead”.

“Who?". He said, and she stared deeply into his eyes.

“Me”. She said.

“What?, you?, why?, how?”. He replied, feeling confused as he wasn't getting any of this.

“Leave that first, Damien, first tell me if you're willing to join forces with me, and I'll tell you everything you need to know”.

“Hmm”. He heaved a deep breath.

“I know you want this as much as I do, Damien”.

“You seem to know too much, huh”. He replied, eyeing her suspiciously.

“If you say so”. She shrugged.

Damien stared at her for a while, thinking if he should actually join forces with this witch or just kill her here.

But who was he kidding, he wants the alpha of the red moon pack dead more than anything else, and he wasn't going to let this slip away.

“Say yes Damien”. His wolf, Scott said in his head.

“Of course Scott”.

“Yes, I'll join forces with you, witch”. He smiled.

“Wise choice, Damien, and now you can start calling me by my name”. She said, rolling her eyes at him.

“Nope, witch suits you perfectly, and besides, you're a witch”.

“Whatever”.

“Yes I am a witch, I know that fully well, and I'm not denying that fact, I'm proud to be a witch, but you'll have to call me by my name”. She replied.

She shot him a glare that would have killed him if looks could kill.

“Whatever, fine, I'll call you by your name, witch”.

“Damien”. She yelled.

“Fine, Valerie, happy now”. He said, putting his hands up in surrender.

“Yes, very happy”.

“Now, back to business”. She said.

“We'll need to start planning our attack as well as a welcome gift to him”. She smiled wickedly.

“Yea, right, and you haven't told me the thing about his mate”.

“Yea, I'll do that”. She replied with a bored look.

“And when will that be?”.

“When you want, we're partners now”.

“Good, I want to know about it now, I need to know everything about her, why are you so interested in her?, why do you want her dead?, what's the whole connection?”. He threw all the questions at her at once.

“Calm down Damien, I'll answer all your questions, just don't murder me with them before I even get the chance to give you the answers you seek”.

“Whatever, start talking”. He ordered.

“And you need to stop ordering me around”. She snapped, feeling irritated by his tone.

“And yes, I know you had once planned an attack against him, but you failed”. She mocked.

“You shut your trap, Valerie”. He growled in anger, he clearly didn't like the fact that he was being mocked by this witch.

“As you wish, alpha”. She laughed.

“We'll have this conversation some other time, Damien”.

“Wtf do you mean by that, tell me everything I need to know right now?". He growled, hating her guts.

“You'll be having a visitor soon, or should I say your mate, and I don't feel like talking anymore”.

“Bye”. She said, as she once again disappeared with the wind.

“Fuck you bitch”. He yelled in anger.

A knock sounded on the door, and he knew immediately that it was his mate, Linda.

He opened the door and forcefully pulled her in, wrapping his hands around her waist, he began sniffing her neck, trying to calm himself down.

“What's wrong babe?”. She whispered, tilting her head to the side, giving him more access as she wrapped her hands around his waist, she could feel his distress.

“It's nothing”. He lied, pulling away from the hug to look at her.

Truly, his mate was gorgeous, blue eyes, blonde shoulder-length hair which he loves so much, she was a tall slender woman, very kind and generous.

Now, that part was something that troubles him the most, his mate wouldn't want anything to do with darkness, she was just too pure and this was what he hated the most, why can't she just be a bit bad, at least he would have been able to talk to her about Valerie.

But he knows if that happens, she would do everything to try to stop him from this, he doesn't know how long he would be able to keep the truth from her, but regardless of what happens, she mustn't find out, at least not yet.

''Damien”. She called, snapping him out of his thoughts.

“Huh, I'm sorry darling, I'm just stressed out”. He replied, pulling her into a hug once more.

“Hmm, I can tell that, I can feel it”. She replied, hugging him back.

“Do you want to talk about it?”.

“No, it's nothing much, just something about the pack, but it's alright, no need to worry too much”.

“Alright, lunch is served, let's go downstairs”.

“I'm sure you made something delicious”. He replied, pulling out of the hug and giving her cheeks a little pinch.

“Ouch, stop it, Damien, let's just go”. She giggled.

“Ok babe”.

“Then after that, I'm going to pound that cherry”. He said lustfully.

“You pervert”. She giggled, running out of his office while he chased after her.
